I just now got my first googan rod. I went with gold series casting rods. Ive got alot of medium and higher end rods. Im blown away at the quality of these gold series rods at the price that you get them for. I did have a defect in one of my rods where the googan squad logo is missing right behind the reel seat. Hoping to get that resolved. But they are so light and the sensitivity is there and so well balanced. Its easily up there with my rods that cost $200 to $300 bucks. Super impressed. Cost $141 after taxes and shipping cause I'm a shop karls member. Thats a crazy good price for the quality of rods these gold series are.

Justin, you should design a quality telescopic rod and a multi-piece fly rod. Most of my fishing is hiking through the woods to get to lakes and streams. Having rods I can put in a backpack would make a hike much easier.

LFG, Re your Family Camp video (comments locked). Camp Chef makes a Dutch Oven Dome kit that lets you bake on a burner. I’ve used it with great success in cold and windy conditions as well as open fire restrictions. Super even with practice and some no lid finishing.

Late comment, I’m recently getting back into fishing I have a penn pursuit IV 4000 I just bought the green spinning finesse rod I plan on buying a new spinning reel some point soon. Will the Penn IV 4000 be manageable on the green 7ft finesse?

Is there a Googan rod you would recommend for trolling river walleye. 20 to 40 deep,big current, big fish. Using Arodsmiths 7.6 medium fast. Big walleye here r over 15lbs, my best is 17 plus. Catch quite a few smaller stergon trolling walleye too. Looking at new gear. Reels r abu garcia revo4 sx.

Would love to get my hands on the new poles but if I spent more than 50$ on my fishing pole my wife would kill me and dance on my grave.. But even with my wal-mart special set up I have been able to get a 4lb bass this year. One day... Just one day I may get a good fishing pole and reel set up. Keep it up LFG!!

I have been fishing for over 20 years now and let me tell yah...most brands are intended to catch fisherman rather than help catch more fish...Dobyns, Shimano, Daiwa, Phenix and a few Megabass are all I stick with now after wasting a bunch if money on trash when I first started out...a newcomer in my circuit got his hands on a set of these and they feel and have the action of Abu Garcias vendetta line...but if your not fishing on a high level, you won't be able to tell the difference between these and a NRX or a Dobyns Extreme anyway.
