Greetings!
Restore your posture and relieve tension in the neck & shoulders with this upper body yin yoga sequence. This sequence, will target the CHEST, NECK, SHOULDERS & BACK all while restoring your posture! The yummiest part of this class is just before savasana, where we really surrender, let go, and melt away any stresses.

What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is MAGIC. Well, that is how I would describe it. Yin yoga is a practice that that allows you to go beyond the superficial layers of the body and access the deeper layers. This means in a Yin Yoga practice you are going beyond the muscles and right into the deep connective tissues of the body. Our connective tissues are made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form our joints. Therefore, when you practice Yin Yoga you are able to increase your range of motion, your flexibility and strengthen your joints. A win win! If you ask me. Yin yoga is more than stretching, we are “stressing” the connective tissues and we do this with longer holds and intuitive breathing.
When practicing always remember
1. Meet the pose at YOUR edge (gradually)
2. Find stillness and focus on your breath
3. Resolve to be still

@@YogawithShaunneka It felt great indeed ! 🤩 But during the side wide leg pose I couldn’t fell any side stretch at all (I tried everything 😅), so I ended up doing the regular wide leg pose 😁

I’ve hardly slept for a couple weeks now due to back, shoulder, and neck pain. I did this before bed and I already know I am going to get an great nights sleep tonight. I’ve completed many yoga practices and there are some clever and creative poses in this one that really just hit all the sweet spots. Thank you so much 🙏🏽

I’ve been contemplating this seq for three weeks, wondering if it was too hard for my shoulders - and it was!!! But somehow it has made me feel so much lighter and cheerier and I feel a weight lifted off my shoulders - a pun, I know, but no less true. Plus I finally got to use my eye pillow and had no idea the video had ended ❤️ Thank you, Shaunneka! Legendary as always
