Complete hunch here. I reason that the breathing portion of Wim Hof method promotes mitophagy. Why? I cured afib with the method. Afib is related to mitochondrial dysfunction. Upon first beginning, or resuming the method after a long break, oxygen saturation does not max at 99% on a pulse oximeter. It takes time to work up to that. My hunch is that healthier mitochondria are selected and grown during that time, while less fit mitochondria are eliminated. I am so much healthier now with just this and time restricted eating. It is a night and day difference. Thanks for all you do.
I think art of the key is fasting most people dont understand the power of what happens but I have fasted a lot and there are hacks these days to make it even easier mainly Bullet proof coffee or tea with MCT oil or butter n salt. It doesnt sound appetizing but its purpose is to knock down ur grehlin or hunger hormone n it does that quite well to enable to put your body in a fastive state without too much uncomfort say to skip a meal like breakfast n wait for say noon or later for your first meal of the day. So its like a training plan for fasting which will becomes easier and easier over time for those who've never tried it. to try and get their body into ketosis when their insulin level drops and their body starts getting energy from fats stored inside their body verse something they eat like carbs or sugars, Believe me its a strange feeling almost like spiritual cuz your no longer hungry or craving food yet you have plenty of energy. Who says you can't buy health! I take a handfull of supplements in the morning and a handfull in the evening. If I keep watching these RU-vid videos, I'm going have to take a loan out!
Pronunciation: u ro ‘li thin What specifically is converted to Urolithin A? Ellagic acid?ellagitannins? (And if so, which?) Which bacteria do the conversion? Because you stated in your video, Urolithin A is produced in the gut from certain compounds by certain bacteria. How can you know this to be the case? Where was the conversion observed? Gut production of Urolithin A is hand waved. What’s the maximum safe level of Urolithin A to intake? What happens with over supplementation, such as for people who produce Urolithin A, and also supplement it? Is the excess useless or harmful? You said Urolithin A also “blunts inflammatory responses“. Does it? Or is that an effect of increased mitochondrial functioning, reducing the deleterious effects of ROS? Or is it an effect of removing damaged mitochondria which are known to produce inflammation?
Thanks again, Lance. indeed very expensive substance so hopefully it will become cheaper in the future. Definately one to keep in memory. Since this topic interrests me a lot, I Wondered: Are you planning on talking about 'telomere lengthening oxygen therapy' some time?
What do you think about PQQ supplementation? There are studies that claim to increase the number of mitochondria with PQQ among many other benefits. Do you recommend PQQ?
I've been taking urolithin A for about 6-7 months and have seen significant gains in strength but where this really shines with me is endurance. The improved endurance is very clear. (Shocking actually) It is quite expensive though. 46yo male, works out 3 to 4 times a week. (ish lol)
@@georgeikinya2779 I started taking it for improved endurance. I noticed an improvement fairly quick (2 weeks ish) but thought it had to be placebo. After 6 months it still remains.
Terminalia chebula is a tree that also has urolitin A. Ayurveda in Haritaki Powder.Myrobalanen,Haritaki as part of Triphala ... Thank Lamce for you good Info ... Wounderful
In the first days of taking Urolythin A, endurance increased. HOWEVER! After a week's (500-900 mg per day) - I felt my physical strength gradually decrease... I am 52 years old, and usually I actively train 4-5 times a week (strength exercises or cardio) and have always been happy to strive for training. But then, after Urolithin - the desire to train - disappeared! And after 3 weeks - there was not only physical fatigue, but also mental passivity... Urolithin stopped taking. Maybe my experiment is too short... I usually recover quickly after a workout... and such a long fatigue was unbearable... Therefore, I decided to end Urolitin for now. It's been 2 weeks - but the old strength, the old desire to train - still haven't returned! So all supplements that cause MITOPHAGY are probably suitable for people who are very adult and not engaged in sports... Maybe it's just me who has this reaction. (Urolithin A was taken in parallel with the use of PTEROSTILBENE and NMN)
Maybe it's the mix of these 3 suppléments the problem? To recover liposomal vitamine c &B12, régulatpro bio, shilajit,Immun'Age,Moléculaire Hydrogène could help?Best regards.
I would like to know the differences between those supplementing with Urolithin A, and those adopting a rigorous program of exercise, in terms of mitochondrial health and functioning. My guess would be that exercise may be more effective than taking this pill, a lot less expensive, much more readily available, and would have many other benefits to health beyond mitochondrial function.
How about pomegranate extract to avoid the sugars? I actually have some. Also blueberry extract. That doesn’t address the conversion issues but I assume the precursors would be there.
Thanks Lance for another interesting video. Based on your presentation, urolithin A looks interesting but the results don’t seem strong enough to justify a big expenditure. Personally I plan to keep up the NO release exercises to improve/maintain mitochondrial health, and rely on fasting and other supplements for senolysis. Cheers!
