@@kevinsoon No, we don't have HW3. We still have AP 2.5 hardware. Elon stated just the other day that Model 3's started to get HW3 (AP4) just about 10 days ago. It doesn't matter though because if you have FSD, you will get the new chip with FSD when the time comes. :)

@@kevinsoon And as of now, I have heated seats, fog lamps and immersive sound. From my understanding, we will eventually lose fog lamps and immersive sound. But we will keep front heated seats and we do have navigation with traffic nav (the traffic just isn't shown on the screen).
@AZPoliceLawyer
@AZPoliceLawyer 5 лет назад
Right now you have all of the features of a Standard Range Plus - SR+ does not include the live traffic either (despite the confusing press release regarding the proposed software lock). Also, in SR+, there is route-based traffic (and that option shows up in the menu options) and Tesla has verified that, even though traffic doesn't show on the display, it will reroute based upon traffic conditions.

They have no plans to put cloth seats because for a $35.000 would be too basic. Any car for $35.000 has leather seats. Also, it's better for the production line with fewer options to choose from, so they have no time to put fewer hardware options on the Standard Range. Basically, they are manufacturing Standard Range Plus without think, and then when they have more time, block the options with an update. They need to go as fast as possible. In addition, it's an opportunity to convince the customer to upgrade to SR+ and pay $3.000 more because you will lose those options.

How is the power compared to the performance model in normal driving situations? It's easy to get caught up in the 0-60 times and think we all need the top of the line. As you have had both cars what's your thoughts? Do you miss the power the performance offered?
@marc_benton
@marc_benton 5 лет назад
As Elon says “Tesla doesn’t make slow cars”. 😬 It still feels very responsive... not as fast obviously but the P3D is other world fast. In every day driving, the P3D is overkill...but it sure is fun to watch people’s faces when you floor it.

@richardtravis5713
@richardtravis5713 5 лет назад
Sounds like you're confirming what had been rumored, that at least some SRs are shipping as SR+ right now and will be downgraded by software in the future. Not having a Tesla (yet), can you just not install their updates and basically keep driving it as an SR+? Or could bad things happen like losing Supercharger access? I wonder if maybe they'll back off even more on the restrictions, like maybe just having one level for heated seats instead of 3, small things. Also wonder if they'll let you buy a specific upgrade one piece at a time instead of an all-or-nothing approach. My guess is that they are moving more SRs now after it's "dead" than when it was listed on the website
@marc_benton
@marc_benton 5 лет назад
Richard Travis I don’t understand why they wouldn’t let us upgrade a little at a time... but I guess we will see.
@richardtravis5713
@richardtravis5713 5 лет назад
@@marc_benton Yeah I guess we will see, they seem to be winging it with this new SR/SR+ bracket. Aside from not stopping to change the production line, one advantage of disabling things on the SR model is that they can keep going back to the well for a few bucks for that extra feature or two on people who went the cheap route. That may be the only way to make money off a $35K electric car.

@Millahtime

Standard Plus doesn’t have live traffic on the maps because it has “partial premium” interior. However navigation still gets live traffic information and traffic rerouting, it just doesn’t visualize it on the display. Only the premium interior gets the live traffic view and internet streaming/web browser, which is currently only in the Performance or dual motor 3s.

Hey mark, quick question. About to pull the trigger on a SR+ but asked the dealer if I could "downgrade" to the "SR" and pay the $35k, they said yes. Since it is the same battery, just limited to a full charge by software, would it make sense to charge the SR model to 100% all the time? I know that people advise against charging to 100%, but in this case it would seem 100% on the SR model would really correspond to 80 or 90% of the true battery capacity for the car, that make sense?
@TheAhartig

Ok, reading more through these comments, I think I answered my question
@marc_benton
@marc_benton 5 лет назад
Alex Hartig yes, I plan on charging to 100% once (if) they do the software limit. I think buying the SR is a no brainer since it’s software locked and most wont charge their SR+ more than 90% anyway (216 miles).

I thought the front 2 seats are heated. Only the rear seats have no heat. When your car is locked to 220 miles you can charge to 100% all the time without damaging the battery over time. The top speed will also be limited buy 10 mph or 130 mph.
@marc_benton
@marc_benton 5 лет назад
Right now the front 2 seats are heated but the SR isn't supposed to included heated seats at all. I will for sure charge to 100% once the battery is locked at 220 miles. For now I'm charging to 90% until they figure it out. :) I don't care about top speed. My P3D top speed was 162mph and never used it... no one will and I don't care about bragging rights. lol

@marc_benton

teslamusk 101 well, that’s depends. The white is beautiful but you have to know what you’re getting into. If you don’t mind spending money to get the seats ceramic coated and then wipe them down every week or so then get the white.... like I said, they are great looking. But they do require more maintenance. I think they are also a little softer (the material feels softer). As far as comfort, they feel like the black seats IMO.
