So, in This Alternative Reality, USA was German Colony, fought against n*zis in the civil war, later resisted invasion by England in what was the frist world war, Helped Germany and Poland as an Colony to fight vietnan(still lost) as the colony lost it's balance, Japan atacked for no reason, and indtead of waging war, Germany gave it's colony to a Neutral Country, Korea, which gave independence to them 15 years later. Yeah, sounds like a cool Alternative History.
@demonxx7799 - I’ve just returned from holiday where I visited a house built way,way before either Christopher Columbus’s or Vasco de Gamas’s great, great, grandparents were born
As a German, I must say, that this is 100% accurate, but I think we should get more recognition for winning the American civil war and stopping the Nazis in the same process.
No you didnt, the Korea took the chance to invade the US when Japan bombed Pearl Harbour back in the 80s. My grandfather and my father were part of the Resistance and they took our land back to us.
@@kleanovodust-bin69 Its funny because North korea was 10x more industrialized than the south, but because of the communists, they ran it to the ground. Now, South korea is litteral utopia in comparison I live in the US, and honestly bro Korea is such a nice country. Its funny cus every country the US helped after a war, basically became better than the US. German, Japan, and Korea lol.
"The Nazis fought against Germany" I cannot believe it...I cannot...believe it. Edit: Yes, you are all correct. I am aware of the defectors, resistance fighters etc. I know of the Valkery Operation and the Battle of Castle Itter. My point is that the girl in question doesnt know these facts, not only that she doesnt even know the very basic fact that the germans were the nazis, which is a level of ignorance that led me to writing this comment. Stay humble learn as much as you can and you will not end up like her and we will not repeat histories mistakes, because only the dumb, ignorant and weak fall for it.
Well, it was kind of true at some point. Shortly before the war ended, german troops who weren't accepting fighting for the third reich anymore, asked an allied army for assistance at a castle, protecting the french people in there from the Nazis.
id rather say it would be dumbledore in the harry potter universe. because germanies main enemy was udssr and poland was just a stick laying in the way which they broke easily. like poland, dumbledore is just a burden for voldemort to get to harry, his main enemy

As a Pole I still believe that we should not have withdrawn from Vietnam. It was that close! Now we are trapped in Europe with nowhere to go during winter.
In Poland we still celebrate our great victory against Korean Empire in Vietnam. I am deeply grateful to our German allies who stood with us until the final victory. Not many people understand that our ancestors's heroic deeds managed to weaken Korea enough to make American independence possible.

