@@redandblue1013 Hey, who didn't try wiping the default Skyrim, "Hey you, you're finally awake" opening from their memory after using an Alternate Start mod?
@@theuberedredspy8791 I can’t express how much I love alternate start. Normally when people say “permanent place in my load order” it’s a slight exaggeration. Even USSEP, I’d consider removing in a hypothetical scenario because of some changes it makes. Maybe theres a scenario where I remove skyUI for some testing. But AS will truly have a permanent place. Don’t have to wait ten mins to make a new save for testing, or just in general Fixes script bugs causing the cart to bug out Alternate… starts. Roleplay You know what’s so cool? If you go back to the abandoned prison after you’ve started your game, go look at what you find on your bed you rested on. Cool mystery with many possible in-lore explanations Author even put in a framework for modders to add their own starts The VA is so well done as everyone is saying. In fact the line she gives you is enough motivation for me to play the vanilla start because I just think it’s such a cool line
Mara: May your silver tongue let you reach the limits of the sky, my child *wakes you up in front of a giant about to swing you straight into aetherious
Good to see that Elenwen is still rude af as one of her lackeys, giving you a reason to flip the Thalmor the bird. Although I do actually like the thought of having Thalmor membership, reminds me of how the Nerevarine can join the Temple before finding out they're the fulfillment of the prophecy, despite them teaching that the Nerevarine prophecy is heresy and disappear any claimants. Also in the realm of things making sense, they expel you the instant you fully become the Nerevarine. I could easily see such a thing for Skyrim if it was set up more how Morrowind was, just dumping you off in the land after character creation and saying "alright, here you go, there's a dungeon you can clear nearby or maybe not, make sure to give that letter to Caius the Naked Skooma Addict the next town over if you please"
Yeah, I really like how open ended that was, Caius even kicks you out for a while to go out into the world and do stuff before he lets you go on. Oblivion starts you off with the main quest but you just end up outside the biggest city in the game with lots of distractions, plus it's good to build yourself up before moving on to Chorrol. Skyrim just leads you to this tiny village where some guy lets you take whatever you want from his stash. I dunno, feels kinda weird but eh. Daggerfall is brutal, it starts you in this long dungeon full of all kinds of things that want to kill you and you get to learn the combat system while doing it. Savage lol.
Eh, bitchy superiors aren't too uncommon, tbh. Still, I'd join the Dominion if Queen Ayrenn was leading it, or of the Thalmor were to reform after like, an Alinor Civil War or something. Either way, screw the Empire
@@maximaldinotrap He can of course but it's so sad that all the bandit meat gets wasted especially when clearing caves or forts full of bandits :( And imagine all the new possible dishes you could cook. A fine Nord stew with garlic, cabbage, potatoes and a bit of a fine mead. Or you could make a smoothie with precious Aldmer meat and some healthy greens. Because most of them are wizards and they like making potions so why not put 'em right in a bottle? 😊
I'm guessing it's because there really aren't any wood elf groups in Skyrim. Plus, being a hunter in the woods would already be most fitting of a wood elf.
@Charlie Barley Yeah, it's really hard. Maybe the herbalist questline. You know the special nirnroot, since they arent allowed to harvest plants in Valenwood bc of the green pact.
@@fyraltari1889 Yes, that's true, of course. I was trying to describe her sphere in as little words as possible, but I know see that didn't work so well.
I wish theses mods would actually effect your whole game they just give you a different start or makes some enemies on your side that would be cool if there was different quests for each alternate start that’s would effect the game and your characters identity to the npcs
I have a Snow Elf mod and I wish it had a specific start, that would be neat! But I always do the museum start anyways so I can have the guild and safehouse, lol
Oh, glad this mod isn't broken, at least. It's kinda required for replays, really. Gotta see if the Ordinator perk mods and other mods made by the same person still work, they're really great.
As cool as this whole mod is and I love it, the imperial, high elf, redguard, and breton starts are gonna be really awkward later down the line with other quests
i did a roleplay once where my character started as a thalmor agent but eventually defected and rebelled against them after learning more about the world and his dragonborn blood
One of my favorite characters I play is an Altmer named Othrian. He was a member of the Thalmor, but wanted to find a safe way to leave. He decided on Skyrim because he figured the Thalmor in the Province would be busy trying to manipulate the Civil war. Too busy to properly investigate the disappearance of a Justiciar.
This seems like a cool new detail. I can't wait to do anniversary edition. I'm hoping that they so anniversary edition in VR. I play Skyrim in VR and am not great at typical video game formats in terms of combat although I still love those games.
