As someone who's never been a Jordan fan, I agree with Gil's assessment. I've always said Jordan transcended ball in a way that no other player can match. kd got disqualified when he joined gsw. he won imo the easiest back2back chips in nba history. when he joined gsw, everybody knew nobody was beating them, they had too much firepower. you have kd, the guy who was constantly the dude that was neck to neck with lebron as the best in the world, curry the best shooter ever and first ever back2back unanimous mvp, and then you had Klay who was 2nd to curry as the best shooter in history, then you had Iggy, and shaun Livingston, 2 dudes that would've started on most teams coming off the bench. As great as KD is and as much I Love him as a player, he can not be in the G.O.A.T debate because he just has not accomplished anything outside of them championship wise. He had the opportunity to build his own roster with the nets and basically had total control. He did not win. In phoenix he has not had total control but had a great team that just needed to get over the hump and he has not done that yet.
