I usually agree with you fantano, but only referring to Tyler as the n word the entire review and knocking the album down five points claiming that he, "didnt talk about jesus on this album enough" felt a little unfair to me

We love the growth of Tyler!!!! So glad to see him get a 9 in 2019.

You don't like She? I actually liked that one. I agree with most of the album, I don't rate it high, but I do really like Goblin, Her, She, and Yonkers. But that was really it.

Personally, I love this album. I love the concept behind it. He goes in to see his therapist, who he hasn't seen in a while, and basically unleashes all of his anger with everything he has been through, either in his entire life, or even just when OF was coming together. There are some weaker tracks on this album. That I will not deny, but I feel as though you're missing the point of this album. Tyler has many levels of anger, which he represents as different personalities in this album. Tyler blames a lot of his thoughts and anger on his different persona's, but doesn't know what to do. At the end of Nightmare he blames Tron Cat for things he's done and thoughts that popped into his mind. In Goblin he makes note that Wolf is in control of him sometimes. Ace is also mentioned once, or twice, if I recall correctly. But, by the end of the album he realizes it's him that has done everything. It makes me wonder if Tyler is trying to state that he is growing up by the end of it. He realizes that he needs to stop running away from his problems and learn to handle them better, although, that's how I see it. Before the realization he would act out as though he were a brat, blame his anger as an escape, and just act weird and become upset over being ridiculed by it. You said it yourself. He's weird, funny, terrible, bratty, artistic, lashes out too much, et cetera. All of those things are represented well with the title of this album. There are many definitions of the word troll, but one of them specifically that comes to mind is a weird, epic brat, which is what Tyler is/does. I sort of understand what you mean about the beats, but wasn't Tyler broke before this album dropped. I know after Yonkers was released he made a large sum of money, hence he references to that song in a few songs on Wolf. For something that was done with a small amount of funds it was done well. Granted, so Bastard, but the sound quality overall is much more crisp than Bastard. It doesn't sound like it was recorded with decent equipment. Anyway, good review on this album. I love your work!

Tyler saw melons harsh criticism on synthesizers, so he made an entire album With synthesizers as the main instrumental focus out of spite.

WOLF is his best album

This album is a guilty pleasure of mine. I actually like the synth heavy production and the lyrics make me laugh. Unlike many others, I am a fan of Odd Future and early Tyler, but still am also a fan of his newer work. I just think he is one of the most consistent artists ever.

As a Tyler fan I thought Goblin was fucking garbage honestly hahaha

How could you not like she?

This is the first review I ever saw from fantanwo and I had just gotten into odd future. I was obsessed with them, so I went on RU-vid and looked for a review on this album I loved, and I remember watching the beginning and genuinely thinking, awe man this guy loves it too. It is as good as I thought! Despite the criticisms, I still loved the album, but Anthonys review gave me a new ear to listen to it with.

I respect Anthony’s take and I see why he feels that way, but I think when you look at the record with the hindsight we have now, the album is more enjoyable. Tyler was an insecure kid with a lot of baggage and an absentee dad who was probably scared to death of fame, and I think when you frame the LP in that context, and see how he grows past that, the content of the record is more excusable.

The synths and the R&B doesn’t hit as hard as it could but I still thoroughly enjoy this album on a casual listen. 6/10

10:51 "...because they sound like they were produced by a baby in Mario Paint Music Composer." This is a great visual. Thinking about Tyler as a baby producing beats in front of a SNES makes me giggle.

I feel like Tyler is legitimately saying what he wants/what he thinks. Maybe you were focusing a little too much on what you _wanted_ this album to be. Like you said, Tyler makes music for himself.

It's easy to say that Wolf was Tyler The Creator's best project

I have to respect this guy's opinion but I feel like he got the wrong impression of this album. For example, he really brushed "Window" off as a posse track when really it's an integral part of the story being told in this session with Doctor TC. That song hits me harder than hell.

i honestly think if the production was more clean and shiny itd take a lot away from the vibe of the album. i think the very digital, low quality instruments and synthesizers add to the overall atmosphere.

Whenever I feel older than I am, I remember I was about 10 years old when I first saw this.

I like tyler, he's really emotional and tells a pretty deep story. I also like how he uses irony making fun of flaws in the society

The album was brilliant. Beautiful. Not understood as much, listen deeper, u may understand that its a story, but you dont understand the story in its entirety.

As a fan of Tyler, The Creator, (yes, I am white) his best work are in this order: 1. Bastard 2. Wolf 3. Cherry Bomb 4. Goblin That's just my opinion tho.

Lol at the people who say ''you just don't get it'' the story in Goblin is easy to understand as See Spot Run. I'm not saying that as someone who dislikes Tyler or anything. I actually like Bastard & Wolf quite a bit. But the story's not hard to follow at all.

when I listened to goblin after IGOR came out It felt like watching eric andre I could not tell if Tyler is brainless or mega smart.

I usually agree with these reviews but this albums is genuinely one of my all time favorites.

I think you could've misinterpreted the album. Also, Goblin was an album that goes along to a story and is great. And AU79 was awesome.

It was this review a couple years ago that introduced me to Tyler/OFWGKTA. I prefer both Wolf and Bastard to Goblin...

Goblin is actually my favorite album, i think this album is what really made me like odd future, i think you have to really know about odd future and the members to like this album and to actually get it.

I liked the review I just wish that the fact that it is a character Tyler is playing went into the way he reviewed the album a little more. A lot of the issues you have with the album I agree with as well as the music itself not being that awesome to listen to at times, but I think from a story prospective alone It should at least be a 5/10.
