The 2020 Santa Fe didn't have any big changes for this model year but it's probably the most underrated 2 row suv there is. I was impressed by how well it performed in each category. Overall, this 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited model has tons of features, it's comfortable, practical, and provides a big bang for buck compared to some other competitors.
5 likes and dislikes on this 2020 Santa Fe: • Here's What's Good & B...

Also worth mentioning that the Santa Fe (as well as the KIA Sorento) has a 110V household power outlet located at the back of the center console. It's a relatively rare feature and extremely useful for powering a laptop computer or other small appliances.

We got our Santa Fe AWD SEL 2.4L in red yesterday. We are by no means rich people and my wife cried after paying for it because she gets emotional after big purchases. Within 15 minutes of driving, she had the biggest smile on her face. She deserves something nice.

Going to give an update. We’ve had this vehicle for nigh three weeks now and I am my usual self. Inquiring what all the buttons do and how does the vehicle work, what information is the vehicle giving me? I have been blown away by all that the car is capable of telling me from tire pressure to what the ratio of the awd is on each wheel going up a hill. When you dig deep, you can find the most amazing features just built right in.Then it comes to the app. Wow. The CarPlay is fun. Hook your phone in and get navigation and audio. If you want a nice drive, this car is great. It’s simple enough to get the basics. If you really want to get involved in what this vehicle offers though, you will be absolutely blown away.

I’ve had the Sonata as my first car in 2011, my current Elantra since 2014, and now I’m ready for the Santa Fe! Never thought at age 27 I’d have 3 different Hyundai’s lol. Thanks

I purchased a 2020 Santa Fe SEL with the smaller engine and it does a really good job on pickup and go. I never cared for the turbo lag with turbo engines, I like the instant response of the smaller engine. Great bang for the buck with all the driving technology available on it. Test drive and compare.

I'm of two minds about small displacement turbo engines. I love the 2.0L turbo in my GTI and when I considered a Mustang last year I was impressed by the 2.3L Ecoboost 4 banger in that application. On the other hand in vehicles that come close to 2.5 tons when loaded with fuel, passengers, and gear, I'm strongly inclined to prefer a larger displacement naturally aspirated V6. I'm simply skeptical about the long term durability if not the initial performance of smaller displacement engines, turbo or naturally aspirated.

One tip for anyone with a 2019+ SF: Since the tire jack is so rarely needed, I pulled out the styrofoam piece it's stored in and used a knife to cut just a bit of foam off the length. This allowed me to easily fit it into one of the farther back underfloor storage compartments and freed up the other side of the more convenient underfloor storage which also allows you to put long items in there like a large umbrella

So glad these 2020 videos are still out there. Bought the 2020 Santa Fe SEL with convenience. Incredible machine! Bought it just before the big February 2021 monster snow storm. The Santa Fe cut right through the snow (granted, it was not too deep where I live but it was insanely cold). It's a mid-size AWD (correction, HTRAC!), I do quite a bit of highway driving and can get 30 mpg average over the course of a fill-up. My salesman and I even put the full size tire on as a spare and it still hasn't zapped the miles per gallon. Used to have a CRV, but needed a bigger vehicle. It checked the most boxes. Love it!

Excellent review. We purchased a 2020 Ultimate in August. We looked at every midsize SUV after someone creamed our CRV. The quiet of the interior is astounding. I was told it has some kind of sound deadening windshield. The seats are excellent. I am 6 2. The drivers seat has a depth adjustment in the front which compensates for my tiny wife. After having bad drivers cream the minivan and the classic Jaguar XK8, I was looking for safety and I got it. Love the side mirror displays, the side sensors, the parking camera. I was backing out of a Costco space and an aggressive driver whipped into the lane and the car stopped itself. A driver tried the slick move of cutting left 1 foot from our front on the highway and it immediately self braked. The auto lane assists works well, but we turn it off for country roads. It even has a feature where, if someone is getting ready to hit you in a rear quarter, it will kick the car with the opposite rear brake in attempt to jog it over. We have the 2 liter, non turbo. We got 31MPG on a trip to NY a few weeks ago. Is it underpowered? Yes. Do I mind? No. If I want to go fast, I have a supercharged car for that. It’s not a tow vehical and it gets up to speed and exceeds just fine. Heated and cooled seats...way better than the Lexus and way less expensive. Paid more for this than the old CRV, but the ride and handling is superior. So far, I love it.

