Not only are you clear and concise, but it's your tone of voice. Very pleasant and your demeanor is very relatable. The way you acknowledge mistakes also makes you more human.
I have just bought a speed light and was trying to figure out how to practice lighting techniques for portrait shots. This will help immensely. Those pop up backgrounds are a great idea.
I LOVE your videos. If us viewers are watching photography videos online we probably are not professional and these videos are perfect for us enthusiast. Keep them coming!!
I took it for granted that you would post every 2 weeks or so a new video tut, as i am addicted to your wonderful and creative show, should you need me to send you a giant chocolate to make you going, just let me know ....a pleasure ,bye from Canada
That was one of the best endings to a video I've ever seen. Also very good and helpful video that will help me with self portraits. I may have to invest in one of those reversible backgrounds.
Enjoyed watching this... again. Was as informative and entertaining the second time - you have a knack. Thanks for doing such a good job with this video, and laughed with the surprise ending.
What an infectious energy he puts into it. A nice, simple approach to portraits, nothing too technical, makes you feel you can get the same results. And you probably can. I didn't know about the pop-out backdrop, I thought he was going to use a reflector. That will be a good candidate for the Adorama gift card I'm sure I'm getting for Christmas. I'll be looking for more of his stuff on AdoramaTv.
I love your work Gavin, specially, the post production work. You explain everything in detail which makes it easy to understand. I just enjoy watching your videos. Keep posting more and more videos. :)
Awesome video Gavin, like the simplicity yet how many things you can learn and make on a cheap. Fantastic humor as well :) "Who is that mysterious person? It is me, self portrait" haha And the outtro idea and realization was just uber cool Thanks for vids, keep them coming!
Newer canon DSRLs such as the 60D have CLS which uses the camera's inbuilt flash as a master trigger. This is a menu option that you have to switch on under 'flash control' in the menu. You also have to make sure the off camera flash is set to wireless slave mode, make that the camera and flash are set to the same channel and you're sweet to shoot :)
Another top video, great stuff Gav,, TV should have programes like this, the Gadget Show is RUBBISH now, it's all about stuff we can't afford, a program like this, with Gav as the presenter would be GREAT. GAV4TV!!!!!
