Huge inspiration , I’m currently going through my Air Force Academy application now. I receive my nomination and I have my interview today. I hope to see you at the academy one day. Keep working hard my man!
Kyle M aye man I have some questions! So ima junior at high school and I still need to take my act and sats so I can get better scores, when do you think I should start applying and how do I get a nomination????
Buddsterr I’m pretty sure you can open an application for the class of 2023 right now if not you should be able to start very soon. The application process is pretty long and has a lot of steps so I recommend to start as soon as you can. Plus turning it in early wouldn’t hurt either. And as far as nominations go, depending on what kind of nomination you are looking for the dates are different. If you are looking to get a congressional nomination (that’s what I got) you should email your districts representative as well as your two senators and simply ask when you can start your application to get a nomination. Again the application process for some congressmen alone can be just as much as the Air Force Academy application itself so try to get it done as early as possible. Most applications are due by October/November. Goodluck !
Kyle M that’s great info, I want to start the applications during my summer when I finish my ACT’s and SAT’s which will probably be June and how do I get a hold of my district representatives and congressmen?? And is it hard to get a nomination?
Buddsterr To find your Senators you can just google “(your state) senators” and most senators have a website. You can then find an email to contact them. A lot of them also have special tabs for nominations on their website. If you want to find your districts representative go to www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative and follow the instructions. Again most reps have their own websites with an email to contact them and most likely a special tab for nominations. Nominations are very competitive. Some districts and states are more competitive than others. When your filling out your requests for a nomination just remember to try to put in anything you can that you think would make you stand out from the rest.
Leaving to Basic Training very soon, (been in DEP for 7 months now), and the job I have been patiently waiting for is Contracting. Do you know any information about that job? If not thanks anyways, & Big Thanks for the holiday vid, I hope to see more in the future! Happy New Year bro #USAF
Tres Sanchez two words: big bucks. If you go contracting for four years, then get out and do contracting as a civilian, youll be on the road to a 6 figure salary. Other than that- i don't know much about active duty contracting. I believe some of them get to travel, so thats good. Others work behind a desk, but the pay is good either way if you get out
ZRaptr Good Luck! Biggest piece of advice is you're first 3 days are gonna be hell but after you get your uniforms. It gets better. DONT VOLUNTEER FOR CHOW RUNNER!!!! Laundry is easy.
So quick question I’ve watched most of your videos and I’m in the process of enlisting. Out of curiosity does meps “help you out” with the height weight requirement or are they extremely strict? I’m borderline on the weight and I just wanna get in.
Michael Griffin Ok so I'm 5'7/5'8 and I am borderline aswell. When I went to MEPS I ever so slightly pushed off of my heels to give me 5'8 because I knew I was right on the edge of the next inch. With that said it gave me more height which in turn gave me five more pounds to work with. I hover around 170 and I can't hit 175 and 180 is the top. I recommend eating light at hotel and drinking a lot of water in the weeks or days leading up to MEPS. Do cardio and stay away from salt. Hope this helps.
Work flow and personal time are different with all career fields. One AFSC may have many days off and another will have very few. Both enlisted. The majority, if not all of AFSC's have CDC's. Just entails more studying and taking tests... even after doing a lot of that in tech training. So you will have to dedicate some of your enlisted free time studying for those.
Hey blue! Any math tips for the asvab? I passed the practice with a 31, and how similar is this to the real one? Please i need help!? Is slopes something i should brush up on, and finding the missing L or W? God bless man
Tiny Wolf finding the missing length and width? And slopes as in on graphs/ Cartesian planes? Yeah I'd defintely brush up on graphing arithmatic and basic algebra. I made a video going over some ASVAB topics called "ASVAB Breakdowns"
Ok thx man and I mean for example the Length is 3 more than the width the perimeter is 36 find the width, and please go over slopes? And word problems that are worth studying! Thx man ! God bless you!
Tiny Wolf I recommended buying an Asvab practice book. My friend bought one and after he took his test he said it was literally exactly like the asvab.
Tiny Wolf yeah with problems like that, you're looking at two variables (length and width) in one equation. Youll have to find a way to quantify width in terms of length. Or vice versa. If l = 3w, and perimiter= 36 Then assuming its a rectangle, then lengthx2 plus widthx2 should equal the perimiter. Shown below. 2(3w)+2(w)=36 Now you have one variable. So solve for w 8w=36 W=4.5 So width equals 4.5 Length is 3w, so length must equal 13.5. Check your work: (4.5x2)+(13.5x2)=36 36=36 Length=13.5 Width=4.5
Thank you man god bless! And when you make the video can you go over slopes please! I just wanan know enough about slopes to get those questions right! Also should i brush up on system of equations? And god bless you Blue!! Tysm!!
Hey man. I love your videos and I’ve watched them since before I joined the Air Force. I’m 19 and I would like to know more about the package you put together for the academy and any tips you’d have for other enlisted airmen trying to go the academy route.
I'm enlisting in the Air Force and I'm going to get my bachelor's degree while I'm enlisted. After I get that I'm going to try and become an officer. Would I go to the Academy to become an officer once I get my bachelor's degree?
Does the prep school need a different application? How do they determine if you go to the academy or prep school? What type of classes did you take? What was your SAT score?
What happens if you make it to the prep school but don’t get accepted to the academy? Does the prep school increase your chances? I have A’s B’s and 1 C. Is that too poor for the prep school?
Ethan Newcome If you get into the prep school and don't drop out, you will get into the academy. They use this for people with all their things together but just need a little bit higher grades or more education before starting classes in the academy.
Nice video WBY I'm almost out of tech school for a crew chief. I was wondering what are you getting your degree in? Are you gonna be a maintenance officer?
HEY WBY, IF I WERE TO GIVE 20 LOCATIONS IS IT A SLAM DUNK GUARANTEE THAT I WILL GET IN ONE OF THOSE LOCATIONS? OR DO THEY NOT TAKE MY SUGGESTIONS SERIOUSLY?
The Air Forces new tattoo regulations is basically no tattoos on your neck/face & hands. Everywhere else is allowed. And of course all tattoos have to be appropriate
USAFA ‘22? Best of luck. Would be good to see you here -Trent (USAFA ‘21) let me know if you have any questions about doolie year. I can drop my phone number