@@alonelysnacc2442 Would be nice for them to do something similar as to how Dragon Age Origins did it's beginning sections depending on what "origin" you picked
Exactly like if you were higher if you should have the option to either join the Thalmor or the High elf monks ‘forgot the name of the group’ instead of being an Imperial officer in the army or a rebel fighter
Funny enough, Morrowind kinda did this too, so there's an actual precedent for something like it in Elder Scrolls, because Fallout is not only another IP but New Vegas was also developed by Obsidian. It wasn't quite on the level of "members of this faction will kill you for wearing their enemies uniforms", but the Imperial Legion quest givers would refuse to give you quests and say you were out of uniform without an acceptable Legion chestplate (unfortunately some don't actually count, like Legion Silver armor). The Ordinators would also attempt to kill you on sight if you wore their helmet, chestplate, or some other armor piece and spoke to them, and there was no way to undo that so your only option was to reset it with console commands or kill every Ordinator you see and I guess hopefully you weren't planning to advance in the Temple much. Small stuff, but Skyrim could have benefited more from it. Realistically, Captain Aldis wouldn't just go up to you and ask if you're a Stormcloak if you enter Solitude wearing their armor, it's assumed that you are and he'd greet you with a greatsword to the torso. Likewise it should be assumed that anyone wearing Thalmor robes or Legion armor (and perhaps even elven armor in general as it seems to be a Thalmor uniform) that walks up to Windhelm is coming back out disassembled and in a box. I do not like when games that once assumed the player was competent decide that we are now too dumb to breathe without instructions.
@@redeye4516 sadly the only time it got implemented was the embassy infiltration. If you're an elf race you can pass as thalmor with the hooded robes, and if you're high elf specifically pretty much noone saw through it.
@@fireblast133 Always bugged me that Dunmer get away with the hooded robes thing. The ashen skin and bright red eyes should be noticeable from a distance.
It's not as bad as you think. Reavers are just bandits, there's a lot of strong gear you can get really easily, and the east empire lockboxes get you a ton of money right away.
I am really excited for this cause I always wanted alternate beginnings for each race cause I thought the vanilla Skyrim beginning was cool but also boring cause it happened to every character you choose. So l’ll play this mod
NPC -, Wow lucky your the dragon born, you cam rend the sky with a shout and bring destruction to your enemies even dragons and absorb dragon souls to get even more powerful, you are living the dream. Dragonborn - I just wanna be a vampire thrall.
Anyone have a clue why this was cut from Nexus..? Funny thing is, you can still find russian translations & whatnot, but the original version is gone as far as I can tell...
I wish you could have genuinely played a questline as a Penitus Oculatus agent. Like the mirror of the Dark Brotherhood questline maybe instead of the opposite being a single "kill all of them" one.
Does anyone know of a mod that stops NPC's talking about you being in Helgen? I use Random Alternate Start, and it's highly irritating how Ulfric/ Ralof/ Galmar etc, keep talking to me like I was in Helgen during Alduins attack, I can't start a new game until I find a mod to correct this!
I wonder what compells justiciar at the Thalmor embassy to suddenly abandoned their post and get involved with blades, greybeards, prophesies and all that other nonsense
If an Altmer can literally be a part of the Thalmor, then I think an alternate start for a Bosmer could be either being/training under a Treethane. Not sure where it would put you though, maybe Solitude as it's a political position of sorts?
It's the Live Another Life mod, I believe. Lets you have a different intro than the vanilla game, with some modification to the opening quests. I think you're still the Dragonborn, though
@@mikeingognito3171 There's an option for a quick alternate start mod on the ps 4 or the realm of lorkhan. I've used both and prefer quick alternate start it let's you start in a faction, inn or owning property or being left for dead. It's very similar but not as good imo
You almost need the Unofficial Patch to really /enjoy/ Skyrim, lol. It gets rid of quite a bit of glitches, as well as the exploitables (like using the telekinesis spell on an item, and fast travel across the map, boom max Alteration), can't remember the exact list but there were some unfinished quests that you can now do, or quests that were just dropped (and finished) entirely. Mixed with SMIM (Static Mesh Improvement Mod) which polishes all the clutter in buildings, the open world, and dungeons etc to make them less JANK.
@@ryanbarber6481 you don't need it at all. It removes features that were meant to be in the game and just removing areas of map just cause. It adds just as many glitches that it claims to fix.
"Wood elves don't hunt animals" Ah yes, because not every Wood Elf you encounter throughout Skyrim talks of the taste of animal meat, carries a bow and comes from a hunting based culture in Valenwood. *The Drunken Huntsmen exists* *Anoriath in Whiterun exists* *Wood elf cannibalism exists* "Do you hunt? The plains around Whiterun are ripe with game." My god what an ignorant comment, it's like you haven't touched an elder scrolls game in your life.
Too bad Arthmoor is a POS and treats the community like garbage by gatekeeping his mods from Nexus. Also this mod does some funky worldspace edits to the game and for the inexperienced they can be quite grating to fix. Realm of Lorkhan is the better alternative tbh (although that itself requires some patching, but hey, better than needing to have USSEP downloaded to use this)
Giving some hope Whatever you have done, no matter how bad you life is, there is hope. Jesus died in our place, that all our sins could be forgiven, so we can spend eternity with Him instead of hell. He saved me from an addiction to lustful websites, depression with that feeling to end it all and hate to those who i now can love through Jesus's grace to me. He has given me new life, a new heart and saved me from my sins through the cross( even the ones you dont tell people about). He can do the same for you, only if you believe and become saved by his grace not your own works(since we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and his holy justice only forgiven by the Sons undeserved sacrifice on the cross, look at the ten commandments to see how we all are guilty without Gods grace through the Christ).
