Today, I am going to add a new feature to the behavior tree based enemy AI I have build unreal engine 4. When the patroling enemy notice the player or another hostile NPC character, he will stop paroling and keep looking at the suspicious direction. There will be some time to fully fill the detection meter. once the detection meter is filled, AI character will equip the weapon and start chasing player. if the other character manage to hide and break the line of sight before the detection meter is filled, the AI character will resume the patrolling behavior in a while.