My wife and I must pick between this and our Genesis G80 and we pick this every time. Happy THANKSGIVING Nolan!! We are PROUD Owners of this Santa Fe. 2019 loaded SEL Model. with 3000 miles. I like this in the Red matches my new Impala. well, Impala is deeper red. The Lane Keep Assit the best, the added hidden compartments. My dislikes are the missing Remote Start and having to use BlueLink. The interior is A+++ The 2 tone design just works for me.and the performance is Good. Nolan We drove the Turbo and the base engine The base didn’t have the lag and we felt very comfortable pulling out onto heavy traffic and feel the engine will last longer in the long run. So sd went with the SEL PLUS as is the MPG’s. Safety Features luxury cars do not have like the Back door not opening if a car is coming. And Something that shocked me on these Santa Fe is the Quiet Cabin and the Ride. I thought the previous Santa Fe’s 2017 was damn good but this is on a whole new level. It seems quieter than my Impala. Love the Pano Roof, my Impala Pano Roof is nice but Santa Fe is crazy good. The dealer we bought from in Kneene, NH. gives LIFETIME Transferable powertrain warranty. We paid $4000 under suggested retail. Which was $31K $410 a month Zero APR. Financing. No money or trade down. Great Review

I JUST BOUGHT A 2020 ELITE 2.0T, AND I'M IN LOVE WITH IT. QUIET, STURDY, SOLID. THE DRIVER ASSIST IS FANTASTIC. DITTO FOR THE AUTO WIPERS. IT WILL BY ITSELF COME TO A COMPLETE STOP FROM THE LEADING CAR. ONE NEAT THING IS THAT YOU CAN DIAL IN THE SPEED, AND IT SHOWS ON THE DASH. THE COOL PART IS AFTER A STOP, AFTER 20 MPH, HIT RESUME AND IT TAKES YOU BACK TO THE SPEED YOU SET. THE HEADSUP IS FANTASTIC; EVEN SHOWS THE SPEED LIMIT. ALSO THE REAR SEATS SLIDE AND RECLINE. TONS OF ROOM, AND THERE IS A PLACE TO HIDE YOUR CARGO COVER UNDER THE FLOOR. I HATE TO GET OUT OF IT.

We have a 2020 SEL 2.0t awd. We love it. The espresso brown interior is the best I’ve seen, especially in this price range. We have the white as well. The 2.0t has plenty of power. The turbo lag isn’t bad at all. It’s a lot better than the 2.4. Passing on the highway is really good. We really thought the Santa Fe was the best in its class. Maybe even better than some luxury SUVs when you compare and factor in the price.

@@tonyvargas368 we really don't notice the turbo lag. City mpg isn't great. Depending on how we are driving, it can get belong 20 mpg a bit around 17-18 mpg. If you're not stomping on the gas it makes a big difference. Highway was good. We drove from NY to NC and we got in the mid-20s or so. I have a 2020 Santa Fe top of the range model with every option I could get except for a roof rack and a hitch. I’m very pleased with the vehicle and the price for all the options was excellent. The vehicle feels refined and rides quieter and smoother than I imagined it would. My only complaint is that the gas pedal is a bit difficult to modulate and I would have liked to had the no longer available v6 but the power in the turbo is acceptable. I do love the darkened chrome, on mine it is kind of a gold tone to it. I have the blue color.

What I don’t like on mine is: the engine start/stop thing when you get to a light. It should be off for default instead of on - requiring you to push a button to disable it. Secondly, the tilt steering wheel is manual. Love our G80 with automatic wheel which changes for driver #1 or #2. Other than those two things I’m good!

Thanks for the great review. The big concern for me is the Santa Fe's low power to weight ratio (6 hp/100 lbs) and the false sense of fuel economy from the 2.0L turbo. Many buyers will skip over the sluggish naturally aspirated 2.5L and go directly to the smaller turbocharged 2.0L in order to satisfy their need for more pep. Unfortunately, real world fuel economy will suffer for some of the more spirited Santa Fe drivers. I found the vehicle is just too heavy not to "give it" when accelerating from a stop. The Santa Fe would definitely be better off with the Lambda 3.3L V6. At least make it an option.

