The song is about a girl named Alice, obviously, from Montreal who was driven insane by a possesed doll and her parents kept her locked in the basement. It's meant to sound like a nightmare.

expired now but it was worth saying the first part of the song here is added up later as representing the happy part of Alice’s life. This song is epic of course and the guitar part very brilliant. The galloping on the pedal note and how it’s well blended with the connecting riff is very groovy and in the end when he speeds up the picking on that percussion. Very well crafted.

The song is based on a true story about a girl in Montreal who was in the news in the early '80s. Jeff Waters of Annihilaror explained: "She had a mental disorder and her parents would lock her in her room because she was waking up with these nightmares about the Boogeyman and things like that. And the parents did this for a few years. The kid was really young, and she went into some kind of full-on mental breakdown and had to be institutionalized.

Hey girls, If I remember correctly Alison Hell is about a little girl who is afraid of the boogeyman in her nightmares and because her parents don't pay attention to her fears, she falls into some kind of madness Also, that band is from Canada Take care \m/

I feel like with how much you enjoyed the Crystal Ann part, you would really enjoy Voice of the Soul by the band Death, it's a fairly short instrumental song. Death in general have some amazing material (they are one of the pioneers of death metal), Voice of the Soul is quite different from most of their other stuff but I think you ladies would really like it!

Cosmic Sea is Voice of the Soul's older, much heavier brother and is equally as amazing, as is much of Death's catalog

The song is actually based on a true story about a girl in Montreal who was in the news in the early '80s. She had a mental disorder and her parents would lock her in her room because she was waking up with nightmares all the time. They locked her up for several years and the girl ended up institutionalized. I am paraphrasing a bit here based on interviews with Jeff Waters, one of the song writers and the guitarist.

You had to mention that this felt like a song for a horror movie, this came out the same time as the movie "People Under the Stairs' and I thought it should have been the main song for that movie.

Randy Rampage had a great, unique voice. RIP. (1960-2018) He was popular in Canada and was in the hardcore punk band D.O.A. from 1980 before joining Annihilator in 1988. Crystal Ann is a completely different song, nothing to do with Alison Hell. It starts off the album Alice In Hell and fans are used to hearing it before Alice so they're usually listened to together. I saw them play all over the GVRD or Lower Mainland aka Vancouver, Canada probably 20+ times before the album came out. Great live shows too.

Yes! About time Canada's own!Annihilator The main man guitarist Is Jeff Waters he was a big Metallica Megadeth fan this was his answer to them by forming this band, they have had like 4 or 5 different singers over the years and he currently is the singer in recent years. This was 2 songs but crystal ann is just to good to go alone so it became a lead in to alison hell Next Annihilator song react to "The Fun Palace"

It’s actually 2 songs Crystal Ann And Alison hell is another song. The lyrics are about the boogie man if I’m not mistaken. Gives a scarey creepy vibe. Bought this album when I was in high school and still one of my favorites. My workout song. If you like there more Nicer sound annihilator song, check out carnival diablos.

Both songs are in C minor or whatever, as a musician I can tell you that you can theoretically mash a lot of stuff together because of scales and the intro song is likely just some well polished acoustic segment the band wrote by accident that they had no lyrics for. but it's also very likely the wrote "Alison Hell" after "Crystal Ann"

this band is basically jeff waters on guitar, then whomever he decides to hire. i love joe comeau on vocals better. 2003's double live annihilation is awesome.

I have never watched any video of yours but I also just came upon Alison Hell this spring and had to see how someone like you two reacted... pretty much exactly the same as me (without the pausing). Ive been listening to Heavy Metal for 35 years, I LOVE Thrash and Im even Canadian too but I still had not heard this song. Alison Hell inspired Megadeth's best effort- Rust In Peace and countless other musicians/music... how in the world could I miss this? Crystal Ann is technically a different song and is an instrumental.

I've never heard it pronounced like that before lol. It's usually "uh-nigh-yuh-layter". But yeah, now that you're well-versed in Metallica, Megadeth and have done an Annihilator song. You should do some more classic thrash bands like Testament, Overkill and Death Angel. And maybe some more Slayer.

Esto es una historia real. Cuentan de una niña de Montreal que tenía un miedo irracional al "hombre del saco", situación que contó a sus padres, pero no fue escuchada. Pensaron que era solo un proceso normal de temor en la infancia. Pero no se dieron cuenta que esta fobia irracional, acabó desarrollando una enfermedad mental causada por dicho miedo, mostrando lo peor de la pequeña. (Historia basada en hechos reales).

As with most various reaction videos I see on youtube, I want a reaction video, not a commentary video. Not everyone has a pause button in their brain. Overall, a fan of Annihilator, and you destroy it by constantly pausing. Just play the song through, then give your comments. Good job, girls.
