Just a fun comparison of all the Iridescent / Ultra-rare add-ons for each Dead by Daylight Killer. Final tier list at 59:30 Watch live: / otzdarva Join our community: / discord Background music: • Forest Sounds | Woodla... • Video
Updates: Iri Fang is now strong but not OP. Pinky Finger is not as strong as before (-2 bottles). New Spirit Iri add-on that replaces Father's Glasses is about Mediocre. Book page 3-blink add-on is OP. Pig's iris are now strong/good. Not much else!
The fact that this man streams for 7 8 hours a day and talks non stop, then does an hour long video breaking down every killer ultra rare addon and discussing how good it is is mad. Respect ✊
@@dlingfasin6826 His job is whatever HE says is his job. He is the one streaming after all. We're just praising him because of the really hard work he does everyday.
@@Montoak and thats cool, but thats literally his job, if he didnt provide this content then he would have to get a real world job and work the same hours, maybe more.
If anything, “Ghostface Caught on Tape” should be reversed. Not only would it be a better add-on, but it would also make more contextual sense. Since it buffs stalking in the open, you would be encouraged to stalk more in the open where someone could catch you on tape.
Well the survivors do have one mediocre addon and that is the odd bulb which makes the killer blind for only half a second longer while also decreasing the overall amount of time your flashlight can be used for, so it's really kinda useless unless it's stacked on the best flashlight with other addons that stack on more blind time. And to be fair about killers ultra rares some of the killers with absolutely shit ultra rares have some lower tier addons that should probably be ultra rare instead. I think behavior will consider making something ultra rare if it gives a unique effect or is something with really high numbers for whatever it changes, and a lot of the the ultra rares seem to follow the unique part whether or not the said effect is actually practical or not
Adding to what has already been said, I think the design decisions behind the Pink addons are to provide more unique interactions between killers and survivors by giving the killer a new way to use their power, as opposed to just making the killer better at what they are already doing.
Imagine my shock. When I take a break from browsing Hololive clips and click on my alerts to watch Otz's newest video. I scroll down to the comments and see your avatar. For half a minute I had an out of body experience, thinking that I clicked on the wrong video or something. Glad to know that my fellow Watamates also have good taste in gaming, as well as Idols.
BHVR logic: green add on allows you to see auras within 8 meters (Compound 21) And then there’s: an iridescent add on that Makes survivors scream when you miss an attack (iridescent family crest)
Otzarva be like: "This addon will instantly send you two million dollars IRL when you use it, but the Killer's other addons are also good so I can't call it top tier." "This addon will delete all your Dead by Daylight save data and then delete your computer's System 32 file, but I can't really call it awful because at least it does something."
I don't blame BHVR for releasing Ultra-Rares that suck. Sometimes an idea that worked in your head just doesn't translate into your work. What they should be ashamed of is that these add-ons remain worthless for months, sometimes years, and they only bother changing them when they do a full rework of the killer.
Yeah agreed, it's fine if something didn't work out, but the fact they take months/YEARS to fix/change something that CLEARLY NEEDS THE HELP, is so so so so infuriating
Well, you also have to notice he is not doing it for free... He is getting the youtube views money :p And more people to follow him on twitch and buy more things and etc, its a marketing "weapon", he is thinking ahead.
The best part about the Hag's Waterlogged Shoe is that when you combine it with the Hag's other worst add-on, the Scarred Hand, it makes up for one of the funniest builds out there. :p
If pyramid heads goblet turned killer instinct into aura reading for 3 seconds (that would renew everytime it was tread upon) that would make it somewhat viable to people looping you on the same tile. Just draw around the tile and wait for them to step, theres no way for them to know you have it
Can we appreciate the music? Almost near the end, Besaid Island from Final Fantasy X started playing; that is one of the few games to ever make me cry and I mostly owe that to the soundtrack.
21:19 "This doesn't really do much other than scare the survivors" You mean, it kills your ears so horribly that you want to take your headset off. Seriously, I can't do anything while an iridescent button legion is in frenzy.
