Considering I could only watch this in 1080p, I can't imagine with 1440p with high FPS on a good TV might look like. I think we're at a point where graphics are so good they're not worth worrying about. Just make sure the FPS is good and I am happy.
It'll take a few years before developers can make use of Unreal engine 5 the way the creators of the engine can. But the future looks fricken promising that's for sure!
Seems like this engine will be much easier to work with due to not having a need for normal maps and optimising etc etc. I dont think there will be much of an adjustment period involved.
@@benchmarkslab2005 One thing is comparing a fully built remaster/game to a specifically designed demo to showcase a yet to be released next-gen engine. I don't think we should be too expective of the remaster to really showcase the engine capabilities. They hopefully have a surprise up their sleeves for next-gen. I want CryTek to melt consoles and PCs again.
As a casual gamer, I think the technology is the coolest. All the computing that went into the next gen like illumination and predictive foot placement. Like wow that's neat
What do you like about this game? It shows nothing special, just the graphics (which is the purpose). The light orb is literally just a point light, you can create it in unity by literally right clicking and then create light > point light. The flying part was cool but that's all, everything else is just tomb raider

Damn just imagine what other engines could do with this tech this is only the unreal engine five,imagine all the new ones they could possibly develop? Not to mention the Cryengine,frostbite or Decima engines. Incredible.
@AceBoogz Gaming if you read the article they specifically state that this is from the dev kit which is using a slower SSD and they specifically stated in their own words that it was directly from the dev kits and showcased in real time from it. They were very specific on that
I think xiomi (maybe other chinese company) is going to sell very soon a relatively cheap OLED display! I saw a blog post on it a week ago. it has 1000 nits brightness and hdr 10 certified. you should definitely check it out
I'm calling it now this Tech Demo is eventually going to become a full-fledged PS5 game. Also Bethesda take notes this is what a proper improved gameplay engine looks like.
You can call it now all you want...Epic always puts out demos and theyve never turned them into games. It's just a Tomb Raider knock-off. Use your head.

not really, it was confirmed that horizon zero dawn 2 will be a benchmark for next gen consoles, they said aloy (main character) will have more polygons than any of the npc combined from the previous game, that says A LOT
I honestly doubt we will see this level of detail in open world games for a long time to come. For a short tech demo they go all out of course, but this level of detail in an entire open world.... don't know. Even if it's possible, it would still be a tremendous task that just isn't cost effective.
Rockstar implied they would make another red dead so lets say a 2027-2030 release.. with rockstars known for their level of detail on their games its possible imagine a red dead like shown here

E V All this is; is that Sony payed epic games to show off unreal engine 5 on their console instead of Xbox. Xbox will actually be more beautiful than this due to it being a more capable machine
It wouldn't surprise me if this Tech Demo becomes a actual game for the PS5 like how the KARA Tech Demo for the PS4 eventually became Detroit: Become Human.
what they shown wasnt just graphics, look at the features, its mostly particles, physics and AI. which is inbuild meaning that developers uses it through Unreal5 without having code it themselves, so its less time and money consuming.
Everyone’s always like “oh it’s not 60 FPS and 4K smh it’s not good enough for me” but I more appreciate the way walking actually makes sense when you go up stairs and inclines. The little things matter
Well, if it runs well and the gameplay is fun, I could give less of a shit about how things can interact with each other or how it looks graphically. I’ve reached the point where if something doesn’t aid gameplay in anyway, I could honestly do without it, but I cannot deny that this tech demo is still really impressive.
The order is already doing this kind of graphics since the ps4 And the walking for uncharted I don't need a game that's taking my ps5 storage space because of graphics I want to have that storage focus on content but not live service
lets see you in 4 years. cant wait to play games with those graphics but this is gonna take years before we see this into the market. games with similar graphics to the UE4 Tech demo are now in the market but that's almost 4 years after the tech demo.
Consoles reached peak visual graphics with capabilities with ps3/xbox360. Only advancements have been lighting/environment details and character physics.
lol Sony ha shown nothing this is a epic demo who said it would run on Xbox too. Big difference is this is only 2k with no ray tracing. Also what game play? This is the same type of game play Xbox showed off for it 3rd party developers last week.
Man.... I know this is a tech demo but I remember thinking launch titles like Killzone shadowfall was peak tech and we would never go beyond that... I can't even imagine what end of life PS5 games will be like
They need to release a remastered version of Killzone shadowfall with the original version that was around 250 gb I bet that would look absolutely beautiful. The reduced version they released still had the best graphics for a current gen game along with Horizon.
Just rewatched the demo reel from UE3 and it's hard to point out how many games come close to even that. Then I think about the fact that Modern Warfare does but I wonder how many companies will ever have the money to make anything remotely close to this demo. We can dream I guess.
