August 2020 an update 4.0 was available to update this well made piece of bluetooth speaker. Still sounds the best, no doubt.
As always, the update made it even better! Or is it upgrade? You tell me.

Hei there it's same here, i just bought this flip 4 and update form 3.2.0 to 4.0.0 .. i think this version sounds great and get better ..

When I try to update mine it says that I have to charge it but when I put it to charge the Bluetooth deactivates I don’t know how to update it

I was reading that this update 4.0 had a bad sound and it is real. I did a reset factory and my Jbl Flip 4 sounds good again.

4.0 caused erratic battery reading. I charge it full. It takes like 2 hours (charger is 5v 1.5 amp). Then I listen to songs and in around an hour, the battery goes to one point (red) and it turns off. If I power up, it the battery shows 3 points again in an hour it goes to one point (red) and goes off. The cycle repeats and remember I'm not charging just restarting flip 4. I want to downgrade to 3.8 or 3.9. How can I do that?

you can't. Mine doesn't have the problems you talk about. i think your battery is shot.

MegaSafetyFirst i have to try that, but i think it has different hardware for the wireless, that means it will never work. And if it would work they would make a big announcement and the whole JBL world would go crazy!!!

Should I upgrade from 3.2 (8.8.8) to 4.0? Have you compared the indicators?

why jbl flip 4 is having charging problem, charging light didn't blink,.even if it does blink,no charge is there, i just bought new one for second time,same problem happend, why m i facing same problem again,dnt know what to do,can i charge on laptop or tv,please help

charging plug only,it dnt blink while charging,i dnt uderstand, or without blinking, charge is still working

Yea im having battery life issues...i just bought mines off Amazon yesterday and it keeps maybe an hour and a half battery at max volume and 4 to 5 at 75%...i tried the firmware update but it seems to be the same...