I feel like certain addons, some examples being amanda's letter and or oni's glove is supposed to change the gameplay style of the killer. If you run amanda's letter, you could use the traps when there's only 1 gen left so it could trap a survivor for a bit until they get the trap off unless they find hatch, The main slowdown value would have to come out of the perks you use such as hex: ruin, thanataphobia or anything of that sort. With oni's glove, you could become an M1 killer with some m1 perks and some heal slow down perks as well. While an M1 killer isn't the best for oni, you can make a fun playstyle out of it with the help of some perks of course.
Love the Final Fantasy background music you used here Otz! Def agree with practically all of these add-on placements! I would personally put Oni's Bloody Glove at "GOOD" simply because of the use in all-seeing Oni build can still be very nasty (esp paired with Coulrophobia).
Otz is one of the best Killers in the Game but in my opinion the Silent Bell Add on from Wraith is also op instead of strong. When nobody runs Spine Chill, you will get free Hits nearly everytime. When you combine it with All Seeing Add on, a good Wraith can destroy them all ^^ With the rest of the Add ons I agree.
I don't know if I'd say it's op it's definitely strong but spine chill is a pretty common perk for survivors to run also I just think there's better add-on choices for him
The iridescent stone kinda goes excellently with the trapper sack because broadly that means you can set a trap in a spot you want it all game and never have to maintain it again, PLUS there's no closed traps lying randomly around the map to get affected by it, its ALWAYS ones you want to flip open because they're ones you placed down. By the end of the game if you have both exit gates trapped and most of the traps are open its basically insta win because of that resetting on them and ruining their gate opening its awesome. Super map dependent though I can imagine that being impossible to use on like the game or something
The pigs "rule set no. 2" ad-on should actually make it, so survivors can see the boxes while the traps aren't active and not be able to see them when they are activated. This way (with the right gen reading perks) you could plan when to put a trap on a survivor so that the chances of them actually dying to it become higher. For Example put a trap on a survivor just before a gen pops so that they have to find the boxes or else die. The "Amandas letter" ad-on should maybe leave the bear traps as they are and instead make the pigs rush silent. Like without a roar. Basically leave the cons of the ad-on and add that the rush is silent. Similar to "Scratched Mirror Myers" My opinion
@@RoyalDragon12 It's just an idea and also i like the iri ad-ons to be really difficult to play against. Otherwise dbd gets boring really quickly when there is no strong threat to go up against
@@gokirider1313 there can be difficult addons but not unfair thou. You can't literally remember all the boxes's location and if you're ever chased off by the Pig, you will most likely forget all of its location and you're 100% dead.
Oh my god I was so caught off guard when that FFXII ost played around 20mins, I love this game so deeply and the feeling was so nostalgic I felt blessed lol
How good would Oni’s iridescent add-on be if it was were every time you COLLIDE with an orb instead of absorbing, the survivor aura would be revealed to you.
im assuming this means that survivors dont actually absorb the orbs, they just get their auras revealed? that would definitely be better than what we have currently, but i think there needs to still be some kind of downside to keep it from being too op, perhaps only revealing auras when youre out of your power, or making your power take more blood to fully charge?
@@CreaturaVioleta Yeah! Make it where they don’t actually absorb it just whenever they collide with one. As for downsides perhaps increase the gauge of his power, basically what you suggested about needing more blood to ready your power.
I feel like this is dumb to bring up but I think the glove for oni is actually stronger than awful. If used correctly with the right build you can always have constant map pressure due to the reveal timer stacking to show you where they are at for even longer.
Wow buddy, such a good coincidence. I was searching for all killers rare addons. First insearched all killers red addons( i got a video of a guy ranking them, old video, some guys commented there that he has lot of mistakes as he sees them from survivor pov). Now again i searched all killers ultra rare addons and ur video was 2. As a otz fan i directly clicked on it, when i saw the view i was like why otz video has so much less voew than i saw its 12 mins ago, lol dude what a timing. Thnx for the upload its good to know every killer’s ultra rare.
I have never played a single game of Dead by Daylight, and yet I still find these videos to be immensely entertaining and informative. Just from watching your videos I’ve got a decent understanding of how a lot of these killers and their add-ons work. That’s an achievement.
On Spirit I love using Mother-Daughter Ring and Prayer Beads together with at least Ruin and Surveillance for perks. It's a super strong combination of addons and perks, the information you get from the beads & perk can be invaluable in tracking generators being worked on & survivor locations while the ring gives you strong ability to control the map by being able to move quickly across it. Another fun combo is Running Shoes with the Ring for super fast phase movement, really easy to catch outside your terror radius survivors off guard as by the time they hear the phasing you're basically on top of them.
