My own hair growth journey of success, I myself adhered to this daily regimen: Take early morning sunshine every day for essential vitamin D. Consume veggies of various colours. Using paraben-free and fragrance free shampoo and gently massaging two times per week with hair oil from litttleextra cooconion. Important to keep in mind that hair growth is affected by general health as well as circulation and nutrition.

Great question, good topic. I notice older women's hair is thinner and balding appear in the crown. I'm 59 with about 15% grey hair mostly in the front, rest is very dark black with a strand of grey thruout. My hair is very thick. All if this is due to years of good (not always but got routine now) natural hair, no perms of any kind, no color, infrequent salon visits and wkly or biweekly washes. Some in older generations feel such washes is too much, have had a perm for 10 years maybe more and color grey every other month and frequent salons for this "haircare". As I've aged I have noticed my scalp is more sensitive to some products (ingedients in them?) than before. Black women youtubers that address these topics are rare

My own hair growth success story (and my brothers) below: 1. Fragrance-free shampoo (natural or otherwise). The Korean cosmetics industry understands why we are still behind years ago. 2. Taoist hair growth soap only 2x per week: stops further hair loss and stimulates new growth (to some extent) can find it online but do this whole regimen not just this. 3. Drink nettle tea at least twice a day to remove hormone residues in the liver and further support the hormone balance, not completely, but sufficiently. 4. Scalp massage for 30 minutes a day. Don't skip anything, just massage slowly and firmly with your fingertips. Proceed gently at first as there may be some pain the next day. 5. Collagen powder 2x a day with one tablespoon each. Do not take pills as the dose is not high enough. 6. Rinse cold water directly on scalp. Do not let cold water run on your neck or head, otherwise you may get sick. But once a day or a few times a week works wonders. I learned this from my brother who has been searching for answers for years. Now, at 38, he has a full head of hair. But at 23 he had very thin hair all over his body. I also had thin hair. Stick to the regimen, I promise you will see results. Hair growth requires many protective measures and is therefore difficult to cure.

Any issues you may have..try a sugar detox. First week, the dying-off yeast in your body will release toxins..alcohols...to try and get you to cave and eat sugar..buy cake...eat potato chips, etc. Your mouth will coat with sweet, yeast, tasting saliva and you will even break out since the toxins are releasing through your skin. If you can survive the yeast trying their hardest to Not die off (they eat and multiply overgrowing inside your body by feasting on sugar) week two..you will see improvements. We are addicted to sugar that is stronger to leave than cocaine. If you go sugarless for months, I bet you'll see several health issues start to reverse. Even ones that your doctor told you are permanent. Sounds stupid but Real talk. Dandruff is basically an out of control yeast infection on your scalp..gross I know. That's why when you scratch your scalp and then smell your fingers afterwards, it smells like fresh bread.. sweet and full of yeast 🤢 People of color, need to jump on this sugar detox bandwagon-thyroid issues, fibroids, polyps, dandruff, etc. All of this is the result of eating too much sugar all day everyday in everything we consume. The toxins from this yeast overgrowth over the years, even causes cancers.

Oral saw palmetto and coconut oil will reduce serum dht. Topical rosemary oil + peppermint oil + coconut oil will reduce scalp dht, add sunflower oil to activate ppar receptor to increase scalp fat gain which promotes scalp estrogen production needed for hair growth. The root problem is not dht, dht is also needed to signal hair growth, the problem is what causes dht to increase which is inflammation in the gut and scalp.

I feel like a lot of presenters talk about oiling their scalp and why it doesn’t work for them, but I don’t feel like they include the benefits of oil to the scalp for other people that may need it or how you know to steer clear of scalp oils or when/how to incorporate them, if you should.

