This company making the important Urolithin A product are like the pharmaceutical industry. Making the cost of the supplement too expensive. Making it difficult for those who are not financially stable to afford it. Great to know it is not possible for those who could not purchase it.
I looked into this as well, and how ridiculous! You would think that after you have worked out your production Kinks, and you've settled on the formula, you can find a way to make it cheaper but of course they're just leaving it for the higher income folks. Tried to order some to Canada, and the shipping was more than the item, making it more unappealing unfortunately .
Really interesting discussion. I have been doing calorie restriction and intermittent fasting for the last 9 months and have lost 25 pounds and I have never felt better. I have a comment about trekking poles. I live in a very hilly community and have been walking up and down hills for 30 years. Last year I started using trekking poles, not for balance, but because it used my upper body and arms more than just walking. I am 77 and attribute a lot of my good health, leg strength, no aches or pains, to walking up and down hills. I listen to Dr Gundry's audio books everyday on my walks. I can probably quote a lot of things verbatim. I am a believer. Thank you Dr Gundry for your continuing research and sharing what you learn.
A thumbs down due to its skyrocketed price. In this economy? No way Josea. You Doctors make tons of money, make it a little cheaper for us to afford please.
Yes, it is expensive, but how much do you think it would cost going the regular medical establishment route? A drug company would alter this in an insignificant way, patent it, and charge many, many times more for it. If it works, it is comparatively cheap.
I'm just going to eat the pomegranate straight with the seeds like I've been doing, and the juice in organic. Eat other healthy fruits and veggies, exercise, and drink spring water.

I became aware of pomegranate as a health food after reading that the pomegranate was depicted on the sacred garments of the priests in the Jewish temple
It’s way overpriced and too expensive for a single supplement - and the not so good fillers ingredients included within it don’t appeal. I’ll stick with walnuts, raspberries and pomegranates, can buy a lot of these real healthy foods each month for much less money than a pill.
When is the best time to injest the Mitopure capsules? With food, without? Are there foods/drinks which will negatively effect the production U-A in the stomach?
Hopefully your body can reap the benefits of these foods. There is evidence that plenty of us cannot due to intermittent antibiotic use throughout the decades.
How much Urolithin A makes it to your intestines through and after the stomach acid? Would be a shame to waste this expensive supplement if a lot of it doesn't get utilized by your body.
I think you are wonderful Dr Gundry. Thank you so much for bringing all of this wonderful information to us so we can live better, healthier lives. I would like to add that the trekking poles used by the Europeans may be for descending better but what they really do is provide that person with a better, all over workout. This is why they use the poles. When I used them my arms and shoulders and back were all engaged as with my legs. Using the poles is hard work. If they provide a benefit when coming down, great. Take care.
@@kevinstarski1598why do you say that? You obviously have no idea. Dr Gundry cured me of RA . If you don’t have the will power to give up your pizza then you should keep your opinions to yourself
I have an ocean-front property in Montana I would like Dr. Gundry to sell. He can and does $ell just about anything. What is his latest discovery that we need to buy to be healthy??
But but it's precursor comes from fruit and plants that carnivores say don't want us eating them... there 's a reason they're here. Cows don't eat pomegranates . By the way yellow raspberries have the most ellagic acid by far, pomegranate juice second. However your gut microflora must be in balance to make the conversion. I'm sure they will say the supplement is healthier.
My biggest reason for the occasional use of HMB and one not touched on here is Luecine spikes the blood sugar and HMB doesn't hardly move the needle on the glucose scale. Dissapointing that they didn't know any better. That being said, the protien and creatine uptake might be better with a slight glucose spike. I guess it might come down to what your goals are.
I take urolithin-A. But you guys have brought up the fact that in order to produce it in your guts, you need to have the correct microbiome. So, the question is does ingesting it get through the gut if the microbiome does not have the "right stuff"?
Yes it gets through because it's pre-formed. It's a postbiotic so it by-passes any potential gut limiting factors such as microbiome. What's more, your urolithin a making gut bacteria will increase naturally by taking this compound....so that is a bonus.
Great information, thank you! I'm wondering if someone makes Urolithin A naturally, will supplementing tell his body to stop because there's no need to work as hard?
