That was interesting. As I watched the last few minutes, I was thinking it would be neat if you bought several different "flavors" of Kit Kat and one of you were blindfolded. The other would hand a Kit Kat to the blindfolded one and see if he could name the flavor. I'd love to see what would happen if you couldn't see the color or know ahead of time was it was "supposed" to taste like. I hope you'll consider doing something like that. Love your videos. Thank you.
I'm a little late to this, but they did do a video like that! It was a collaboration with Ericsurf6. Im not sure if its on their channel or his, but it exists
They did have the chestnut kitkat last year. I know because I went to Japan last year for the first time and bought a bag lol I didn't think it tasted strongly of chestnut but my coworker said it reminded her of chestnut CAKE
I used to zap store bought chocolate chip cookies in the microwave for 5-10 seconds as a college student. Brings it right back to life. Hadn't thought about that in years.
Summer was long, hot and horrific here in Colorado. Lots of devastating forest fires that burned for way too long. Another great video. Thank you for sharing. The snacks looked yummy 😋. 🙏
On a visit to Japan I really enjoyed the hot chestnuts that I bought in the street. On my next visit I was in the supermarket and smelled a really good smell coming from some brown paper bags - they were hot so I popped one in my basket to eat back at my AirBnb. What a surprise I got - they turned out to be sweet potato. And that's how I discovered I like sweet potato!
I live in the southern USA. We have candied yams for Thanksgiving. The sweet potato kit kat taste like those to me. We had a friend stationed in Japan and he brought some back!!!! I could taste the candied yams (sweet potatos) like the marshmellow and brown sugar lol
The apple pie kit-kat is the funniest for me. We actually have those here in Florida, though ours are bigger, white chocolate, and come in a yellow package. Ours also actually taste like apple pie, they're really surprisingly tasty. So I'm both surprised and amused that the Japanese version, the home of flavored kit-kats, don't taste the same.
Thanks to Ai-neesan--she is truly a fount of yummy foods! Your consternation, guys, made me laugh! You both tried so hard to reconcile the proposed flavor with the actual flavor of most of the items. I know exactly what you meant, Shinichi, when you asked, "Did someone taste test these?" Hahaha! And the Pretz "purse" construction was also funny. Love to both of you and to Justin. You light up each day with your kindness and humor. ❤️
I was in Japan a year and a half ago and got try some unique kit-kat flavours. My favourite, if forced to limit it to just the one, would have to have been matcha. But, then again, I am a bit of a matcha addict, so I’m probably a bit biased.
Chocopie reminds me of Moon Pies like we have in the Southern US. The middles are marshmallow and has 3 layers of the cookie/cake part. I grew up on those. Putting them in the microwave for a few seconds made it so good. Love your videos guys! Happy Fall!
Having tried both, plus Wagon Wheels, I will say that Moon Pies are the best. Sadly they are not available up here except at special import stores. I'd say Choco Pies and Wagon Wheels are more similar.
Thanks to Ai-neesan! I loved the chestnut KitKat that I got last October when I visited Tokyo, and I am wishing I could visit again to get more snacks. 😂
I was intrigued with the apple pie kit kats. I picked some up the other day (in the USA), they were already on clearance (way marked down), they came in a regular 4 piece size, they were white chocolate. To me they kinda just tasted white with some cinnamon or nutmeg.
So, I wanna try each and every one of these treats.. Looks like Justin would too.. :) I'm going to put on 10kg when I'm allowed to visit Japan again... Thanks guys, I love watching you try treats.. :)
I got the apple pie KitKats in my Tokyo Treat box. I don't think it tastes like apple pie, but more like if you cooked down tart apples with a bunch of sugar. I do get a little grape smell but no grape flavor.
I love the autumn sweets in Japan. I really miss the freshy roasted sweet potatoes, even the annoying music some stores play to show they have this autumn snack. Too bad the choco pie is not that chesnutty. Yes they had that chesnut kit kat last year perhaps the chocolate is to overwhelming for the chesnut flavour? The soft cookie and milk I really would like to try! love the package with Peco on it. Saya love their restaurants hahaha I think the aple pie kitkat is purple to stay in the halloween theme.