@pbjt2396

I had dandruff as a teen for a few years. I always thought it was because I had a full, thick head of curly hair and that my gel and hair products were the cause. I also lived in a tropical climate so I figured it was just natural that I'd have to suffer from dandruff. My brother and dad also had bits of dandruff so, eh, no biggie, right? Well, fast forward a few years and I developed full blown dry scalp. It was ugly, always on my shoulders and a horror show to anyone who came close enough. Embarrassing, but eventually I accepted it as part of me and didn't care anymore. Only problem is that it's so hard to live with it when it gets itchy and flares up! Now, after years of suffering and trying damn near everything, I did a bit of research and a bit of experimentation and I can safely say that now I believe it's caused by a fungus. The first thing that helped me alleviate my dry scalp symptoms was tea tree infused shampoo. I never sought professional help, but a hair stylist once sold me on her product to help me take care of my scalp. I bought tea tree oil too, but the oil by itself did not work to cure or lessen the dry scalp, it only soothed the itching. Anywho, I was hooked on the shampoo for the last 2 or so years but my scalp would only ever be clean for about 24 hours if that much, 48 hrs MAX in a good week. Eventually, another hair stylist recommended an anti-fungal ointment that wasn't available near me, so I decided to try a ketoconazole shampoo. I stumbled upon the ingredient through research and partly by random luck! The shampoo is easily available in Guyana (where I was at the time) and it's cheap, so I tried it and for the first time in YEARS it cured my scalp. I am still using it because I notice if I go too many days without washing my head will become greasy, sweaty and itchy, and I just feel gross and want to wash it. In some instances the dry scalp comes back but I think that's because I'm still in the early stages of curing it and I am not consistent with my treatments. If you use the ointment itself you will probably get better results, but I am using a shampoo and I am always in the gym and live a very active, busy lifestyle, so the shampoo is the best method for me right now. I also implemented new things to help reduce the spread of fungus/bacteria. Now, I comb my hair with a cheap comb I can throw away afterwards so the comb didn't pick up and trap the fungus. If I don't toss it, I'll be reintroducing fungus to my head the next time I use that comb. I also use a fresh towel and toss it in the wash afterwards. Changing my pillow case frequently is important too, and using clean hair ties as well. Basically you need to treat it like if you had lice. You would avoid hats you've worn when you had lice, you wouldn't lay in the pillow with your lice head and use it again once its cured, or use the same towel multiple times. If you can envision fungus as a living thing spreading everywhere that your hair and scalp makes contact with, you'd get an idea of how to treat it and what to do to keep your environment fresh and fungus-free. invest in an anti-fungal shampoo and wash your hair often (like 4 times a week on avg) and use fresh tools each time, until you eventually permanently fix the scalp. An anti-fungal ointment would be better! But I am not a medical doctor so please do your own research before taking my advice. My HOPE is that it will go away on its own eventually, but I only recently discovered this shampoo & method and I know now that it WORKS for. me. SO I am sharing in hopes that you or any other person suffering from dry scalp can find some relief as well. xx

@gypsykyley

Do NOT use any oral medication . Big Pharma medication is not meant to cure or help with this .I compare oral medication to dirty bandaids , seems like they help BUT in the long run very bad for the health . Big Pharma is only in it for the money…Instead….to heal scalp psoriasis do not consume sugar , chocolate , gluten , any nightshade vegetables ( peppers , egg plant , tomatoes , potatoes )dairy , cheese . Eliminate these for a month or more and when the psoriasis is gone add one of these foods one at a time to see which ones trigger your psoriasis , then eliminate that one . ALSO , get out in the sun to get lots of vitamin D which helps greatly . Most people with psoriasis do not get enough vitamin D . I know all of this because I am in the process of doing these exact things to try and heal my head psoriasis. Also take slippery elm bark tea ( take this before bed and at least6 to 8 hours BEFORE or after TAKING the other ones mentioned , yellow saffron tea ( not the expensive one ) L-Glutamine . Read up on when to take these . Good luck , Good healing….

I would like to hear about bald spots or alopecia. How do you determine if hair will grow back in that area ? What are some things to help treat the targeted spots? (Based upon different scalps described in the above video as well as hair type treatment recommendation). What to do if you have alopecia for years and no growth in bald areas? Thank you
@jessicalinneaa
@jessicalinneaa 3 года назад
I have alopecia and have had some bald spots. For me the first time I got one was very scary since I didn’t really know if my hair would ever grow back. My doctor back then said that it’s hard to tell if the hairs will grow back and only time would tell. It took about 1 year before some tiny white/grey hairs started to grow in the middle of the bald spot. Then it took about 6-12 months before the hair was long enough to blend in with my hair. Btw it’s only the first strands that grow out that have no pigment in them so don’t be scared if you would see that, they will eventually get their pigment and the rest will also have their usual pigment of your hair. There is topical treatments you can use to stimulate the hair follicles to wake them up from their sleep and also micro needling the bald spot. I don’t know if this helped but it’s what I know from my own experience 😊

I thought this might help. Just like we can be allergic to dairy and nuts, we are hugely allergic to sugar too.

Also, when I used to have a perm, I noticed my dandruff to be a big problem as well. I no longer have a perm and my hair and scalp feel much healthier. And my dandruff is very minimum now. If I spot any dandruff it's due to not moisturizing my scalp. But, what I did to curb my dandruff was invest in tea tree shampoo, rosemary oil and a scrub brush that you can purchase from any hair supply shop. All the best!

Scalp scrub is v important💫💜 Best to do a scalp scrub, with a decent product at least once or twice a month (it doesn't hv to be an expensive brand, although the best I found was on QVC, Tweak'd by Nature & it wasn't cheap - but an inexpensive brand will do as long as its not too sharp grained - use scalp scrub to remove all build up. Rosemary oil twice a week can help too, & cutting down sugar.🙏💜)

Autoimmune alopecia / hair breakage. I’m not a chemist but a nurse and trying to find natural ingredients before resulting to rogain. Wondering if natural ingredients and micro needling will help instead of micro needling and rogain. Subbed. My texture is very soft and curly. Very informative and straight to the point.
