Ultimate Three Watch Collection Under $1500 

My collection is a 3 piece one - sarb033, snkn33, and gw-m5610. Sometimes I think I would fancy something new but all 3 just fit perfectly in my life and the 2 automatics are such gems (both running at -1 a day), there's not much point bothering with something else.

I think a 5 watch collection is perfect as you need a G-Shock beater and a nice Chrono to add to the 3 watches you have. I have 2 divers, 1 G-Shock, 1 Field watch and a Chrono. My collection was 12 watches at its peak and now down to 5 and I have managed to be content with that number for a long time. Also 2 out of the 5 are quartz which are the grab and go watches.

Hi Mike, thank you I like your choice. I am aiming for a 4 watch collection. I currently have a Seiko Samurai for diving and its a great dive watch. A Seiko SNZG as my field watch and a G-Shock Gulfmaster (I work in the maritime industry). I have been reviewing Hamilton and STEINHART Ocean I also am pretty keen on a Christopher Ward Pro 600 Bronze. I guess we will see. All the best and great video

A three piece collection is awesome. My three favorites in my collection are the Seiko Blumo, Seiko Padi Turtle 🐢 and my Orient Mforce Bravo 😀👍🏻

Awesome collection. I've downsized my collection to 3 pieces myself lately. I have the sary057 instead of the sarb033. I initially wanted the sarb, simply a nicer watch, but I realised that it's more important that the watch fits my style if it is to get any time in the rotation. Therefore I got something a bit more sporty/less dressy, and slightly bigger. For a diver I have the Citizen Promaster Titanium BN0200. It runs +3s/year, has a battery life equal to the lifetime of the watch (20 years or so), and is always running when I pick it up :) I also think every collection should have a somewhat expendable beater. A military green Casio f91w in my case.

Love that Nato strap that you have the Hamilton on. Are you able to share where you picked that up, model?

Under $1500 1. Hamilton Khaki auto 38mm black dial. 2. Seiko Alpinist green dial. 3.Oris rectangular automatic silver dial.

My suggestion for a 3 piece collection under 1500: field watch: Hamilton Khaki Field 42 mm, dress watch: Seiko SRPB69J1, For a diver either Seiko Samurai, Seiko Turtle, Tissor Seastar or Glycine Combat Sub.

I have the Ocean 39 Explorer and the Sarb on a strapcode, and my oldest just got that Hamilton in a Champagne dial, and I've been looking at the black dial version. Can't agree with you more on your selections.

I have the Steinhart Explorer dial 39mm. It is my weekend watch. Wears great on a nato also.

I think any affordable 3 watch collection needs a Seiko Diver. For me? SRP777. I own a 6306 from 1978, and you also know first hand the dependability of the turtle. I figure a new one that hacks and hand winds would be a no brainer, and it’s not a derivative of any sort, just a modern version of a tried and true classic. Don’t get me wrong, the Steinhart OVM Military is on my short list, but if it’s only 3, turtle is king.

I don't know what i would put if i had to stick to 3 watches only... i love divers too much! I have a 6309 from 1977 that I really love (i have pimped it recently with an uncle seiko bracelet, bronze bezel insert and dd sapphire). I would add my supercompressor from the 60s that is really versatile... and my steinhart 500 gmt titanium... geez that's 3 divers...

I wanted to love my Hamilton. It was so well built and kept such good time. But the glare was so bad on the glass ! That watch would be perfect if they used any sort of AR coating. The dial has such depth, but you can’t see it 90 percent of the time with the reflections. Great selections !

I tried the new strapcode oyster bracelet for my sarb035 and I thought it was too heavy and the clasp was a bit bulkly for the sarb035. It didn't quite feel right on the sleek sarb

What do you mean you can get away with it? How is Sarb033 not a perfect dress watch. Its minimal, conservative, small (38mm) and thin. Just pop that boy in a fine leather strap and its a perfect dress watch.

Save up and get a real watch lads.these are wack.
