Got the Type S three weeks ago. The perfect car for a young professional!

All 3 cars are great…TLX being the 3rd. The only difference, which car will not lose much in depreciation. I think the TLX Type S will depreciate more vs. the Type R or the Integra Type S. I prefer the Civic Type R more than the Inegra.

NOT ME, I WILL BUY A FULLY LOADED 2024 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER PHEV AND A FULLY LOADED 2024 ACURA INTEGRA TYPE S PMC EDITION ANYWAY.

That being a spec racer. The reason Type R has a markup is because it's actually a better drivers car.

cars being almost identical in terms of power, winner goes to the better driver. In this case, it is the asian guy in the hat. When he was in the S, he was able to win the 1/4 due to his driving skill. Same applies when he was driving the CTR. The Integra jumped the start. But the CTR was able to basically win the 2nd part of race due to his proper late braking and corner exit.

I recently bought a Integra type S.. I really had a hard time deciding between the TLX Type S and the ITS. I have driven the TLX with all wheel drive, it was simply mind blowing the way it handled the road. Simply amazing. The fact that the TLX is an entirely original car - frame and mechanical torque vectoring and all- makes it , in my mind the best sedan available on Earth. Truly an engineering masterwork.

AWD allows better launches but it also raises the curb weight, so lower trap speeds. RWD/FWD cars will trap faster because of less weight, but also launch slower.

​@@TheBreakfastLoverYes, you can see when they introduce the TLX it has a full pound more per HP than the Integra. But, to blanket say FWD/RWD cars are faster is misleading; the TLX is particularly heavy in its class. An M340 xDrive would annihilate every car here and still be pulling in the top end, but I'll take the TLX frontend over the 3 series kidneys any day 😁

Keep in mind they are racing at 3000 ft elevation. At normal altitude they are pulling mid 13's.

They were staying true to the Integra heritage as a nimble FF tuner. Also they needed to keep some product differentiation between the tlx and teggy. I think if it sticks around long enough to get a new generation they'll loosen up and add sh awd, or maybe an option for it.

Type R is really a great car for the track hence why it's got so much down force. I was shocked that they did only clock mid to hi 14s in the quarter

That wing slows the type R down massively in the straights. If the Type R didn't have the wing the Type S wouldn't pull that hard on it....

100%..i commented above i did a 14.6 in my rsx type S and all I had at the time was CAI and AVS ES100 tire…Did a 13.9 w/ CAI, Hondata, Cat back, and Header..

The Integra type S is manual also

What if type S had those tires? It is what it is…

When dyno'd (Savage Geese, I think) the type S had a bit more torque in the mid-range. It also dyno'd at 10-15 more horsepower than the type R, not 5.

Wing is irrelevent in the slow turn but definately causes drag on the straight.

Type R also has grippier tires

@@Andrw025 which should give it an advantage when it launches, but it doesn't so at all with that 6.2s 0-60 time.

Doesn't matter the trap speed alone was higher in the Acura. This is a drivers race. They can bring more CTRs and ITSs and the result will vary. Both cars are literally identical.

@@Marbind I wasn't suggesting that, they claimed the cup 2 tires would give the FS5 an advantage off the line, and all I am saying is that is not necessarily true. In fact if anything it most likely hurt it off the line. Those tires are meant for road racing so the they have stiff sidewalls and the compound is made to work well when they are hot. Cold cup 2 tires are actually worse for drag racing (which they are not designed for), and even if they were up to temperature the stiff sidewall makes them very hard to launch well (especially with FWD). When they are cold they actually have less grip than the MPS4, and that combined with the stiffer sidewalls... This is why they are a terrible tire for street driving where they are almost never up to operating temps. So they wear quickly, are terrible in the wet, and offer less performance unless you are driving with extreme aggression for extended periods (which is not easy to do on the street and ill advised). Plus with the stiff sidewall they are not made for launching, they are for going around corners after one or two warm up laps. That is why he was complaining about wheel hop when launching the FS5. While you can use them on the street, it is a really bad idea. All I am saying is that they should have tried to warm the tires up before this test, and that whenever possible it is better to have all cars on the same (or at least similar tires), and that the cups 2 is not an advantage in this type of test, and if anything probably hurt it a bit. Regardless I agree these two cars are so close as to be irrelevant, I don't understand why anyone thinks this would be a meaningful comparison. We already knew this is the same basic car with different looks, one has better seats and one has a slightly softer suspension, and five more horsepower.

Hp is about +10 and tq about +15 from their factory numbers. Until heat soak then they both drop below 300 hp. I'm building my fl5 right now. Just being held back on a hpfp and injectors from xdi.

Integra type s starts at the same price as audi S3 which is based on same platform as the Golf and has 306 hp

yeah but the power t weight ration is better in the integra. its faster than a tlx

The integra is more agile than the TLX. It can clock lower times around a track. That is reason behind the price. The ITS seems to be bigger in the outside but in the inside has the dimensions of a compact. The integra has more legroom believe it or not.

The wing would not have made any difference in cornering at the low speeds of this corner. But might have added some drag for lower top end.

Model 3P doing consistent low-11sec quarter mile while these two are at 14.6. Definitely hard to justify MSRP for these, much less the mark-ups. Manual transmission and good resale value are a big plus though.

@@SIIKAP1 that is what I was thinking too because I saw many videos of the previous gen doing 13 seconds all day. So, how on earth are these videos showing high 14 seconds with thr new whips. That is night and day. Even a bad track should not take off a whole second to second and a half range.

Is called inflation. 2008 $30Ks are equivalent to $43K today. Add taxes + dealer fees and that cobalt will cost today almost 50K.

Anyone that pays 70k for a 315hp civic needs to truly get there head examined.

The Stinger was discontinued and the G70 is being discontinued without a direct replacement at the end of its cycle.