Amanda's Letter is insanely powerful. It's the opposite of Ruleset No 2: It doesn't look that great on paper, but when you run it consistently you see how strong it can be. You pair it with the +1 RBT add-on so you have two RBTs. The two survivors you put those traps on are essentially deleted from the game. It becomes EXTREMELY difficult for them to survive at that point, and they'll waste the rest of their time trying to do so. It's extremely difficult for them to mindgame you because they only have 2 possible options for getting it off. Normally they can try to trick you into thinking they're going to one when actually going to another; but with this, if they aren't trying to get to one then they are definitely trying to get to the other. Oh, and even if they do manage to elude you, you can just patrol the only two boxes there are and you're going to find them before they can even complete a box 80% of the time without perks. Add Spies to that (since they are forced to keep moving around) and you're looking at 95%. Add Whispers as a second perk and you're looking at 99% success. That's not even mentioning when you hear them fail a box or know they failed one based on the direction they came from. Now it's guaranteed that they need to use the other box to survive the trial. Yikes. That's a complete death sentence. "Here's the aura of a spot that a survivor needs to go to and safely stand at for 10 seconds without interruption, otherwise they die. Also they have a giant beeping flashing contraption on their head." I mean hell, you could stick the 2 RBTs on some random survivors heads, and then sit in front of one of the boxes and just go AFK. There's a 75% chance you get a kill while you're gone, and a 25% chance you get 2 kills. You don't need to use them for kills either. The fact that half of the survivors are constantly moving to predictable locations means that half of the survivors are constantly getting downed and hooked, which means the other half of the survivors are busy unhooking them (or ignoring them and you get an easy 1v2). And that's still not mentioning the fact she can permanently see all nearby survivor auras while crouching, which just completely guts any resistance or mindgame potential a survivor might have otherwise had. Basically, it's an incredibly good add-on. If you focus on getting value from it, that value will be excellent.
Update: The above comment is no longer accurate, as Amanda's Letter has received a significant nerf. The add-on no longer changes the number of boxes, making nearly all of what I described irrelevant. It's somewhat sad, but at the same time the nerf was deserved. I'm glad its incredibly oppressive nature went under the radar long enough for me to play with it as much as I did. I didn't really expect it to last forever.
I just realized the addons are in alphabetical order by what the community names these killers rather than their actual names. Billy (Hillbilly), Blight, Bubba (Cannibal), Clown, Demogorgon, Doctor, Nightmare (Freddy), Ghost face, Hag, Huntress, Myers (Shape), Nemesis, Nurse, Oni, Pig, Cenobite (Pinhead), Plague, Executioner (Pyramid Head), Deathslinger (Slinger), Spirit, Trapper, Trickster, Twins, and finally Wraith.
I noticed the same thing, but the Cannibal didn't need the nickname! :P My guess is he got pictures of all the add ons and named them Blight_1, Blight_2, and so on, and the site alphabetically sorted them.
I remember that the pig add ons once got buffed, rule set n2 use to make it so that the boxes were blocked instead of their aura being hidden and Amanda’s letter let you keep all your boxes and let you see survivor’s aura but instead you couldn’t see scratch marks, don’t know why they changed it but I guess BHVR had to nerf pig
Some things I found when playing with 31:30 Oni's Iri Family Crest (nearby survivors scream when you slams the ground with your power) are: -Survivors will only scream if you hit the GROUND and nothing else. Not if you hit a wall, not if you hit a survivor, nor a pallet / wall. Only if you hit the ground. -Survivors that DO scream this way will NOT show a visual bubble showing their location, because you're already too close for the game to show you any bubble, else it'd obscure your view. So if you want to slam down in the middle of shack, a survivor nearby might scream, but you won't easily be able to tell where they're located. -Some fun stuff: This addon makes survivors who are on the ground and on the hook scream repeatedly, which is fantastic fun for memeing around. One time I downed 3 survivors in the same area and just made all 3 scream over and over until I ran out of my power. "Ah!... Ah!.... Ah!.... Aah!.... wAh!... Ah!" -Since the game needs to check to see if you actually missed or if you ended up hitting something, it takes about ~0.5 seconds ish after your slam before the survivors scream, which is a small but noticeable disparity. If nothing else it's an interesting insight into the game engine when the devs aren't as worried about great attention to detail.
