I have a confession to make: for the longest time I just accepted that "Ebbers" was a weird British nickname for "Ben" until I heard his full name in a previous video. I just wanted to share that with everyone today. It feels good to finally get it off my chest.

I think Ben's crab toast looked great. I also think that this video should have been broken in two. The Portland trip feels like it could have easly been three videos. The first video was great, and I think the second one should have followed suit. then make the ultimate battle a stand alone. I just think we could have seen more of the adventure in this video like the first. That being said I love sorted and I want to eat crab now. Thanks for great content and videos and much love from Houston Texas.

Ohhh poor Mike I can’t believe he dropped it!

I see so many people complaining that James didn't cook anything because he used sausage for his meat. Did you see the list of available ingredients from the challenges they were playing for? There was very little in the way of solid ingredients to select from for this competition. With one win, Ben got a wide selection of produce, yet despite winning more challenges, James only got blackberries, hazelnuts, some dairy, and one meat (unsure where he got the potatoes; maybe a few pantry items they both got to draw from?). To be more balanced and fair to James, he should have gotten more than a single meat to work with when he won that deli selection, but as it was, he had to compose a dish with pretty scarce resources. He made a cheese sauce, vinaigrette, poached & grilled potatoes, grilled sausage, and fried pate balls. Plus, though Jamie was judging, Ben still had meat to work with - crab! When cooked properly crab is such a delicacy ingredient, and I fail to see how that wouldn't satisfy a meat-lover. Despite having what I'd call a more varied amount of ingredients on his list (when he didn't even win as many contests as James did), Ben lost. I guess somehow him making toast and throwing some olive oil and seasoning on sliced produce and grilling it counts more as cooking than what James prepared though.

As someone who was raised in the PNW (both WA and OR), I am still in awe of how tremendously gorgeous the scenery can be. Also, when I got married, my grandparents asked me what I really wanted as a present. I could pick anything. I chose mountain blackberry ice cream fresh from Tillamook. So good. I literally cried when they discontinued the flavor.
