My ebike had only a 200 Watt motor which was Auatralia's or maybe in my State of Victoria's limit at the time. it was great it would sit at about just over 30 Km/H. it needs a new battery now as it cuts out all the time.

Make sure the series connections on the battery are thick cable like 10awg on batteries that arent powerfull because if the cableing is thin it will cause high resistance and high voltage sag.

make it completely diy, make your own supercaps at 5wh/kg and a put a dc motor inside the wheel, charge battery by dc pedal generator

When traveling long distance, should bring extra gears in case some break..... Sure much better then peddling ! ! !

Hi Kreosan! Just checking in to let you know that mid-drive (connected to bike gears) motors most often are brush-LESS. They are the most efficient and also have the most torque!

Protip: If the batteries don't have SAMSUNG printed on them, they're most likely not worth your money! Samsung batteries have a manufacture date code printed on them, which you can look up on the internet. Make sure your batteries are less than 2 years old if you want good cells. $1.50 per cell is a good deal for -26 or -29 type cells.

For anyone wanting to build something like this; please dont solder the battery cells together, the heat from the soldering iron is actually quite dangerous so close to the cells. Use a spot welder with some nickel strips instead.

Big gear is called a sun gear, small gears are called planetary gears, it is a planetary gear set...common in automatic transmissions

I got to the point of CAD drawings and purchasing parts for the design of my tandem eBike using a rear of any bike though more-so a free ride bike since better quality and suspension and then from the neck of the bike mounting a racing style recumbent front so that the bike can be a tandem trike, recumbent trike or cargo trike if the seat in the front is replaced with a storage box or container. I was planning on the bottom bracket that mounts the bottom of the bike frame and lower back of the recumbent to mount a small generator so can run to power the bike also if needed or have that area for storage as well as have saddle bags. Neat design and cost effective man!

I know it sounds crazy. But I found a 2200 watt motor I want to put on my bike. I'm no little guy and there alot of hills here. I'd say I'm nearly 3 of you. Over 300pounds. And 6'7" and I want a fast bike. I think a 72v 2200 watt motor will get a 26" mountain bike going kinda fast. I would like to keep the peddles but dont really matter. I was looking g for a disc break wheel and put a sprocket on the disc mount. And drive it on the opposite side. I also consider a 1800 watt motor bldc with the same mounting and setup. Only 48v I don't think a 350 watt motor will carry me that well!!! Great video..
