Although I still haven't been given any real updates for what stage of cancer I have or what the treatment plan will definitely be, I have seen my case worker and completed the scans. The DDT happened today and I have my appointment on Monday where I will find out the details.

Keep going, I had cervical cancer in 1997 at the age of 35 when I was 43 it came back and i had a radical hysterectomy and vagintectomy. After a few years of further Zappa to clear doggy cells. I was given the all clear. I had my 62nd birthday this week. So there are silver linings. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hi Karen, my situation was so similar to yours. I had cervical cancer in 1998/99 at the age of 34. I was so lucky to fall for my daughter 3 months after treatment then had a hysterectomy a few years after that. It's so great that Mandy is urging people to get tested it's so important. So happy to hear you have fully recovered. ❣️

Keep a positive mind Mandy, enjoy the time you have before your treatment begins. I was told yesterday that I had a rare cancer and start my chemotherapy next week. Every hour for me counts, and I'm going to enjoy every second of every minute of every hour I have. My life is in the hands of the oncologist. But my LIFE, is for me to live as long as I am able. Loads of positive thoughts coming your way. I had a radical hysterectomy 14 years ago. I was in hospital for three days and had to come out to continue looking after my husband who had dementia. I got through it and with your determination and support from your husband and daughter I’m sure whatever you are facing you will too. You truly are surrounded with positive thoughts and good wishes. Mandy, you are an absolute star, a fabulous fighter and one strong woman. You have got this! I am waiting for my 2nd colposcopy having had a scare last year. I'm having it done under anaesthetic as it was the most painful experience I have ever had (I was warned, apparently its worse if you've never had children). You are so right, waiting is the hard part. I had precancerous cells and had a coil fitted as the treatment, just hoping it's worked and they haven't progressed. We are all here, right behind you, you will never ever be alone. Best wishes to you, John and your daughter xx

My daughter was diagnosed with the same when she was 30yrs old (and with a 1yr old child), she stayed strong, she battled through a hysterectomy and thank god all was ok and she is now 50yrs old. You need to keep strong Mandy and keep positive. Love to you and John, we are all routing for you. X

Keep fighting Mandy. I mentioned that my Mum hesitated for smears though I begged her constantly and when she got agressive untreatable cancer and I became her full time carer I was constantly very angry at how she didnt fight or seek treatment. She didn't want to know and when she died, it destroyed me mentally. I'm still not right now and I cant visit her grave and all because embarrasment stopped her having checks. I say it all the time about life being a precious gift. As long as you're alive you should fight for every bloody second of it. Its going to be scary for you, but you're doing it! you're going to go for treatment, and though you dont know what you're facing, you are here doing vlogs which will help other subscribers. I'm so proud of you. I wish my mum had been like you❤❤❤ and I hadn't have had to watch her leave me. I dont pray, I'm not a religious person but Ive asked the universe for a full recovery for you. I know you will win and when you "ring the bell" do one thing and change the name of the channel because then "unadventurous Mandy" will do you such a dis-service. I live 5 mins from SGH. My mum had a life saving cancer op there last year, after been told she was at end of life care. Also had her chemo there. Now 1 year cancer free. Whatever happens , you got this!! Lots of love to you both xxx

I've had breast cancer 7 years ago, still not in remission as there was a metastasis in my back. I recognize so much of the things you talk about. Some things give me goosebumps, others make me smile. Do enjoy your network of support, it feels so warm to be surrounded by all these people who care about you. I had 1B3 cervical cancer and had a radical hysterectomy, oophorectomy and full pelvic lymph node dissection. I can honestly say if that’s the route you go down then don’t be afraid! Sending out healing wishes to the universe for you ❤❤

I was really lucky and didn’t need the chemo. The decision for chemo was depending on any cancer cells discovered in the lymph nodes they removed but thankfully they didn’t find any. I was checked every 3 months afterwards for 2 years then every 6 months for another 2. It’s a bit scary when the checks finish to be honest!

