Tying a Simple and Effective Wet Fly 

Hi I made this fly in the evening. The following day I fished it across and down and caught a 20" Brown. Thanks so much! Addition 2017: This is my go to fly PERIOD! I tie it with a red head at times. #14 & #12. Simple and very, very effective. I am going to tie it with an olive head and try that as well. Thank you Mr. McManus!

Great fly, I believe that there are many Scottsmen who are good at tying flies. I hope you love California. I prefer a few million less population so I live in Maine. Cold part of the year but no major earthquakes, and far less population and competition for fishing. All the best to you, Sean

As Ariel pointed out, a wet fly hook of your choice, thread color of your choice to "match the hatch" (black in the video), a pearlescent or opal flashabou for a little flash, and a hackle of your choice (black in the video) at the front. Since this is fished as a wet fly you want to use avoid using a dry fly hackle - something more of a soft hackle that will allow the fly to sink properly with just the weight of the hook. I use a similar fly with black thread silver wire and a noodle of orange glister which contains the pearl Mylar soft partridge hackle 3 turns fly is deadly fished in s 2 or 3 fly team , the simple flies are the best
