Not sure if you guys noticed but at 51:25 Dormammu flips out after Combos hits him with Bionic Arm DHC into Rings. This shouldn't normally happen. Thoughts?
I'm actually surprised that Combo has gotten up to F. Champs level. I mean, he was always very close, but at the last EVO I felt that F. Champ was a step above everyone else. Not just because of his skill, but also because of the theory behind his teams and the strategy.
That's if it hits. There are a lot of characters that can block before they get hit with the laser if they're far enough away, and a lot of characters that can use a Hyper to avoid or even punish even if the Seven Rings activate. It just isn't that good in a lot of circumstances and using it to full effect takes a lot of foresight, a lot of lab time to find places to use it, and a lot of luck to get into a situation where you can get a guaranteed hit with it in the first place.
Ah yeah damn, thank you for correcting me. You're right. Idk why I was thinking Jrosa. But yeah Neo was saying that so much, it just got more funny than annoying.
Dormammu keep away isn't about defense though. It's about well timed offense to keep them from getting close. If you look at ChrisG's Morrigan keep away whenever his ult's down he's blocking. With Dormammu keep away if you play it perfectly, there's no opening where you would need to block. The reason that he's pretty much the only really solid Dormammu keep away is it's HARD. Keep away isn't inherently deffensive but offensive keepaway isn't something many can do.
This. Imagine if Metaknight had an extra stock that hit 300% on every attack, but took more himself. You'd want to have the better positioning, because if you're trying to land against that, you're going to get messed up.
I realize this is a month old, so forgive me if you've already had it answered. It's because Champ actually means his trash talk. Combo always has a hint of a laugh in his voice in all his insults, but Champ says A) far more impactful insults through use of emphasized profanity (listen to the way he says "b*tch when referring to She-Hulk to see what i mean) and B) rather than a hint of a laugh there's either hints of annoyance, or if a laugh of a far worse kind, the laugh of the bad winner.
lol is there a reason why champs pheonix is so difficult to kill as compared to his other ones? almost seems like theres a wong factor to that character.
It might be because he's stuck with her for so long or that because she's the quickest kill in the game his survival capabilities shoot through the roof to compensate whenever she's on screen.
actually champ's defense is much stronger than his offense. that's why he plays dormammu with more of a keepaway style while almost everyone else that plays dorm goes rushdown crazy with teleports and fish hooks. i do agree with what you said about champ having horrible sportsmanship though.
You need to realize that they're best friends, and that F. Champ has a LOT of respect for Combofiend. The aggressive shit talk is mostly an act for the viewers.
That explains it. There is no homologous character to Dark Phoenix in any version of smash. not even close. Since you don't have a frame of reference, just trust me when i say if you have a good chance to kill Phoenix before she turns Dark, you are gonna want to take it 9 times out of 10.
Are you serious? If you don't see the difference i don't think we have much to say to each other. I'm not really sure how to phrase it, but best job i could do is it's a question of sportsmanship. Champ has incredible offense but not too great defense. That's why he plays chars like dormammu and dark phoenix. They have enough offense you don't really need a good defense. And when his defense fails, almost every time he's annoyed at the game and not himself. Mistakes are never HIS fault.
Why did Capcom give EVERYTHING to Phoenix? She has following projectiles, she can fly, she can do a command over head, she teleports, she goes dark.......take out her flying and Phoenix is far more balanced IMO. She can fly her way out of mix ups to avoid dying.
honestly dark phoenix is just another character to me i have played this game but i dont play it seriously, i just go online from time to time at my friends house and i have killed a dark phoenix when it goes dark so to me its just another foot dive away now ive nvr played anyone of f champs caliber so thats a different story
Smack talk is fine. It can be lively, hilarious, and fun. It's the reason why we love (Yipes') biased commentary. The issue people have with FChamp is his ugly was of speaking and sometimes of acting. It's just off-putting. He has made me laugh plenty of times, but in this set, the laughter was too often offset by cringing and uneasiness.
Yo this stick needs a new player, cause he is ass! Damn Combo, your admitting that you are dropping the combos and not blaming the stick. A bionic tip of the hat to that.
So? Hate the man for his attitude or what he does, not this one quirk. I get you, I get it, he never blames the game, but I'd be damned if I'm going to go by this one problem as an accurate explanation as to why he's globally disliked. There's gotta be way more to it than that.