Dr Gundry, thank you, this is excellent information, as is mostly everything you present, and following the interview I immediately looked it up to purchase some, however, the cost is prohibitive to me, so unfortunately a no go, but once again I thank you, because your intent is to put the information out there. I am fit and strong and well into my 70's but I would love some information on boosting the immune system, particularly re skin cancer - too much sun bathing many years ago!!! From Patricia H. not William H.
I can't eat: bananas, avocados, & tomatoes. I looked it up & it said: I was allergic to latex...... When I eat bananas I get sick to my stomach. Same with avocados. When I eat. Tomatoes I get bumps on side of tongue and my tongue swells up!!!!!. I stopped eating those 3 . A month ago, I bought a few bananas. Same thing happened....... That was enough for me...... Don't eat them 3 anymore..... I told my Dr. At the time. She said: she had the same problem..... I told her that I looked it up. ( Latex problem.) I'm not a Dr. But. 🙃
If a person had Cancer is it ok to take this product ? or will it confuse the dormant or affected CA cells ? I mean will the Cancer cells wake up and reproduce ?
A thumbs down due to its skyrocketed price. In this economy? No way Josea. You Doctors make tons of money, make it a little cheaper for us to afford please.
Is there some basis of certainty to label a compound urolithin a? It sounds like a bladder or kidney stone, "lith" meaning "stone." Any takers for this ? Seems as if the Bulgarians would have known this and using it as of 1983.
❤🎉❤ good information, pemograte is very good don't blender and drink, to my experience my children prefer to bite the seed and swallow together with the juice ❤
Go to Google Scholar and read the studies. He says most people can't convert ellagic acid to urolithin, but several studies I'm reading say that 70% produce uroluthin A, 20% produce urolithin A and B, and 10% don't produce any. So either this guy is dishonest, or looking at other studies. Just drink pomegranate juice and eat walnuts
I am taking NAC for Covid Vax induced COPD & Heart palpitations... But, I would still do the exercises like walking, hiking, bicycling, sex etc as prescribed by your doctor, & not rely on a pill to improve health...
I gave my Mom creatine pyruvate sold by Max Muscle since I am a bodybuilder. She was in the hospital, and her cardiologist said to tell her goodbye. He said she is dying anyway, so OK to give her that supplement. Overnight her ejection fraction returned to normal. He wrote down everything to help his patients (back when docs were not killing elders). Mom lived for decades longer and finally passed at 96 due to medical malpractice.
@@calista1280 I'm currently researching because I heard from someone with Long Haul that the Urolithin A helps quite a bit with their fatigue. 3 years on this is one of my biggest remaining symptoms. I believe I have POTS, mitochondria issues, and myocarditis. I've taken many supplements that improved my symptoms but the fatigue has lingered, and exercise is very difficult with POTS. I'm thinking the Urolithin couldn't hurt. Thoughts?
For guys that took it, what was the taste of the powder? I got some cheap Urolithin A from China (35$ for 100g) and it tastes kinda like Furacin/Nitrofurazone which is also yellow. So now I'm thinking was it fake or not
I would not trust anything like that from CHINA.I ordered mushroom supplements and it was SOLID RICE HULLS.I opened them up and looked.Someone told me that right after i ordered. They were right.they were also cheaper.i was hoping it would be mushrooms but it wasnt. .
Dr. Gundry -- For all of your strict way of eating, you look like you've put on a lot of weight. Hmm? How can that be if you're not eating the Western Diet?
The raw material fermented promogrante skin is only chinese yuan 120 or 55 us dollar per 100 gram yet thos company sells a few tabler for few hundred dollars , imperialism
BEFORE I listen to this entry? I posit the question...WHY would someone, age 76 years, wish to live longer? . . . in this current world of wars, strife, hunger, murders, poisoned food products (Roundup), pandemics, etc...after living through assassinations, bombings, terrorist attacks, gun violence, and ongoing political deceptions? .... I personally? do NOT wish for 'longevity'!!! and certainly will not expend my limited financial resources (SS) to foster this supplement. I HAVE purchased and taken your product (Total Restore & Lectin Shield) with no noticeable improvement in my post-covid episode (4/23). I also purchased your book - The Plant Paradox . . . interesting theories, but now being challenged and refuted by others...."Dr Gundry"? go back to heart surgery!!! where you might do more good...sigh.
I am suffering from ling Covid too. Going lectin free helps a lot . It takes time to see results . Not that I am recovered but it helps . Even low histamine diet helps
