@@HelloLetsGlow how long the color lasts?
@HelloLetsGlow
@HelloLetsGlow Год назад
Hi@@lulunadi7487! Henna is a permanent hair colour so the colour does last quite a long time on your hair - especially as you use the henna multiple times. I find that I do my hair about every 5-6 months and that it lasts great until the next time I dye it. The colour does fade over time, like any dye, but I've found that timeline works well for me. As you use the henna, the colour also builds and the vibrancy lasts longer.

@@HelloLetsGlow I've gone down a rabbit hole and ended up booking a zoom session with HennaSooq for guidance! I adore your colour but want to start off with a copper/ strawberry blonde and gradually get darker as autumn approaches. Question, if you wanted to lift to red to go lighter, can you & how would you? So excited to join the red head club this weekend when I do the colour!
@HelloLetsGlow
@HelloLetsGlow Год назад
@@skyediy6557 Oh, that's great! I haven't tried HennaSooq but I have heard good things. I actually did lift my hair a bit this summer because I wanted a lighter coppery red for the summer and it was very easy. I used Sunbabe to lighten my hair, but I think if you wanted a more predictable lightening option then I would say to go into a salon and gradually get it lightened. I just let my red fade a bit before I applied the sunbabe and it worked perfectly. In general, I have found it works the same with lightening from a dark color or chemical red dye -- it just has to be gradual and a bit of a slow process if you want to go back to blonde. I also recommend watching out for any metallic/mineral salts because that is where big issues can arise when going back to bleach or hair dyes. I hope that answers your question!
@skyediy6557
@skyediy6557 Год назад
@@HelloLetsGlow I've seen sunbabe adverts all over my Instagram but never trusted them until now & how great you've found something that works. Like you, I don't mind waiting a bit of time for a slower process if it looks as natural as your crowning red mane does 🦁🎀 . I think I'll make a henna video of my journey too so I can refer back and remember what I've used etc. I'm both excited and nervous to become a commited red head very soon. But I feel basic as a blonde so it's time 🥳

@@HelloLetsGlow henna update for you...I used light mountain colour red on balayage dark blonde roots with bleached blonde throughout & it went bright orange. Orange panic? Yes! 3 treatments later (within 3 days) & it's a bright fire red. I was going for your colour but I think I shouldve toned down my starting colour first..however as henna gets deeper with each application I'm going to do 2 more applications and see. Fun fact, I did strand tests using a blend of henna/coffee/beetroot and one with just henna and water and the one with just water came out a more vibrant red colour. Seems the coffee and beetroot didn't help one bit. I expected the opposite. Please keep making videos 👌😎

I think you have to warm your water the required temperature before mixing the powder, not apply boiling water directly to the powder.

@AnaGarcia-ld5lf
@AnaGarcia-ld5lf Год назад

Hi there, I boil the water and then let it cool for a few minutes before mixing it into the henna. I find it cools to the right temperature after about 5 minutes. I then mix up the henna and let it cool down quite a bit more before I apply it to my hair. I hope that helps!

I used to color my hair with henna and later henna and indigo mix for about 7 years, but when I decided that I’m tired of dark hair… I had to stop and grow it out - while still coloring new hair dark… to match the rest. It’s been 2 years since I stopped using henna and the quality of my hair is not great… I loved how soft and shiny my hair was thanks to henna… Now I’m tempted to go back, but I also want caramel highlights.

@@maddie5815 thanks 🫶 I think I know which one - the one with the swan on the packaging. The main ingredient in it is cassia - but is still binds with the hair shaft and when someone decided to go lighter later on - the results can be patchy.

You could mix it up with warm very thin runny flaxseed gel instead of water. For the henna I always used it never interfered with dye release. Also the dryness you might feel from henna I found using hair masks for a week or two fixed any dryness. For me I found any dryness from henna is fixable but not necessarily for chemical dyes. Also again you only need to use henna once then just keep doing your roots. You could always start with a henna gloss instead of full strength henna. Many videos on recipes but a simple one is to mix in a hair mask with the henna. The results will be less intense and not drying at all.

@strangedisappearance2292
@strangedisappearance2292 5 месяцев назад
@@HelloLetsGlow you said no metallic bowl only reason you’d avoid metal would be metallic salts so either you can use a metal bowl or you can’t because it contains metallic salts.
@HelloLetsGlow
@HelloLetsGlow 5 месяцев назад
Hi there, from what I’ve read - henna can stain metal bowls and spoons because it’s acidic, similar to how lemon juice can, so I don’t risk it. That’s why I recommend against it. I would feel very bad if people tried this henna out and destroyed their nice bowls! This is also just my personal recommendation, but if you feel comfortable trying henna in your metal bowls, then that is totally up to you!
