Based on watching the driving of the cars I see with a dashcam in them I now assume that they're, at best, a sanctamonious tit or, at worst, utterly incompetent. And that goes twice as much when they've got a rear mounted camera.

Some cammers have no idea how to look after themselves. Like the first clip- they've just seen two crazy idiots race past, then they pull right up almost to the rear bumper of one of them in a situation where they (the racers) obviously may well just reverse quickly for an escape, not caring about damaging other vehicles. Steer well clear of insane people and criminals!

I believe the poor standard of driving instructing has led to a complete lack of quality drivers out there who can know when and where the high way code applies point in case merge in turn lanes are there to contain traffic in a much smaller area and not allow traffic to interfere with other carriage ways! Yet time and again we see merge in turn lanes being misused by people including dashcam owners!

I can never understand what that achieves. If anything, it antagonises the guilty party ( which it did in this case ) but Andy needs to look at his own driving before highlighting others and for me, got his comeuppance for being a lane hogging knob.

I don't get the Andy hate. He was keeping up with the car in front of him in the lane AND was overtaking multiple cars on the left; he passes one at 9:06 before the undertake and another at 9:24 after it, 21 seconds later in real, non-sped-up time (and my best guess is he would have passed it at about 9:21 if he hadn't had to slow down 15mph as a result of being cut up by the undertaker). Staying in the right lane in those circumstances was entirely correct behaviour by Andy; it was safer than moving left only to have to move right again 10 seconds later for the next overtake, and wasn't slowing down the lane since there was no way to go faster than the car in front.

Oh dear. Excessive - and impotent - use of the horn seems to be a theme this week. There's quite a few non-cammers going for their own version of ToTW, but sadly, they don't qualify for anything other than a Section 172 Notice. Anyway, some of the cammers are well up for it. Dave M, Steve B and Honkin' Herb among them. Andy S is a deserved winner in my book, just for his sheer persistence. Let's all just breathe deeply and remember that it's not a legal requirement to make the situation worse.

Got in an argument recently with someone that said you SHOULD do 65 on these roads 'because they're the national speed limit plus a bit you can't get done for'. I'm pretty sure if you crash into someone head on and you're both doing 65, getting done by the police for speeding is the least of your worries!

@@prestonrule8257 you conveniently missed the part about slow moving traffic. Here it is just for you. Rule 134 You should follow the signs and road markings and get into the lane as directed. In congested road conditions do not change lanes unnecessarily. Merging in turn is recommended but only if safe and appropriate when vehicles are travelling at a very low speed, e.g. when approaching road works or a road traffic incident. It is not recommended at high speed.

He’s following another car with no more than a 2 second gap. And he only just over takes a car on the left with further traffic in the left on the horizon. Why does he have to move over the the left? He’s not holding traffic up and is traveling at the same pace as the car in front and much faster than the left lane traffic.

What scares me most is how many of these incidents can be seen from so far away and yet the dashcammer does nothing to avoid them. Doesn't mean the offending party isn't an arse but I still don't get why they keep on going even though they know it's about to happen. A dashcam is not a get out of jail free card, if you don't attempt to avoid, correct, etc you will find youself equaliy at fault.

I believe the reason why many dashcammers in these clips don't react early is because they are looking for footage to send in. They deliberately try and create a dangerous situation to make it seem more dramatic.

6:58 One thing is clear : the pedestrian had priority, and all traffic *must* give way to him. They did. It caused a little contrabulation on the road, but everybody seemed to sort it without aggression or honking. Thank you for showing how _good_ drivers react in such circumstances.

I've had this a few times. I often work late into the evening, so I'm in a getting home mood. There is one road I use, National Limit, excellent visibility, no side turnings or houses for a few miles. I often come up behind people doing 45mph, so where safe to do so I pass at 60, and most times they blow their horn. Then we get to a village a few miles later, and they come up behind me still doing 45mph in a 30 flashing lights etc behind me, sometimes overtaking me in the 30, before we get back to a National where I catch up and repass them as they're still doing 45mph 😂

Pretty sure most dash cams dont record in super high resolution to allow easy storage of more tham a short video file etc. Higher quality video is gonna eat most SD cards space.

modern dash cams will automatically override videos if they haven't been saved or an accident detected. You can add a large capacity SD card as well. My mum and dad put a 64GB in their Garmin dash cameras, records around 5 hours of video in total, quality is decent too@@ExaltedwithFail

@@Aeronaut1975 you can read the plates in most although even the ones you cant read it, in a crash where both parties stop and one tried to lie, the video can easily be used to show what happened. Most dont use dash cams for making youtube videos but rather backing up insurance or police related issues.

Rule 112 of the Highway Code states: 'The horn. Use only while your vehicle is moving and you need to warn other road users of your presence. Never sound your horn aggressively. You must not use your horn: while stationary on the road when driving in a built-up area between the hours of 11.30 pm and 7.00 am except when another road user poses a danger.' Brush up on your highway code cammers. 🙂

@7:40 car pulled out probably before they even saw the cam driver. Cam driver a bell end who doesn't slow down early to reduce risk, but wants to get close to honk their horn for no reason what so ever. Then is such a special bell-end they send it in to a RU-vid channel.

There are no lights coming from the mini's direction, however between 7:57 and 7:58 if you look to the middle left of the screen at the traffic divider you can just make out double dashed give way lines.

I now understand why I can be sat at home and hear horns going for extended periods. Because apparently every minor transgression, real or imagined, requires several minutes of continuous horn sounding. I guess screw any shift workers who are trying to sleep, more important to express your dissatisfaction with another road user and screw whoever you disturb in the process. It's almost like there should be a rule that horns are only used when it's immediately necessary to warn another another road user of your presence and only for a long as required for the warning to be noticed, so as to minimise the disturbance to others.

Why do a lot of drivers think being overtaken is wrong? Unless there are signs or road markings saying you cant its pefectly legal. If you are a slow driver you have to expect it.

The 'who's at fault' question on Paj's clip. If you pause at 7:57 you can see the mini had give way lines. It's not very clear due to blurry cam footage but you can see them. Cammer had green filter light and the right of way. Mini should have given way.

@@RichO1701e Rule 172 The approach to a junction may have a ‘Give Way’ sign or a triangle marked on the road. You MUST give way to traffic on the main road when emerging from a junction with broken white lines across the road. If someone MUST give way to you, then you have right of way, so wind your neck in daft twat.

Andy S, 1 you are in the wrong lane when notnovertaking keep left, so people dont dangerously undertake (the guy was in the wrong for undertaking) but keep left. 2) horn is used for alerting of a danger / hazard not for revenge, this is also a danger to other road users.

Dashcams should make people drive better because they record their own bad behaviour.... but a few drivers deliberately drive as though they don't expect anyone else to be using the roads in order to create content.
