UK Inbetweeners vs USA Inbetweeners - Tier List Edition 

In hindsight I'd move Will's mum and Jay's dad up a tier. Sorry lads poor decision from me.

Let's be real here, any British person has met a Will, Simon, Jay & Neil at least once in their life in secondary school/college... well the UK versions anyways... so glad I have never met a USA Jay in my life 🤣

From a passer by viewer of your channel: I've watched your videos sporadically and really enjoyed them - usually when you appear on my recommended - and I almost always click on to see a new instalment. From this vid and from hearing you on some of your other videos, you seem to be at a bit of a loss as to where to go from here on out as a channel since this series has reached its natural conclusion, but I think the easy answer lies here in the comments section of your videos. I've seen several people on a number of your videos ask you to do a side by side review of other UK/US shows, and I think that's a market that has a lot of potential. It doesn't matter how many of these other shows you've seen to date, because your audience clearly really enjoys your reactions and I think it would even be interesting to see if there were US remakes you think stand up or are even better than their UK counterparts. Just because your success to date has mainly been from amusingly trash this show with your coarse, withering tone doesn't mean you are limited to only being able to do that. Your honesty and your humour and your biggest tools, and so long as you approach future series with that at the forefront, you will be grand. Ultimately, my advice would be to start to binge some more fun series with multiple national versions and brand yourself as that person who weighs in and weighs up the two versions. It's proved to be a really fun and entertaining format. the demand is clearly there for more, and from the success of this series, you should have the belief that you're the chap to continue bringing that to the RU-vid community. I'd maybe put the UK Charlotte in good. She helped hold Will to account and without her some of the memorable scenes and plotlines wouldn't have been the same.

UK jay deserves a tier of his own, one if”of the greatest tv characters of all time.

When you consider Joe Thomas ( Uk Simon) and Kara Tointon who played Tara are married in real life it shows how good the Uk version is after the scenes they were in in the Warwick Uni episodes

I think Carly (UK) was supposed to be a bit boring. She seemed like she was mainly just supposed to be the pretty, popular girl Simon fancied for reasons only known to himself.

Honestly I almost entirely agree with this - would've had Jay's dad at the lower end of Good though, he definitely deserves higher than Alright - and I'd probably put Brie at the higher end of Bus Turd, not only was the whole aspect of Jay having a 13yr old girlfriend an utterly Godawful idea, but the character herself was just so terrible - not knowing her left and right, getting her first period while she had already been dating Jay for a while, her sickly sweet child-like attitude - it was just unbearable

LUMBARDI is GOATED for putting Gilbert at the very top. I love all 4 main characters with a passion almost equally, but Gilbert is the only choice for number 1 in my opinion

Also, the actress who played Samantha was arrested and charged for domestic violence a couple years back

Mostly agree. I think I would have put UK Donovan just before UK Niel's dad because he got more screen time and like you said a very realistic bully. Even though Will was his main target it wasn't like a random choice. He hated Will because he got with Charlotte giving Donovan realistic motivation. I also enjoyed how friendly he acted whenever there were parents around very different to when there isn't.

USA Todd should be GOATED. Sure, he wasn't as realsitic as the UK Todd, but he was the only character in the US version who actually had some funny lines.

Maybe next compare British vs. American versions of other shows, there may be some obscure ones but the office is an obvious choice that you'd probably actually enjoy. But also, Da Ali G show and Bad education would be right up your alley I think.

I think the main problem with the US version was the casting director. The four main characters just seemed a bit uncomfortable on their roles or didn’t ‘own’ them. If your wondering what else to make videos on why don’t you carry on comparing UK to US sitcoms as there are so many and they nearly all failed.

I think UK Charlotte should have gone in "Good". Compared to UK Carly, I thought UK Charlotte had better and funnier scenes, especially with Will, and delivered them very well!

Genuinely surprised that you didn't put ever UK character above every US character. I mean you mostly did. But i thought it would be a full rundown of the UK characters best to worst followed by a full rundown of the US characters.

I can't understand why the US does these shit remakes. Is there actually a market for this? Like does anybody in here know any Americans who are like "oh no different accents and cultural refferences I can't understaaand it" , I mean I'm not English either but they put these shows on TV in NZ as they are and they're well recieved, and I see loads of comments from Americans on stuff like Peep Show saying how hilarious they find these shows, so I can't understand why US companies pull this shit
