The next mechanism I am going to implement in my AI series is hiding in bushes. For that, when the player character is inside a bush, even though the character is hidden, there should be some way for player to see that. For that, I am going to implement a custom depth based postprocess material to show the characters figure through the bush. This is somewhat similar to outline rendering, but not just the outline, all the characters shape would be rendered.

This was fun to do! My character is quite short so I had to make modifications such placing the bush_collider on top of his head but it worked out great!

You have a collision in your bush static mesh as default, but most of bushes don't have default collider in their static Mesh. This is why some people (including me) can't figure out how to overlap. Solution is just make a blueprint actor, add staticmesh(bush) and add collider(sphere, capsule) in your blueprint and set it in your map.

It’s better to create a collision directly in the Static Mesh, there is an option for that. Don’t turn your static mesh as a Blueprint only for this

@CodeLikeMe where did u place your post process volume? I can't figure it out. I followed exactly as in the video. The only problem I have is with that post process volume. Pls help. Thank u :)

it wouldnt add an array for me , had to make sure the post process volume was enabled , the tick was a little farther down in the window from the array add spot , the post process volume itself you can drag and drop it from the modes pane , just search post process in the modes pane and drag it to the world , usually i put it up in the sky somewhere but it doesnt matter where as long as its actually enabled
