Do you think the vive would run well with a gtx 1050 graphics card

Technically, anything above a GTX 970 on the Nvidia side should be fine. Granted, for the HTC Vive, the minimum specs do say NVIDIA GTX 1060, but if you have NVIDIA GeForce Experience installed, open it, and click settings, on the bottom right you will see Features, under Features you will see "Virtual Reality" if it says "READY" you should be fine, you can click Virtual Reality to see what exact specs are needed. Even though it says 1060 or better, you might be able to get away with it, please let us know if it works for you. For the Oculus Rift, minimum specs are GTX 970 with 8GB RAM, Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater, Windows 7 SP1 64 bit or newer. For the HTC Vive minimum specs are GTX 1060 with 4GB RAM, Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1 or later. To answer your question, The 1050 does not meet the minimum specs for the HTC Vive but you should still be able to use it. We don't know if your 1050 will run at all, hopefully it does, and please keep us updated if it works or not. It very well could be computer dependent, GeForce Experience will be the best way to tell if it works or not. Goodluck!