IMO Mint Rag should be in OP, needing skill to be used shouldn’t affect a tier list (otherwise Nurse would never be number 1 on tier list since she’s the lowest % on kills because of the low skill of some). And new Iri Head should be “Good”, old Iri was controversial and loved by some because of the snowball, down 3 people in a low amount of time. Now that it is only 1 hatchet you lose the snowball and the survivor team can do a lot between the time lose of having to constantly reload. Hell that addon May be considered a detriment compared to her other addons because of said snowball potential and it forces you to use the other addon that makes you 115, otherwise a 110 with a single iri head is actually less scary than standard Huntress.
Holy fuck i made this tier list lol. The cenobytes add-ons are larger than the others because I had to clip them from the game itself lol. Originally made it to just mess around with some friends, but to see you use it is just wacky, its an honor.
Fuming mixtape is op cause of the whispering that it adds to the chase theme, paired with joeys tape you will cause the survivors to be distracted by your banger track and cause them to do dumb things.
Little known fact. Picking up a survivor while in feral frenzy with the iridescent button will briefly keep the map wide terror radius. This works with starstruck. Hard to make use of, but it definitely exists.
Basically Engineer’s Fang makes Pinhead somewhat like the Plague. Just compare: plague can injure with vile, but not down, but when she does this mid-chase, survivors do NOT get a speed boost and that helps end chases in an instant. And that’s just what pinhead would do with this add-on.
Hey Otz, I would strongly disagree with the huntress iri-head. Like you said it supports a campy playstyle and thats my only guess on how it now only can be played. Every round I played the Iri head I felt I couldn't really do both, playing like a camper and normally, because the survivors had very good teamplay (Red ranks and solo q, I asked afterwards). That's why I would put it in awful, because it gives you a MASSIV disandvantage by not having 5 hatches. Especially against a SWF, a situation where 5 hatches are just way more useful and practical as missing a hatched isin't a instant loss or hitting someone with Bt, while with no ad ons you can just hit that Bt person twice with a normal hatched. All just my opinion, would agree with the rest :D. Keep up the great work
Iri head is definitely weird. Bad players will gain practically nothing from it if they can't hit hatchets consistently. Really good players gain very little because they would probably hit a follow-up hatchet anyways. If you have a lot of access to lockers and possibly Iron Maiden, you can get an insta-down hatchet every few seconds, albeit not during chase.
A very helpful and (unsurprisingly) analytic explanation of each Iri Add-on, Otz. Must admit, however, that a lot of the video's BGM choices were too nostalgic to ignore.
I don't know if he cut his Videos or he had a Cutter. BUT I love this guy for playing the Background Music. I hear how Oz Talk and think about did I hear FFX Music, or did I play this game to much?!? And try hear more about the Music. And it is FFX and I love you for that
Something about the Iridescent Button that went unmentioned is that it works very well with terror radius perks, ESPECIALLY coulorophobia in an anti heal legion build
Who in a sane mind will heal against Legion and why? He is just M1 killer who can be looped normally, healing does literally nothing, cause he can injure you back in 3 secs of chase.
@@DmitryPetkov Well if you don’t heal you never ever go for a safe save, the killer could so easily tunnel everybody, you can catch even really good survivors in dead of just bad zones witch could happen since even the best survivors makes mistakes like that. Plus survivors have no room to make mistakes since if you do a mistake witch like I said before everyone do the survivors instantly will be downed.