It’s just 7 days and the outbreaks are well treated and unseen. Thank you so much Dr. Aloha #Autism #Cancer #Herpes for curing my HSV 1&2 completely. 🌱🍵ru-vid.com/show-UC_YFEEZEr1BxGkNg1d4vqww 💝 📌
Thanks for the information Lance. Just as an FYI, around 8 min in your say 500 grams rather than 500 mg, which is the daily dose provided by the Time Line supplement. I’ve started taking it and it is very expensive. I’m only a few weeks in and will be very interested to see if I pick up some strength in my workouts after a couple of months. Thanks again, as always, for your great information.
@@QuantumOfSolace1 The problem with drinking pomegranate juice is not necessarily the amount of sugar, but the inability to know if it will be effective. What is the tannin content in the pomegranate juice? And what is one’s individual ability to convert those tannins into Urolithin A? If 40% of the general population are converters, the odds aren’t in your favor for drinking pomegranate juice to have any effect on Urolithin A levels.
Never heard of it before, Lance. You have great videos. I would like to see some graphs in this one, though, instead of just showing the studies. But in this case it wouldn't have mattered anyway, and I am even wondering a bit about why you bothered to make this video. But thanks, anyway.
Hi Lace. Thanks for the information and interesting topics. I just joined your channel. Since you implement what you've learned and studied may I ask how old are you ?
I just left an excellent presentation by 2 DR/scientists who are using this product and highly recommend it So I am on a quest to learn as much about it as possible Both of them were very positive about it and said they use it themselves That is a pretty great recommendation
Lance - it has been a while since you uploaded the video, so you probably won't this post ... Just wondering if you had seen any results from taking urolothin-A (Mitopure). I recently came across a study on pomegranate juice - which most likely contains the substance that converts to Urolothin-A. The study showed significant improvements in exercise performance from those who took pomegranate juice. My guess is that the improvements are were to urolothin-A. Also, what the study indicates to me is that pomegranate extract may work as just as well as Mitopure - if you are a lean individual. It is certainly much less expensive than Mitopure.
First off, I can't afford Mitopure, so I haven't taken it. Just reporting on the science. I have taken a lot of pomegranate juice, but I take so many supplements that it's really hard to pin down what effect was caused by what supplement. All I know is, I feel like I'm getting great results, overall, from everything I do.
Lance do you abide by the school of thought that you crave what your body needs? I craved salmon for yrs once I started taking dha/epa the craving waned? So the fruit I prefer or like to eat is mixed berry, blue berry raspberry strawberry blackberry. Your thoughts? with regards to increasing my urolithin A.
Your body....and whatever other creatures or viruses are in you. Viruses always scream for sugar. When you get a cold, it is best to ignore that message and hit the chicken soup. There are also a few addictive foods. There is a substance in cheese, for example. I think the companies that make cheese puffs and such take advantage of this and add more of it. "Cheese contains casein, a dairy protein that releases casomorphins, which are plant compounds that trigger dopamine production in your brain." And very toxic Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs) are addictive substances made in the Maillard browning reaction. This was probably a survival thing from times of old when you were better off eating meat that was fully cooked rather than potentially getting something that will give you parasites. Those AGEs can kill you as they accumulate, just later in your 60s, 70s or 80s by hardening your tissues and causing inflammation. Bodies are also about habit. If you meet needs in the same ways, and it works, your body will remember. But as you pointed out. If the needs are met with something else, that craving may not happen much, after a time.
I wonder if you have to take this kind of supplement daily. It seems to me that, if it works, intermittent use would work just as well. Although, that way of using it might be too complicated for the researchers. So I doubt we will get that kind of result from them, Mitophagy, and anything improving the mitocondria, is very interesting. I belive that's one of the big things in aging.
Anything that claims to cause mitophagy has to prove it can distinguish old vs new mitochondria . Fatigue is a known side effect of this product which is likely caused by destroyed mitochondria. I could not tolerate it. I would avoid it. Ira Goodman MD

Apparently, this only happens to a small percentage of the population butt I am back to normal now. If you get a brain boost from nad+ boosters mitopure may not be for you.it's vary addictive
Sure sounds like you got the jabbaroo. Your voice sounds sick! This is happening to so many people since 2020. Look into protocols that involves augmented NAC, Natttokinace and bromoline.
2 seconds in, I see you have trapped yourself in a corner. Are you pushing the desks around, or climbing over/under them? :) I suppose it is exercise, maybe even HIIT exercise.
Yea will skip it that would double my anti aging supplements for a month supply. Rather spend that on mot c and 5 amino which I plan on adding to mitochondrial stack sometime this year.
The carb issue is rubbish. Look at the associations in methylation in the GrimAge methylation clock data. More carbs means a longer life. More fat means a shorter life. Protein makes little difference. The anti-high fructose corn syrup craze is also bunk. It was not the cause of the obesity epidemic. If it were, obesity would have gone down from 2000 to 2019, because we went from eating 62.5 lb to 36.7 lb of the stuff. But that is not what happened, obesity climbed dramatically in that time. 21.8% to 31.3% (self-reported. People exaggerate their height and take a few pounds off their weight when surveyed. But they likely lied as much in 2000 as 2019. When people are actually measured, there is around 10% more that are obese). The actual cause? Likely it is the unabated spread of Adenoviruses 5, 36, and 37. That really took off in the 1980s. When animals are infected with these, they also become obese.
