Bought one when Home Depot had it on sale and Tx had a sales tax holiday on storm products. I have been giving it a workout this past week here in Houston. Plenty of juice. Am able to power my 3 fridges, freezer, internet, tv, and a buttload of fans. I even let my neighbor piggy back his extension cord over the fence and keep his fridge and fans running. Not sure why the design was 37 ounces oil capacity. Having said that, I poured the included quart in and had a few ounces overflow. On first oil change, it only took 32 ounces as well. There must be some place that has a bit extra oil. Is this a sump type oil system? I also like the Low Idle feature. Gave me enough power for what I need and consumed less gasoline.
I had an oil leak out of the box. Customer service was very helpful in finding a repair center locally. Main problem is that I had to rent a trailer to take it there and pick it up later. The thing is way too heavy to lift into the back of my pickup. Also, 3 comes with a 3 year warranty.
I see these newer units coming with side panels with sound insulation. How do these “air cooled” engines survive the heat that must be generated within the housing when running for 8-10 hours during a power outage?