I think the only two that I don't 100% agree with, would be Tuft of Hair, and Demo's aura reading during/after a teleport. My reasoning for Tuft of Hair is basically it gives up a lot of early game pressure, you'll need to stalk quite a bit to make it work. Using it on average I'd say around 3 gens will pop before you manage to pull it off, unless the survivors are just feeding you Evil Within. Now you have 2 gens left, and 4 survivors still running around. They also hear your terror radius and will be extremely cautious. Even with the insta down ability, it can be a bit tricky. You'll be hoping for a snow ball effect. Sure Myers can camp a hook really well in tier 3. But that's not really much different than a base Leatherface camping a hook. I'd honestly lower it to either the bottom of Strong, or top of Good. Honestly I prefer the stealthy approach for Myers. Getting the first hit, in is rather easy, stalking when applicable, and surprising someone out of no where with tier 3. Depending on the map, and level of survivors, Tuft can feel like a nerf, or it can feel like a buff. Now Demo's Aura reading Add-on...maybe I'm biased towards it. But I've literally never lost a game while using it. Survivors going for an unhook are immediately found. Hiding survivors are found are easily well found. You really can't hide from him at all, and Demo is quite good in chase. It also allows him to do a hit and run style, that you wouldn't normally do. Stopping to teleport mid chase isn't as big of a detriment as you might think. You'll immediately get information on other survivors. And already know where that person that you were chasing went to. It's kind of tough just saying you can see their auras and that's it. But it's surprisingly effective through out every level of the match. From start, to finish. It's almost like having Leathal Pursuer up pretty much whenever you feel like it with a movement ability on top. You'll always know where to go.
Otz, you're crazy with Renjiro's bloody glove. I'm All Ears value, with no perk slot taken, and also with no cool down, and also any time a survivor is doing anything. You get so much information that the blood orbs lost, especially if you're using the shipwreck piece, isn't a big deal because not only is your chase is _substantially_ aided, but you also get a discount Nurses Calling if they're being healed by someone, AND discount Discordance if someone joins another person on a generator. You are really underselling it.
Something I like to do as Mint Rag Hag is take the time to put two traps on opposite sides of the map in a place survivors typically won’t go, so I always have access to just teleport across the map if I need to
I love that "Leprose Lichen" from demigorgon, that basicly reveals all auras over the whole map without any cooldown is just "good" and not considered "strong" or "op". I mean its better as BBQ or any other aura perk
Plague main here, the black insece or however you spell it is very good and run it with the brown add on that gives you aura reading for 4 seconds when someone’s cleansed themselves for ultimate aura reading.
14:26 This is not correct. It does not matter who opens the exit gate, the newly opened gate will be blocked for every single asleep survivor for 15 seconds. One of the best uses for it is when survivors 99% a gate. You simply chase them to the gate, where they will open it and trap all sleeping survivors. If you're quick, you can get a down and hook before the 15 seconds is up, triggering Blood Warden to secure the rest of the kills on sleeping survivors. It's still an incredibly niche ultra-rare add-on but it is quite a bit better based on that information alone than what was explained in the video.
Caught on tape is great for a chase build on ghost face, especially if you use it with night vision monocular. In the middle of a chase, you can just cloak and insta stalk people. No one ever expects it and it's a lot of fun
You should really really reconsider your ranking of Renjiro’s bloody glove. If you are running sloppy butcher survivors are spending a lot of time injured. Most of that time spent injured is on generators. If they heal, this is good for the Oni, they are not doing gens, and they’re leaving big pools of blood. However, the whole time they are healing, they are still bleeding and revealing their locations. If you can keep survivors injured, you become an information powerhouse that knows where survivors are healing, what gens they are on, where they’re sleeping and when they’re awake. Not to mention the add-ons that increase the frequency of bleeding both making Renjiros glove more potent as well as giving you more blood to actually use your power, which off-sets the negative of survivors absorbing their own blood if they’re bleeding in chase.
i didn't realise the black box on freddy only worked if the survivor is in the dream world, i was so confused when someone got out when i was using it. i thought it didn't work for me because the survivor dead harded lol, glad i finally figured out why it didn't work!
I think you are very mistaken about Freddy's black box add-on. First, the gate does not have to be opened by an asleep survivor, rather, all exit gates are blocked for survivors for the first fifteen seconds of them being open. Second, this sees use very often. Survivors like to 99 exit gates and then leave when you come near, especially against freddy with his bloodwardens. This allows you to down them and secure another kill, usually more if you bring bloodwarden (the gates will be open but not leavable yet). I ran this for about ten games at rank 1 and it saw use for more than half of them. I will agree it won't ALWAYS be clutch, but the clutch it brings is very powerful if you know how it works. If you still don't belive me, just ask yourself how many times you have the whole team taking protection hits for that one unhooked survivor as they run to the 99 gate and open it...? Ooops, its blocked for all of you now :)))
