Coming from Lower Alabama (LA) I know the moonshine reference and live it a bit. I steer clear of that nose candy...seen it pull too many in, roll `em over and spit `em out shells. This man talks to your soul...kinda one-on-one like. I work a chemical factory-- he's one those voices that pull you through the weekend so you can swipe your badge come Monday and bring you to that "Daddy's Home!!" come Monday night. God put him and others like him to help me along in being a man.

Tyler Childers is from Kentucky, where I'm from. This is exactly the kinds of music we listen to, sitting around a fire. He has brought the sounds of kentucky to a main stream stage and it literally sounds like home for me. I'm so glad you can appreciate it, and immediately knew it was an Appalachian sound.

The 3 songs on this acoustic release are the best things he has IMHO. He has a lot of cool stuff, but the rawness of these 3 songs is amazing. I can't get enough of them. Follow You To Virgie makes me well up every time. I wish he'd do another live recording album with just him singing and playing. I'm not a fan of the over production of him or Chris Stapleton. I prefer the raw stuff, where it's just the person and their guitar.

FANTASTIC reaction!! Awesome job brother! I sat n watched this today and I was waiting for you to make fun of Tyler and many of my kin folk and I thank you for not doing that. Tyler is an "Americana" folk artist that hails from damn near just a few miles down the road from where I live. We up in my holler love Tyler and can honestly feel every single note that he's singin about, life is hard in Eastern Kentucky, most of us don't take government bailouts but those that do we don't ride them much cuz they probably need it. Those of us that don't, try to make up for those that may be having hard times as we all do, we in Appalachia just try n make sure that folks are getting along n have food n everything that they need to survive in today's world!

This was the first song I ever heard by Tyler Childers. I instantly fell in love. His voice, his guitar, the whole kit and kaboodle! I love your assessment of the song too! I would just have to say, your concern with certain lyrics is fine, only just try to understand the heart he writes with. Out in the sticks, economical and societal structures are far different than some might imagine. Does/did he use that particular drug? I don't know, I've never met him. But he might be writing from a place he is familiar with, a place he's been around. I've never done it but I can connect with this song like it's a personal anthem. Love it still! 😊♥️

Love Tyler Childers absolutely fantastic artist! I think you'll like Benjamin Tod if you like Tyler. "Using again" by Benjamin Tod is one of may all time favorites from this genre.

I rarely drink but I make my own shine in the creek in my back pasture just as my family has done for generations. It’ll put hair on your chest that’s for sure. Grow my own corn and barley.

A lot of truth and real life in this song for some people in rural America (particularly appalachia). I know a few people who this song embodies unfortunately. From the outside looking in, it can seem a little surreal, but for some, it's a genuine reflection of existence. It's excellent, but yet sad at the same time.
