I'll show you a chiropractic adjustment, dry needling, and corrective exercises (along with some ancillary therapies) for upper thoracic pain. Upper thoracic pain is one of the most common complaints at a chiropractic office. You may have neck (cervical) pain, lower back (lumbar) pain, headaches, and conditions of the shoulder associated with your upper back pain. A trial of chiropractic care is excellent for getting you back to feeling pain-free and active again. I almost always recommend conservative care, like chiropractic care or PT, for these types of complaints before more invasive medical procedures like shots and surgery although they do have their place, depending on the case.
In the video, you'll see some pre-manipulation therapy, a thoracic chiropractic manipulation/adjustment, dry needling to the upper trapezius muscles, and exercises for upper back pain. These are all things you might encounter when you visit chiropractic or PT offices for a similar complaint. It is important to note that every practitioner is unique, and every case is unique, so your upper thoracic pain may be treated a bit differently should you seek out care near you.
