Understanding Frequency Response Charts | ADAM Audio
In this video, ADAM Audio Product Manager, Stephan Mauer, deep-dives into how to understand frequency charts, and how they are used to judge the performance of a studio monitor. All of ADAM Audio's studio monitors extend past the typical range of human hearing at 20 kHz... all the way up to 50 kHz, limiting THD and ear fatigue so you can work longer hours.
The ADAM Audio T Series: www.adam-audio...
The ADAM Audio AX Series: www.adam-audio...
The ADAM Audio S Series: www.adam-audio...
ADAM Audio was founded in March 1999 in Berlin. Since then the company has been developing, manufacturing and distributing loudspeakers in the field of Professional Audio.
The development of the X-ART (eXtended Accelerating Ribbon Technology) tweeter based on the 1960’s invention of the Air Motion Transformer by Oskar Heil was largely responsible for the company’s founding. Producing sound not with a piston-like diaphragm as is done in most of the loudspeakers that are on the market, but using a pleated diaphragm that is capable of moving the air 4 times faster than the folds themselves are moving was the appealing idea behind it all. The achieved results were intriguing and gave ample reason for moving forward.

Good to add frequency measured by your speakers and explain about Adam's decision making to have this curve or that curve.

In modeling box for sound reinforcement systems... What really account for loudness and flat responds? 1.Quality of raw woofer? Or 2.Perfectness of box modelled Or 3. Both.. competition is coming up.

Hi, I have never understood what my speaker crossover should be set at which is what brought me to this video hoping to find what I should set my crossover at. I understand that different channels have different frequencies but I don't know how to pull my crossover from that. Currently, I have a collection of different brands of speakers. I use Definitive Technology BP-8040ST Bipolar Tower as my fronts, Definitive Technology CS-8040HD at center, Fluance Elite High Definition 2-Way Bipolar Surround Speakers with 2 old Onkyo bookshelf speakers as high fronts connected to a Sony STRDN1040. Yes I know it's pretty old but that's what I have to work with at the moment. how do I find the crossover? I tried the auto-calibrate but it just doesn't sound that good

Hi there! Here the room (and possible modes) also have a big impact. The most accurate answer to the question in terms of headroom would probably be the S6X www.adam-audio.com/en/main-monitor/s6x/

I know that for speakers, the target has been established, which is a speaker should ideally have a flat frequency response in an anechoic chamber. My question is: Who said that/discovred that What's the title of the research paper

Stephan Mauser you and everyone does not understand frequency response cuz what you and everyone does is very wrong making the top part of the frequency flat that is wrong cuz bass is naturally bigger then the other sound waves so when you set the top of the bass sound to match the top of the mid and treble frequencies the bass frequencies loudness will be a lot lower then the other frequencies that is not flat frequency response.

Good stuff. I'm pretty sure with just a little effort even a beginner can figure some of it by reading the axes labels. What almost no streamers include in their presentations are details about smoothing. It was mentioned quickly here, but it is extremely important. Almost any defect can be concealed with smoothing. Every graph should have an indication of the smoothing so we can be sure our comparisons are valid.

Having speakers beyond and below human hearing capabilities (average person cannot hear above 15hz and most of the isntruments plays in the range of 1000 to 4000hz) reaching 50000 hz is very important for bats and dogs audiophiles.

Are AX series currently the worst in off-axis frequency response? They do not have the wave guide for the tweeters as in the newer Adam models.

Super video series by Adam audio and as a consumer of Adam products I'm very proud. Btw I'd like to know whether we can get the frequency curves of Adam speakers just to look and have an idea since everyone haven't got the privilege to hear all of the models in person. If we have the curves, we can see the graph of a particular model and order them online if we like and know the sound produces according to the that particular curve.

Hello Stephan. I’m a proud owner of a pair Adam Audio T7V. These monitors are really amazing. They easily outperform other studio monitors that cost twice as much. Question: The T7V have a max SPL of 110 dB. When I use an SPL meter, the instantaneous measurement only reads around 100 dB C weighted at max volume. How can I reach the max SPL output? I hope you can help me out. Kind regards, Emiel333.

I've been thinking of buying studio monitors for many months, going back and forth of different monitors, for both hifi entertainment use and for music work as I would like to replace my Klipsch rp280f and rf52II speakers and my bulky av receiver to save A lot of useful space. s3v seems to tick lot of boxes for me not super expensive and nice design not too small or too huge. How well does s3v compare to RP280f in power and sound quality?
@ADAMAudioBerlin
@ADAMAudioBerlin 4 года назад
Not 100% sure as I haven't heard that exact model... The S3V is a great monitor and has tuning technology built in so you can adjust it for what sounds best in your room. Like you said, it's active as well (with studio-quality amplifiers) which helps cut down on space. It's also a true three way, which helps reproduce that midrange quality a bit better than 2 or 2-and-a-half way speakers. Hope that helps!

@ADAMAudioBerlin
@ADAMAudioBerlin 4 года назад
B. Sonarworks).