I bought my first Hyundai in 2014 (2011 santa fe). I had just moved to Canada and i was looking for a used SUV for under 20k. I picked up the Hyundai and I said... eh this will do for a couple of years till i situate in the country bbecause hyundai is a low class brand. I loved it and I loved how at 160.000km I had no major problems rather than front ball joints ($400cad) for it. I test drove the 2016 Santa Fe in 2018 but I ended up not buying it because I realized leasing a car is not worth it (and I wasn’t looking to spend 30k at that moment). I also loved the 2016 Santa Fe Sport. Now that I’m finally going to buy a new car, I will definitely go for a used 2019 Santa fe with the new style, or even a brand new 2020!!!

Maybe I understand the way you go for a used vehicle but trust me, this last santa fe deserved to have it brand new. I have the second trim from the bottom up, and is amazing, get use to the driver Mode like confort on the city, sport on the xpressway and eco.. Eco.. Eco never eco ha hahaha, let us know what did you buy

chamomiami I test drove the 2020 luxury, which is a trim above yours. They quoted me 48.000 (with tax) for it and 5.600 (which I found bad deal) for trading in for my 2011 Santa Fe. I believe i can get 7.000-8.000 since the car is certified private party. Also, I find that 48.000 is a bit too expensive for an SUV. My 2011 is still going strong, and since for years im indecisive as hell I’ll just keep it a little longer. How is yours doing so far?
@randomvids2882
@randomvids2882 4 года назад
Excuse me, 48k is expensive for an SUV for me, might not for others. I like the Preffered trim which is the one you got but I want those few extra options and details, such as chrome detailing on the extrerior, the luxury wheel rims and the extra few safety packages
@chamomiami
@chamomiami 4 года назад
@@randomvids2882 I see and agree that 48k is too high, I just to have a 2018 santa fe lease and they called me to buy it from me I say I wanna wait and they insisted so I just showed up and I write a price on a paper.. And after a ping pong price discussion asking for a down payment... I ended paying what I wanted.. Btw they pay for that year remaining of lease and that suv was sold in like tree amazing weeks (the 2018) whatever.. So far so good, if you ask I wish I had a better sound system even I never play loud bud shoul sound better and maybe bigger wheels size.. Oh and automatic rear door. Nothing more. My trim is full of safety.. If I want more definitely go for the Palisade

I love your videos, but one thing you might do sometime is how many times you could count yourself saying "as well". It kind of reminds me of counting how many times Dan Akroyd said the line "We're on a Mission from God" from the Blues Brothers. I know it's kind of like the habit some people say "the bottom line is" or "do you hear what I'm saying". Good review. One other thing, IF YOU get the opportunity to speak with these car manufacturers. Have they ever thought about making the Video Screen to have a Tilt option so you can set it the way you want to? I'm surprised no one has yet addressed this, especially Honda's screen that slopes too far forward.

I had the 2019 ultimate non-turbo, the gas mileage was terrible. I averaged between 16 and 17 in the city and 22 on the highway if I was lucky. I traded that in for a 2019 mustang GT and I was averaging 17 to 18 in the city and 26 on the highway. I’m trading the mustang in 2 weeks for a 2020 outback. Hyundai should partner with Mercedes and give us an AMG V12 bi-turbo just for you to stop bitching about the engine. This engine great and it is much quieter when compared to RAV4 or CRV. I think Hyundai and Kia have the best 4 cylinder engines in the market.

Nolan - are u sure the 2nd row seat does not slide forward and back? I test drove a 2019 Santa Fe and they did. There are a bunch of alternatives in the smaller midsize category (188"-192" in length). In addition to the Santa Fe, there's the Edge, the Honda Passport, the Chevy Blazer, the Nissan Murano, the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Subaru Outback, and the KIA Sorento, as well as others. Most, with the exception of the Santa Fe and the Outback offer V6 engines, some naturally aspirated and some turbocharged. My family's choice was the top trim Sorento SX-L. It's unique in the category with a surprisingly accommodating 3rd row seat as well as an excellent V6 that offers more linear, smooth, and quiet operation than the Santa Fe's turbo4. We also looked seriously at the Edge (as well as others) but my wife (whose daily driver is the family SUV) said she felt like she was sitting at the stern of a long outboard boat in the Edge. That nixed it. The Santa Fe is a very good choice but we occasionally need to transport six or seven passengers to a local destination and the additional seating enables us to take only one vehicle on those occasions. As noted, my wife is the main driver of the Sorento and she regularly gets about 22 mpg in urban/suburban driving and about 26 mpg on long freeway slogs. I have a heavier foot but manage to match her fuel economy when we take a trip.
