Hang in there Matt… and keep listening. I’m not a combat veteran with PTSD so I can only imagine how that must be. I have had a lifetime of lost loved ones, starting at a very young age. I have found that, at times, the best place for me to be and at times, the only place I find comfort, is deep in some songs. Tyler has been a go to for me since I stumbled upon him a few months ago. Thank you for your service. God bless you. Take care!

I found Tyler’s music through my son. He listened to him nonstop when we were in the car together. I asked him who is this singing ? He is good. My son was an addict. He passed away August 30th 2022 , my birthday from fentanyl poisoning. I now listen to him often and think of my son. He is forever 28.

For context Utah Phillips wrote this song on his way home from Vietnam. He only ever played it once for an audience of one. He mentioned it was unfair to play it again because the woman in the song was very much alive and the song came from a place of anger. Tyler dose a fantastic performance of bringing this song to life.

Just came from a Jinks video where comments had listed several artists who are "legit". I have liked them all so far, however this guy is different! He is the only one I can't pin down, the others all sound like a blend of a few greats (some almost to the point of mimicry). This dude certainly sounds like the greats, however the "great" artist he sounds like is Tyler Childers. This cat is indeed legit!

Jody Tiller Big fan of Jinks just found this guy and love it. Got any other similar artists to recommend?
@jodytiller8096
@jodytiller8096 7 лет назад
Depends on what you are looking for lol. If you lean more towards Jinks, I would suggest Chris Knight, Scott Copeland, Brandon Jenkins, Turnpike Troubadours, Stoney Larue, Jason Boland and several others. If you want something like the guy in this video, I would go with the guys like The Dead South and St. Paul and the Broken Bones to get that old blues/bluegrass sound. St. Paul and the Broken Bones is very Otis Redding/Ray Charles as far as instrumentals, even if that isn't your thing you would be missing out if you didn't check out their stuff. The vocalist is a once in a lifetime guy. If you want something similar to Tyler Childers vocally, go with William Clark Green, Whskey Myers or Wade Bowen. Lastly the only artist I can think of that this guy really compares to all around, would be Hayes Carll. The list is a kind of long and you may already listen to several of these guys. There are just too many great artist coming out of this scene lol. Also check out Sturgill Simpson if you get a chance, if Waylon, Merle and Otis Redding ever had a child together, his name would be Sturgill Simpson.

By the banks of the river Where the willows hang down The wild birds they warble With a low morning sound Way down in the hollow Where the river runs cold It was there I first listened To the lies that you told Now I lie on my back And I see your sweet face A past I remember Time can't erase And letters you wrote me They were written in shame And know that your conscience still echoes my name Now if the ladies were black birds If the ladies were thrushes Well I'd lie there for hours In the chilly cold marshes And if the women were squirrels With them high bushy tails Well I'd load up my shotgun With rock salt and nails I'd load up my shotgun

Tyler's simply amazing. Bottles And Bibles is his first materpiece he released at age 18 (Amazon has the full 13 song version). And search Soundcloud for his hits that will probably never be on an album but should be.

I'm so very thankful for Tyler/ his guitar stylings/ songwriting / and voice. I too am a KY boy and it just speaks to me. I've been into it for over a year since day one hearing him. But today I let this song sink in and I let myself be blue for the first time about my wife of 20yrs hurting me to the core. Won't speak bad of her, but this songs suits. Thank ya Tyler

Love you Tyler Childers... like a brother. Your passion runs through me and as a single tear sets upon my face...I feel humbled amongst all these clowns with frowns and the tell of the tape. Nice to hear such much soul brother... it's been hidden without almost a trace. I'm going out to the bar tonight...bet cha I speak your name. Drink a bottle and warm by the flame, it's cold and raining...but I'll be numb from the pain. Playin that ol juke box, and givin Tyler Childers praise... Glad I found you. Peace love and happiness "Blove"

I love this guy! He sings real country not the pop country we get cramed down our throats on the radio. He's my new favorite and I found out he comes from Paintsville KY which is about 20 miles away from where I'm from. So Tyler if you read these here's a big howdy to you from me, Please don't let the big recording execs ruin what you do it's so pure and beautiful. ,, Lots of love from your fan in KY.,♥️🙏

Funny how Life goes, Ive never been a Country Fan or a Bluesy Guy.. Life long Headbanging & Prideful Heavy Metal Musician.. I wasn't looking, and didn't care And a friend even told me to give Tyler a chance, I heard it one time but I didn't listen.. A week ago on the road working Tyler found me. Not sure if it was being distant from Family or just being alone.. but it hit my algorithm on RU-vid somehow and I listened this time.. All I can say is, This Man is a display of soul Through Music and I haven't seen that in years.. Truly Special!
