There are so many different types of hard lights available these days, it can be difficult to know the difference between a fresnel vs par or an open face light vs fresnel. What are they and how do they differ?
These are the questions I hope to answer in todays videos where we'll explore Par lights, fresnel lenses and open face lights. We'll compare them, to showcase their differences, as well as how each of them is constructed.
In this videos you'll see examples of different tungsten open face lights, such as the Arri 800 (or 800w redhead), fresnels such as the tungsten Arri 650 or 650+ as well as various fresnel attachments for COB LED's such as the Aputure 2x for the 120D II, the Nanlite Fresnels (FL-11 & FL-20G).
So if you've been wondering to yourself what are par lights or what are fresnels? - look no further.

Great video, Thank you ! What is the best choice between Read Head and Fresnel when you want to do a Split Lighting on a face in your opinion ?
@CreativePathFilms
@CreativePathFilms Год назад
Thank you! Fresnel in my opinion, you’ll get much cleaner results, more even illumination and more control of your beam with less spill.

Given you show a Dedolight @1.13, then surely you know what they are and what they can do, and how much better they are.

I do, I adore them. But as they use a completely different type of lens, they’re a topic for another video.

Am I the only one who notices his lip sync is way off?
@CreativePathFilms
@CreativePathFilms Год назад
Hey thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. Im not sure how this could be the case, the audio was recorded direct to camera and we haven’t adjusted the sync of the clips at all. I’m curious to know if anyone else is seeing/hearing what you’re seeing/hearing? I can’t see any obvious issues at our end when playing back the video…but then again we produced it, so…🤷🏻‍♂️
