The UK Independence Party MEP who complained about British aid being sent to "bongo-bongo land" has said he regrets any "genuine offence" over his use of the phrase, but - confusingly - says he won't say sorry.
Tanzanians call their country Bongo land.. it comes from Ubongo which means brains.. in a country with lowest of salaries that never took anyone to the next pay check.. one had to use their brains to create extra income.. This is the reality of a any third world country where aid and government finances usually go unaccounted for; emblezzled, mismanaged and/or finance political campaigns which do not help infrastructural or social amenities needs of people.. When a western govern provides a financial support to any third world country they better be aware that the money is likely to find wrong routes than intended.. ITS A FACT.. And NOT racism.. The guy wasn't wrong.. problem with UK now is whatever they dont know will be branded 'racism' by some dickheads... Truth has to be told anyways.. shove political correctness..
+Lucien Rubempre No, you're a useful idiot who feels superior every time he gets to call someone racist over the thinnest of premises. You have an actual African, w/ inside baseball information, telling you it's a legit term and where it originated from and you're still up on your high horse. Keep ruining your own country one self serving (but country ruining) accusation at a time, moron.
Not a problem, pretty innocuous. The disease of liberalism makes a comment like that offensive, but if you think about it, it's really not.............sounds like a rhyme off Congo, or the bongo drums, basically a reference to a poor nation in Africa, or perhaps some other remote location.
