I work at dealership in the 80s, the owner had cocaine and strippers in his office over the weekend. I helped clean up the mess on Monday before his wife found out...lol. He eventually lost his franchise due to odometer tampering

My dad was service manager / director for a few local ford dealerships. My father in law sales manager for many local dealerships. Both been in the auto dealership world since the 70’s and recently retired. I’m one of the rare ones who’s in-laws get along great lol they’re always talking and sharing stories from the dealership days.

Had a friend who owned a Dealership when someone he knew came in to buy a new car and if they were close to a deal he would say he would throw in a special gift in the glovebox to seal the deal. The special gift was an eight ball of coke.

15 years in the parts world at dealerships...i could write a book about everything i see and hear...the back parts counter is like a bar...everyone comes and tells me their drama or whatever...i usually dont learn a new salesmans or managers name unless they have been there 90 days...so many coming and going in this world...

Man you got that shit right about ppl working at dealerships being a dif breed. I worked at Tri cities Nissan JC TN in 2000-01. Always something going down from everyone sleeping together or doing shady dope deals in the back where W/S cars were to midnight madness sales.

In the early 90s I tried to sell new and used cars at a large Toyota dealership in Covington, KY. After I sold my first, and only, car two of the older salesmen took my out for drinks. One of these guys was the stereotypical sleazy car salesman. Slicked back hair, porn star mustache, cheap suit that looked expensive, fake Rolex. I watched this guy buy an 8 ball from the bartender at this hole in the wall bar, using his credit card!

My boy got fired from a used car lot because on his day off he got caught for a hit and run out of town and turned out the car he hit was thw owner of said dealership 🤣

My dad has a 97 OBS crew cab dually. 454 Vortec 4L80 auto. Has an aftermarket cowl hood on it and runs great. Pulls a 34 foot gooseneck enclosed trailer hauling a 72 nova drag car inside it. Bought it in October of 2019. Sat for 2 years with the trailer hooked up to it. Put some fresh gas and a new battery in it and it fired right up. Has the eagle alloy wheels on it. Has 206K on it. Had 174 on it when he first bought it. Big fan of your stories. I absolutely enjoy them.

One thing that will kill a franchise faster than it takes for Detroit to dial the owner is irregularities with the floor plan financing agreement.

Reno Nevada I didn’t work at any but I knew a bunch of the people involved. They changed how you get certain prescriptions because of it.

A few dealerships in Georgia no longer have to worry about the car market crashing being their biggest concern

I worked at Landmark Chevrolet in houston for a few months i loved it, then one day we were shut down out of no where along with a few other dealerships the owner owned, apparently Bill Heard wasn’t paying his operating expenses, And customers got screwed on their trade ins. it was a mess.

I worked in a dealership in the early 80's I could tell you stories your never going to beleve from hookers covered in blow laying on hoods of exotic cars to naked orgy pool party's at the owners house on a ski resort, Monday's were damage control bailing out half the sales staff & getting demos out of impound lots. I wouldn't trade ANY of the memories & living it for gold bars it was ABSOLUTLY party on for 6 years making money & having a blast doing it.
