Hi Beth, My question is in regards to large applications of interfacing to large yardage of fabric. This doesn't seem feasible to do at home. Are there companies out there that would be able to do a service like this for a fee?

I've got a problem with some of the poplin dresses I've interfaced with fusible interfacing. After some time in the closet the interfacing is peeling of some of the items around the neck facing. If I wanted to try sew in interfacing for cotton poplin, what do I ask for at the store?

Hello. You can simply ask for 'sew in' or ' non fusible' interfacing.

Which one would be good for a T-shirt Blanket/quilt

Hi, A medium weight fusible interfacing would be a good choice. There is actually a great one meant specifically for t-shirt quilts as well: www.nationalquilterscircle.com/product/stabili-tee-fusible-interfacing-tool/ Cheers, Ashley

can you use the fusing to stabilise fabric pieces not cut on the grain to make EPP hexagons or scrap quilts?

Where do you get the Ban-Rol waistband interfacing?
@NationalSewingCircle
@NationalSewingCircle 5 лет назад
You may be able to find it at local craft or fabric stores, however online may be easier: www.amazon.com/Yards-Wide-Ban-Roll-Waistbanding-Glue/dp/B00QZFZ96Y

I'm new to sewing and I am making my daighter princess skirts out of satin for Halloween. The issue I'm having is the waist is seaming to tear at the stitch holes area (if that makes sense). Would waist band interfacing help with this issue? Can the waist band interfacing be used in a waistband that has electic in it?
@NationalSewingCircle
@NationalSewingCircle 5 лет назад
Hi, Yes, interfacing can help with this issue, as it will give the fabric a little more body and stiffness. It can still be used if you are inserting elastic, however the interfacing will make the fabric stiffer- because of this, I recommend using a very lightweight interfacing so that it doesn't become too "bunched up" when the elastic gathers. Also, consider changing your needle to a smaller (thinner) size. It may be too big, and leaving too big of holes in your fabric, which can lead to the tearing as well. Cheers, Ashley

@@NationalSewingCircle I will pick up some lighweight interfacing to keep on hand if needed. I will try changing my neelde and see if that helps first. Thank you so much for the help.

I purchased the Peltex 70 for interface for a sewing machine cover, which is like an upside down box, it does not bring instructions....should I rinse before use, iron on before sewing?

How do I remove it and still use the fabric ?
@NationalSewingCircle
@NationalSewingCircle 7 лет назад
Hello Melusine. Once fused in place you will generally not be able to remove the interfacing without leaving some residue behind on the fabric- if you can even get it off at all. If sew in place interfacing has been used you can simply cut it away and use the fabric. Thanks
