Start going to your local car meets, and find people who have those skillsets. Befriend them and hangout with them. It really only takes one person if you pick em right . I hung out at a friend of mines shop almost every day for like 1.5/2 years. Just going over there to chill, watch, learn, help when I could. He taught me everything I know about cars and after awhile started letting me use his shop and tools whenever I wanted to and would help me with projects like transmissions, engines, you name it. Now he's moved away and doesn't fool with cars anymore, shops been sold, but I still have the skillset he passed on to me and now I can do whatever is needed to a car to get it back going again. I try to give back when I can now, when some of my friends have problems with their stuff. Its all a cycle of giving and receiving useful skills and tidbits of information in life. RU-vid is also an amazing tool to help you do it yourself with a little guidance
