This came to me a few hours later but her complaint about the time needed for her to open up made me think of a savage reply à la Archer style(but with kid's gloves off). "I don't know and I don't think you knew either given that you haven't made a single real friend since you were a kid and all you've done since then is fit the mold of a model student, walk the path of a magus as well as sometimes be prickly towards Kirei." Sorry Rin, but I couldn't resist thinking of a good reply with how much you've been going off this whole series while Archer will only get his real chance to let off steam in the coming episode.

@@ditto7380 That's just what Gil calls Archer/Shirou because of their particular brand of magic that they specialize in, ie: projection. Their projections (like Kanshou & Bakuya, Caladbolg, Caliburn, etc) are not the original or authentic versions of those weapons, ergo they are "fakes". This is EXTREMELY irritating to Gil because he literally has the original originals of basically every Noble Phantasm weapon ever. Gil's Noble Phantasm is the originals/prototypes of every Noble Phantasm since they were initially all gathered in one place: his treasury.

is never clear from what timeline archer is so he may actually still had avalon and even if he doesn't it is cannon that avalon stay with shiro for so long that change his origin to sword and is the only Noble Phantasm he can Projection 100 percent and is fuse to him to and extend that the one he give to saber in the fate route was not the real one but a perfect copy since avalon is know a part of him and he cant undo it but cant make as many copies of avalon as he want but with out saber they are useles. @@whateverwhatever4476

@@jahrusalem3658I'll be honest, I never really got that part. Working for the counter force implies that, in whatever situation he's in, he'll always help save humanity, right? The CF puts its' guardians into positions that give them the ability to change a cataclysmic event, as far as I understand. By working in the service of this, does he not save just about 99% of people? If Archer-Emiya just hasn't gotten over his ideals of saving everyone, should centuries of serving as a CG not have modified that at least a bit? Especially considering Shirou and his ideals change somewhat during all three routes, does that not prove that his ideals are not set in stone?

@@thisisnotaplaceholdername I should start by saying this is my interpretation of things, I could be wrong. Well first things first, Shirou is - by our definitions - completely insane. His common sense is just different from ours. When Shirou hears a gunshot, his first instinct isn't "I should stay away from that." It's "I NEED to go help whoever is getting shot." So from that, Shirou treasures human life to a literally insane degree. So every life lost hurts him down to his soul. And Archer - while different from Shirou - is still Shirou. And every Shirou seems to hold that facet, that little bit of themselves that wants to be a hero. So yes, they ARE helping more people than ever as a CG, but the only parts Archer sees are the numerous massacres he commits. He never stays long enough to see the peace he brought, only the murder.

@@gonzoss3998 If I remember correctly (which I may not be, as I've not played the VN in roughly a decade), Archer never actually formed a contract with Medea, so he was using his own mana for everything. The Independent Action skill lets him stick around without a Master for a decent while before finally disappearing.

He's also aware of the difference in power between them. Rho Aias and UBW are decent tools to have, but this is Gil who has GoB and Ea, and clairvoyance. It's a battle of attrition that Gil probably pulls Ea early for just to get it over with. I don't get why people think Archer-EMIYA has some kind of guaranteed win on Gilgamesh. If they're basing it on the Shirou fight, that was less Gilgamesh getting out-played and more him not taking it seriously since by all accounts, Shirou was punching SEVERAL times above his weight class. Gilgamesh likely knows that Archer-EMIYA is a counter-guardian and has a toolbox to handle most situations. Gilgamesh is not "most situations."

@@BobNinjaCatpeople believe Archer-EMIYA could defeat Gil base on two fights Archer vs. Hercules in the Fate route and Shirou vs. Gil in UBW. Not only that but Gil's biggest weakness his arrogance. Don't get me wrong Shirou/Emiya will always lose to Gil if he took things a smidge more seriously he would have won both Grail wars. While Archer-Emiya if given a suitable mana battery/source and doesn't have any reason to spare someone would always go in for the kill.

I can’t believe I wanted a proper conversation between characters about alternate route and only archer could have given that to us and he does not. I wanted a saber and archer conversation about their love and between Rin and archer about how Shirou pulled Saber, and I like how rin called archer out and letting Shinji have her.
