I love how they let him perform a lowkey ALBUM CUT instead of something more popular. People are finally respecting Tyler’s artistry and I love to see it.
"Mom was in the shelter when Yonkers dropped I don't say it, when I got her out I knew that was the moment I made it, I dont come from money they'll deny it, cuz I don't mirror the stereotypical products of my environment" That was crazy 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
My haters throw rocks at me and IT hurts. I hope they don't throw The Rock at me because I like him as an actor. GAGAGAGAGA!!! I am funny!!! I am the funniest RU-vidr EVAH! Please agree, dear mu
He knows how to preform physically which honestly, not a lot of artists do. He's not doing the generic movements and is incorporating a lot of old school dances in new ways.
Have you seen Doja's performances? She remixes every song every single time she performs them and even coordinates each dance routine and outfit each time. I'm not her biggest fan but its really entertaining and fresh, I respect it.
Tyler is so good live. You can hear the confidence in his cadence just as easily as you can on his recorded songs. He is quickly becoming one of the biggest names in hip-hop and its long overdue. Big love for Tyler, hoping some day I can emulate a similar degree of confidence in my own songs!
2:34 I was listening to the studio version thinking about this performance and I had to run it back to confirm he said "boys and girls" instead of "X and Y". POWERFUL PERFORMANCE
i noticed that! he does it in a couple different performances, i love it! changing a line to be more trans-inclusive shows a lot of growth from when he’d say homophobic slurs to offend people lmao. seeing his evolution is awesome
Happy to see massa finally getting the spotlight treatment, especially when it's such a charged song to sing in front of an audience. It seems like the more Tyler goes live with it the more he's comfortable with some of the stuff of the verses and straight-up ditches some of the more obscured parts for more literal verses (e.g. "custody between X and Y" in the og recording VS "boys and girls" in live), which takes some serious balls to do at an award event of all places. It's clear he's finally reached a point where he's comfortable with himself, props to him.

Man, Tyler’s so genuine. He doesn’t have a voice track behind him like a lot of rappers, he’s rapping the whole song with the amazing visuals. I love that song.

“you can’t relate to the things i say to these instrumentals, whether it’s wealth talk or shit that’s painful. i paint full pictures of my perspective on these drum breaks. just for you to tell me i’m not good from your lunch break.” that’s that raw emotion shit
@@raged2853 ehhh 3. Wolf is pretty bangin but suffers from Tyler's still inexperienced producing. And Cherry Bomb has mad respect from me but on a technical level a lot of the album is kinda disastrous at points and hard to listen to because it can feel so grating

It's the way hip-hop is supposed to be energetic, disrespectful, no filters in your bars say what you want that others are afraid to say, that's why audiences gravitated towards Tyler in 2009 when he released Bastard.
I have not seen anyone perform better or keep me interested in their performance like Tyler he performs by himself and its better than performances I have seen with 20 + people on stage that's a superpower

It represents that but I feel it mainly represents “Massa” (the industry). He comes out the house and performs then grabs his shit and gets ghost at the end.

Tyler is probably one of the most creative people when it comes to concepts and set design. This stage legit feels like a music video, with no major editing effects other than some zooming in and out..
this song is not a conventional song that should be performed at an award show, but that’s why Tyler is different. “I paint pictures of my perspective on these drum breaks, just for you to tell me it’s not good from your lunch break.”

This performance is so incredible - He has such an amazing way of expressing his words without them being difficult to understand or relate to. This is what music should be doing.

Hearing this song for the first time was so amazing because its all kind of a rant by the end, and that second verse has a really one breath/stream of thought delivery. Seeing him maintain the performance while also going a little crazy on the second verse, almost like he’s going crazy trying to defend himself to all the hate he gets. This delivery was so amazing. I need to see this tour!
Crazy how this man was cancelled in other countries, dropped a gem like cherry bomb and then bounced back and now is the biggest superstar ever. Congratulations Ace.
@@mrduffer bro right?? I was in 8th grade when that shit dropped and that shit changed my life. Seen Tyler and Rocky on later that year in Colorado. Shit will forever be iconic. I remember Mfs hated that album so much and it’s just a timeless beautiful piece of art
@@makeouthill4822 ong. Hard to believe that both CherryBomb and At.Long.Last.A$AP dropped in the same year. Such different sounding albums with so much quality content. Two GOATED artist.
It's so crazy that I was working this show and got to watch this performance in the broadcast control room I was in. As I was watching and listening, I was so amazed by this performance and just his presence that he brings to the stage. So grateful I have a job that allows me to experience these things!

Yes! My favorite song on the album. The line “Everyone that I loved had to be loved in the shadows” always hits me in my core. Can’t wait to see T live!

@@wormroot well in this album (and Igor) Tyler talks about loving a person that’s in love with someone else, meaning that he can’t love them openly he has to “love them in the shadows”. I’ve been in a situation not too far from his so that line always sticks with me and it’s also why Igor is one of my favorite albums of the year.
This is so fukin awesome bro he’s come such a long way and I know this performance doesn’t make him relevant but to know how much he had to prove to be here omg 😱 I’m shook I wish I could have been there I’m crying no cap fukin Tyler getting that appreciation he’s always so rightfully deserved

i love tyler's vision for colors and he is the only artist i've seen righ now in the industry that applies those colors on stage like no one, the way he uses the blue lights when he performs massa is so hypnotizing and complements so well with the enviroment, i love this man more with each passing day