Hello Mandy, we have been following your husband 'Gadget John' because we are getting a campervan at the end of March. So we got to know of you through his videos. I was so upset when I watched his video 'Numb' as it brought all my cancer and what me and my family went through back to me. Ten years ago I was diagnosed with bowel cancer at the age of 55 and I understand completely what you are going through, I just wanted to share that although 'cancer' is an ugly word people do survive it. I am now 10 years past the surgery and have finally been given the 'all clear' by my surgeon, who I saw a couple of weeks ago, because the type of cancer I had was slow growing. Sending you a big hug and I know it's difficult but try and stay positive the mind is very powerful. Thinking of you and your family.

You're amazing for advocating Mandy, one of my school friends never had a smear because she didn't like the idea, even when bleeding between periods. Until the pain started. She left it too late unfortunately. The fact you can advocate for women to have smears whilst you're going through this, is amazing. You're a real wonder women🦸🏻‍♀️ Wishing you the best luck for Monday, the waiting and not knowing is the worst. I hope John is doing ok, having watched my husband go through cancer, it's terrifying being so helpless. Make sure he uses the Macmillan support too, the nurses are brilliant. Also agreed, the leaflets they give you are brutally honest; but much better then googling things. Getting yourself as healthy as possible before treatment is a good shout, but don't beat yourself up for comfort eating too. Cancer is a shit lottery no one wants to win!

Dear Mandy, Thank you for making this video when you’re so exhausted and stressed. You, John, your daughter are in so many of our thoughts and prayers and update was a generous act from you. To feel so enveloped in good thoughts/prayers etc is a powerful feeling and something we experienced when we were told our son, living in S Asia had had a catastrophic brain injury and would die. Best case scenario the consultant said was he might just survive but would be in a ‘vegatitive state’. Making the long haul flight over there, not knowing if we’d arrive ‘in time’ was the worst time of our lives (and sadly we have had several horrific experiences in our many yrs together) Feeling paralysed, unable to comfort or protect each other from the pain we were all in was excruciating. However, knowing and feeling the strength and power of prayer, positive thoughts and energies, virtual hugs and so on from so many people was what helped us through, and we believe, meant our son made what can only be described as a miraculous recovery. He is still here, he is physically well, living a good life. Something we never could’ve even hoped for. The power of people focussing on healing can’t be underestimated and any cynicism we might’ve had before about things like that is totally gone. It’s real, it’s powerful energy, it’s positive energy that you have there to draw on. Be kind to yourself, eating crap for a few weeks is better than not eating at all! You can begin to alter that when you’re ready. Waiting is so hard I really hope things go as well as possible on Monday. Take good care of yourselves. Xx

I'm 50 and 5 years after an early menopause I'm having period-like cramps. I've been sitting on it for 6 months but you've encouraged me to get checked out. When my mother in law had terminal cancer 14 years ago i never thought i would come across another woman as strong as she was. She walked into every treatment with her head held high, chin up and smiling even though she wasn't feeling that way. You are going to do the same!! Stay positive, stay strong and always remember the wise words of winnie the pooh! "When you see someone put in their big boy boots you know and adventure is going to start!" Just watched your video. I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer back in 2022. Chemotherapy was the 1st port of call, then surgery then radiotherapy. Keep positive as this will help. It seems a challenge at the time, but friends and family will be there for you. Listen to the nurses and doctors if they say slow down and take it easy do it, take time out for you. John and family are important but so are you. They can support you, but you have to face the cancer head on. Take charge of it, dont let it take over. Keep telling it, I'm going to win. Hi Mandy, Castle Hill Hospital is just 15 mins down the road from us and I and a number of the family have had various treatments there. (None for cancer tho). Always felt well cared for, professional staff and well maintained premises. If it does mean treatment there, you’ll be in good hands. Just made a donation to a friend running a marathon for a cancer charity thinking of you. Endure this health winter.