Here in Norway there's Christmas and Easter special candy but otherwise no especially seasonal... And because of sugar tax the section is both smaller and more expensive...
Great video guy's. I think Kit Kat is just getting lazy their in Japan. They know your very open to different flavors so they are throwing what ever seems cool at you and I'm getting the vibe that chestnut is Japans pumpkin spice. Here in the U.S. everything is pumpkin spice this time of year. Oh and purple and black are the popular colors for Halloween here in America. 😊👍🙏👏💖
I thought LOTTE was a joint Korean-Japanese company (but just has many products exclusive to one country or the other)? I love their Milkis sodas (strawberry and melon, especially). And a lot of the non-chocolate KitKats can be a bit too sweet with the white chocolate base (sometimes masking the intended flavor), so I kinda prefer the more tart (raspberry, cranberry) or salty (Ocean Salt, nuts) ones...and the hojicha tea ones are nice because the flavor makes the sweetness not so bad. I gave my family (including a Japanese sister-in-law and her 2 sons) a bunch of Japanese KitKats the past few years and they generally didn't like the white chocolate-based ones, saying they were too sweet.
I had the sweet potato and chestnut KitKats last year, and they were as bland as you said, tasted just like white chocolate. The apple pie ones were very tasty though, maybe they made them more subtle this year :/
Guys, Love all your videos !!! The Milky candy you tried with chestnut, you said it had a coffee flavor to it you could not place. Im thinking what you might have been thinking about was Hazelnut.
Our summer was surprisingly not to hot or humid ( I live in Columbus Georgia so it usually is really hot and humid ) I wish we had a Japanese grocery store here...we have a few Asian stores but....one of them got in trouble for health viol6and dumping stuff they didnt use in the river...and the other one does not sell alot of Japanese stuff. Be careful of your feelings, they are goin to come off again? What do u mean? lol
funny that no pumpkin flavored everything by you? I love pumpkin pie because its basically like a custard but pumpkin flavored coffee or anything else is really iffy or questionable
Yes! Kit kats! So strange..why is the apple pie purple? The ones here in the US they are white and it does taste somewhat like apple pie. Very strange... Oh I just got my Bokksu box today. It's so great!
I recently registered: "Wait a minute..... they still have chestnuts in Japan!" (In America, most of the chestnut trees died of a blight. One of the last was across the street when I was a child. It did too sadly die but it was so isolated there it lasted a long time.)
I just ordered the chesnut kit kats, but I will not get them unitl Dec. I am in NY Now after watching I am dissappointed. I love chesnuts and chestnut paste. 🌰🌰
Kit kat fail!? no flavors! reminds me of the Honey factory job I had for 2 days. Horrible job and they just put different labels on the honey that was in the same holding tank. Different stores and different flavors on the label but all the same honey.
HEY GUYS SORRY I'VE BEEN AWAY FOR SO LONG BUT WITH MY MOM HAVING HAD A STROKE AND THEN COMING HOME ONLY TO HAVE TO GO RIGHT BACK INTO THE HOSPITAL AGAIN THINGS HAVE BEEN A COMPLETE MESS. I LOVE ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING CHESTNUT AND SWEET POTATO FLAVORED SO IF I COULD GET U TO SEND ME A FEW THINGS IT SURE WOULD MAKE MY LIFE A LITTLE BRIGHTER ESPECIALLY NOW. I DON'T THINK THINGS COULD POSSIBLY GET ANY WORSE. THOSE FLAVORS TOTALLY THREW U GUYS THROUGH A LOOP BUT I THINK YOU'D LOVE THE YAKI SOBA APPLE PIE NOODLES WITH SOME VANILLA ICE CREAM. TRY IT IT'S DELICIOUS AND IT REALLY DOES TASTE LIKE APPLE PIE A LA MODE. HUG'S TO U ALL. 🤗🤗🐕🐕🐾🐾🐶🐶
We rarely get special flavor Kit Kats where I live in Canada. It looks like these were not the greatest but it was fun watching you taste test them. I would still love to try the chestnut one though ! Love your channel...hugs
That’s because we live in the matrix, and the matrix hasn’t figured out how to make Kit Kats taste like apple pie, does everything taste like White chocolate
