Can I just say, almost as much fun watching the replay as it was to run the course! Forrest and I had a blast (don’t worry, Fo got his run off-camera) and can highly recommend this to any other viewers who can be in the Boulder area. I wasn’t kidding that it’s way harder in person than it appears on video, so I’m looking forward to the first guy who tries it in a Civic and probably won’t make it past the entrance! Just to be clear, we used everything (including lockers) and actually needed all the kit to get through some of those challenges. They are not trivial. Andre, Cole and Brendan couldn’t have been nicer or more fun to hang out with. I’ve been a TFL fan since an early video where Nathan gave a spot-on review of an M3 that I happened to have at the time and the content has only gotten better. Hope to run into you guys again in Moab sometime!

@@SLICKW1993 - it’s actually CO2. The company is Powertank. You have to refill the CO2, so you want to be sure you have a place for that before you go that route. I go to a beer and wine brewing supply place called Salt City Brewing near mean and it’s very easy. I carry two tanks just so I don’t get stuck when one tank empties. The 4 wheel inflation set up came from Morrflate. Very happy with the set-up.

@anthonymrskipt9252
@anthonymrskipt9252 Год назад
@@StlrNtn95 - manual disconnects are more reliable than the factory disconnect and provide for more flex. In truth, though, the guy who owned the Jeep before me did that mod, so I inherited it that way. It’s easy enough to do when I’m airing down and adjusting the shocks anyway and works great. Seems well worth the slight additional effort to me.

Me too man. I have a black 2 door like this one. I’ve got a 2 inch and 35s and it gets used in Washington state a decent amount. It’s all about personal preference though. The fact of the matter is people want the Jeep lifestyle but don’t wanna use the Jeep. I had an LJ Rubicon before that I traded in for the JL. That had a long arm and 35s. I miss it to say the least.

But it can be a disadvantage on really steep angles going up or down - I've seen 2 doors nearly flip when 4 doors didn't have a problem. But everything has a trade off. Everything. Could you take a Rivian R1S or R1T through the tumbleweed course? Maybe even the Hummer EV too, that would be really interesting content.

Lol that heavy ass Hummer? It'd just sink in the mud Not saying I don't want see it happen tho

@@shitloveaduck Hahaha, unfortunately I don't live in the US or own a Rivian but if I did I would for sure love to take it down that course. Have you seen the SEMA Rivian R1T and R1S builds? They look pretty good with the mud terrains and rock sliders, I believe they would make it through a muddy course like that for sure. The approach and departure angles are good on both but the breakover is better on the R1S since it has a shorter wheelbase. Either way I think it could still make it with minimal/no trail damage, it will just get very very muddy though.

I’m sure someone will do it. They’re pacing theirselves so the tumbleweed course stays interesting. Saw a whole group in Moab. They have 10” air suspension lifts they’ll be fine. Only problem is they need new tires and stock in mud is a no go

@@shitloveaduck - you are definitely correct that the bumper hit hard initially. If you look closely, there was a rock (maybe a couple of rocks) that we dug up. That transition is fairly abrupt and I can see why lots of vehicles with longer wheelbases get stopped. No trail damage this time. If you run the course, you are required to sign a full waiver and have to cover any damage to your own rig - as you would on any trail. Seemed well worth it for the experience to me.

@@shitloveaduck - a modern well-optioned Bronco that would actually have a pretty good shot at making it, all kidding aside. I think it is the guy’s daily driver, so he may be less willing to run the risk of trail damage. I really does look much tougher in person. I’m really looking forward to that video to see how he did!

Why did he manually disconnect his sway bar links when he could have done it electronically with a push of a button ( rubicon model ) ? Great video btw 🤙

You get more flex if you completely disconnect it. Also the system sometimes fails.

As said, the electronic disconnect does not allow enough flex for their set up. It’s fine for stock but once you get 3” plus lift you are far better off to manually disconnect for maximum flex.
