@@theyedmeister6981 he's using the machines to keep a pearl in the air forever at both locations and a flip flop so that the dogs only effect one machine at a time. So he uses the nether portal to get the dogs to sit, whichever machine is next on the flip flop drops its pearl, and then he gets teleported to the dropped pearl and the flip flop is switched so next activation takes him back

You could build a teleportation hub where you first shoot a specific item through the overworld portal that determines how fast you get sent back by the setup in the nether. That way you could set up the activation timings really precise so you prevent accidental triggiring.

It's the player going through the portal that activates this, but there probably would be a way to get around that, by using wolves in the nether as well which process the information. The current system here works by using the amount of time the player spends in the nether to decide where they want to go. But if u wanted to use an item to determine the location of where the player wanted to go, u would prolly need another dog processing station back in the overworld. something like, u pick ur destination, go to the nether, come back and then it activates. you'd then have to setup a way to trigger the chamber back the central processing station remotely.

My point is imagine being ilmango and everything you do is responded to with something like "let's see what mumbo does with this" meanwhile ilmango arguably has a better grasp on redstone. "Wireless redstone" sells this idea short, I think. The practical implications for a dimensional detector on multiplayer servers are practically limitless! I'd be surprised if the SciCraft server didn't have one in its nether hub by Tuesday marking which players are in each dimension. (Probably done using a simple array for the Nether, and a single portal with multiple connections and an item filter for the overworld)

@@joda7697 i just remembered something, the permaloader was only need because the hopper method had a cool down meaning that if chunks were going through an unloading cycle there was a chance that the chunk would get unloaded right? well this chunk loading method doesn't have the cooldown period so you don't have to worry about it

I once made a wolf-based alarm system using the fact that when a sitting wolf gets wet, they stand up, and thus teleport to their owner if they're far enough away... and still, I never knew that they'd sit when you leave the dimension! New-old mechanics! :D Also, you should name the puppy Ansible.

Incidentally, what actually happens when an ender pearl lands in a different dimension? Are you teleported in your dimension to that location? Or are you pulled across dimensions? Or does nothing happen and you just take a bit of damage?

The enderpearl just flies through the portal - At least it does that with the nether portal, i'm not sure about the ender portal, i have to test

@@joselandaeta5677 Ah I meant standing in the first dimension and throwing the pearl, then travelling to the second dimension and waiting for it to land (you'd likely have a second player to keep the chunks loaded)
