Hi Dave , I've only recently found your blog's, and must say they are very informative and and we'll presented . I was a driver for 30 years and my first truck was a Leyland Mandator pulling containers out of Dublin port.. No such things as power steering or automatic gearboxes. I then got myself a Mercedes 1632. which was a joy to drive and very reliable. I move onto Scania 141 with a double deck livestock and stuck with them. I admire you for your attention to detail on paperwork and records etc. You should be praised for how well you keep your truck. Stands out and looks the part. I'd just like to say to you that you seem to be doing so much at the same time and worrying over blog's and such. Pay as much attention to yourself as you do your business. Don't mind having a bad week and losing money. Your health is your wealth. Stress is a big part of the job. Beware my friend. Dave please wear your belt you betray yourself to be a good driver and professional, lead by example. If you get in trouble for it you have yourself to blame . Pure laziness and so unprofessional. Wouldn’t let you carry anything for my business if you can’t even wear a belt.
Heads up, my uncle drove for the Petronas team and he said you do quite a lot of work once you get to the track. Such as cooking, setting up the pit lane, the team area etc.
Great vids, great knowledge. Any idea, how to get my first class 1 JOB, I also have ADR. Tried alot of company's and agencies with no joy. Where have the 50000 HGV jobs gone that they were going on about.
