Don't know if you watched the other card game before that one with Kitten vs the Emperor. Background joke of both is, how the Emperor got a lot of completely broken cards which make on already powerful monster even stronger. While Tzeentch he simply has a deck completely made out of banned cards.

Here some background on why Tzeentch gave Magnus wings here. There are several different Warhammer 40k set games you can buy and play besides base 40k. Two of these are set during the Horus Hersey. There is Horus Heresy Age of Darkness and ow Legions Imoerialis. Horus Heresy age of darkness is a 28mm game these is based on a modified version of 40k's 7th exciting rules. You can play as several factions including All 18 legions, the Mechanicus and the Dark Mechicanicum, the Cusrodes with the Sisters of Silence, and the solar auxiila( basically Great crusade imperial guard). This game came out originally around 2013 and is in its second edition all the Primarchs are playable on the tabletop and have resin models, a few of the traitor primarchs, specifically Horus and Fulgrim have both a normal model and a more Chaos model. Legions imperials is similar but played with much smaller models allowing you to field larger armies because some units have multiple models on each base. In current 40k as of the current edition. 5 primarchs are playable 3 traitors and now 2 Loyalist. The currently playable for the traitors are Magnus of the Thousand Sons, Mortarion of the Death Guard, and Angron or the World Eaters. They have all been daemon Primarchs since the heresy. Currently On the loyalist side are Roubute Guilliman of the Ulltramarines and Lion El'Jonson of the Dark Angels(aka The Lion). the Lion and Angron just came into 40k last spring in March for Angron and in April/May for the Lion. The 5 primarchs in 40k all have plastic models rather than resin with different weapon loadouts, updated suits of armor and in the case of the traitors wings. Also the Lion has significantly physically aged. The resin heresy model of the Lion looks like Jaime Lannister with a beard, the plastic 40k model makes him look like Tywin Lannister (Jamie's father). Another example is heresy era lion wielded a long sword or a chain sword and his model for that game comes with both. 40k Lion has a one handed sword and the Emperors shield while Guilliman wields rhe Emperors sword.(there is a joke that as more loyalist primarchs return the Emperor armory will continue to be raided). So the Magnus without wings is what he looked like in the Great crusade and the Magnus with wings is what he looks like from early in the heresy onwards.

Magnus saying he plays Red/Blue is a reference to Magic The Gathering. Another very popular trading card game where Red focuses on doing a lot of fast damage and Blue focuses on Field Control and Spells. It's a perfect deck choice for his nerdy mage self.

And 5 years after that episode was released, a collaboration between Wizards of the Coast and Games Workshop resulted in a Magic set based on Warhammer 40K. And the colors for the card Magnus the Red? Red and Blue (fitting considering both his powers and philosophy). Talk about coincidence.

You guys should at some point watch The Last Church. It plays roughly 10.000 years before the 41st millenium, when the Emperor was in his glory.

Hello! Curious - are you considering playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake in the near future? I know you've said previously that you wanted to wait for all 3 games to be released before playing Remake, but you may have changed your minds. Rebirth is released at the end of February.