didn't Poland start murdering, raping and pillaging Germans living on its border countryside right before WW2. Hitler asked for peace but was denied and Poland kept killing Germans, forcing Hitler to retaliate.
That is complete bullshit. It's a Russian propaganda talking point. Poland didn't not "invade Czechoslovakia together with the Germans" what utter nonsense.
@@OogaBooga-tq7jc You got them all wrong. Nazi Germany and Poland were never allied, what you are talking about is the non-aggresion pact, an international treaty that was created so that two would put an end to their conflict. In reality it was used by Hitler just as further evidence of his eagerness for peace. You are talking about the 1938 annexation, where Germany and Poland didnt invade Czechoslovakia "together".
@@teodorul9280 Poland saw that Czechoslovakia (My country) was defenseless (Thanks to Germany) and invaded and stole our land. This can definitely be viewed as helping Germany therefore being allied. It didn't go well for them and they got karma pretty soon for it.
To be fair a great many of you actually did. What's really weird is how on the other hand a great many Jews fought for the Nazis. Arabs too, they even had an elite Arab paratrooper division defending Berlin to the end. That´s what i love about history, there are so many details no human could possible know it all even if he read a lifetime.
I'm Polish. My grandfather told me stories about how during World War II his Polish-German unit was attacked by the Japanese in Pearl Harbor, Vietnam ... fortunately American helicopters came to the rescue with a Panther II tank brigade and his unit won the battle
I am a New Zealander, who is also majoring in history, as well as did a course on the American Century for my 2nd semester, and as President Bill Clinton once said, "I feel your pain."
It would be sad if Americans think that when the UK and the US haven't been at war with each other since the revolution, and have actually been allies.
@@Zaire82 Even after the wars UK and the US had a ok relationship The US still relied on the UK for trade and the UK at least trusted the US not to start shit
The first Americans to fight in WW2 fought for Germany, which is hardly surprising considering America had already been supplying Germany with a lot of its military vehicles starting from the 1930s.
However, even smart Americans are sure that “the USA saved the world from Nazism.” Although by the time the United States entered the war, the USSR had already liberated all of its territory and was rushing to Berlin. Remember that the United States entered the war only when it sensed a division of the pie!
I mean, but it was KIND OF a possibility, right? Heard of Ribbentrop-Beck Pack? There's even a book about what would have happened if such a pact actually came to reality.
So Germany got its ass whooped by Korea who then snatched the German American 13 colonies away, but later lost control over the colony in the 1995 Vietnam War and were compelled to admit independence. How did Korea beat the German-Polish alliance though? Gives Boston Tea Party a new meaning as well.
My great grand father was there when they fought the no-no Germans and the Polish in Vietnam. He tells me stories of how bad the situation was when the Germans launched Operation Barbarossa and took over Liechtenstein, everyone was desperate. Thankfully when the Japanese invented the Atomic Bomb and threw it on Warsaw and Berlin the war ended. Such a relief that was, sadly the relations started souring when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in the 80s with their Bombs. Everyone was shocked when out of nowhere the Koreans took over the Japanese and invaded the US. My father was part of the Resistance and he died an hero. I thankfully lived a nice life, since I was born in 1996 when we already had gotten our independence back. This century was really strange, hopefully nothing like this will ever happen again, let's pay our respects to the heroes that fought for our country!
I bet they know, it's just that this information is usually buried deep inside one's head since it's given in school, and they just need to take their time and get this knowlege out. But when some random questions you in the street most people anwser as quickly as possible without thinking and weird nonsense comes out. We have videos like that in Russia, and randoms on the streets also say weird nonsense, even though they most likely know the correct anwser, because it's literally in the school programm.
@@adramalihk3307 Yeah maybe, but in that situation, I would answer most of them correctly. I expect most people to do that as well. Some people are just bad at history.
As a person who tried to convince Koreans in 1995 to let the United States be an independent country I must say I had to learn Korean for over 244 years to finally state my intention and I'm sure this is fact checked information. Also I'm glad to say I fought for Germany against the Nazis in our heartbreaking American civil war
@@mastere6115 The problem with the editing is that you can just link answers to different questions. The answers you see people give, could be answers to a totally unrelated question. And they most likely are when there is made a cut. Otherwise there would be no need for a cut. That doesn't mean they all gave the right answers, but some of the most ridiculous ones are just made up.
Its scary to see how few people actually know about such important historic occurrences. This is the reason these past mistakes are doomed to repeat themselves.

nah the ignorance is the minority its judt that theyve gathered specifically the idiotic answers to make this video but dont take it as an actual statistic for how many people in the USA actually know history.
The thing about these videos is, they're almost always either cherry-picked worst answers across hundreds of people asked, or they literally just edit someone's response to another question, so they could ask for instance, who founded America, and then ask which president was assassinated in 1960, and then stitch the film of the first question and the answer to the second question together to make the person look like an idiot, this is why I don't engage with people confronting me in public
@@hellomypeople9070 People in other countries do not approach strangers with the intent of making them appear uninformed by cutting and stitching clips together. When it comes to geographical knowledge, Europeans might have a slightly higher likelihood (around 5%) of correctly identifying or naming countries, particularly those within their own continent. This phenomenon can be partly attributed to the proximity and smaller size of European countries compared to the vast and diverse states of America. However, it's important to note that general knowledge of geography can vary widely, and many Europeans also face challenges in accurately identifying regions outside their own continent, such as countries in Africa.
My Grandpa enlisted when WWI began. He was there when George Washington crossed the Delaware into England. After being killed by a gas attack, he fought in the Vietnam War in WWII. He crashed his Huey into a Polish Tiger tank, but survived. He got redeployed in '51 just before the war ended. And then the civil war began in 2002, shortly after the American Revolution, which started in 1995. My grandpa fought for the Germans in the civil war. He was actually led into battle by Kennedy himself. Unfortunately, he died while marching into Virginia, at a battle called D-Day. A droid gunship destroyed his whole platoon. Rest in Peace Grandpa.
As a German I die too. A very good example of human history tho, is that, if you‘d go back a couple hundred years before 1914 our countries would have been strong allies. I mean… Vienna ? The Winged Hussars and HRE joining up ? And then skip forth and it‘s deserved hatred from your end for the fuckery we did, a couple decades further and we are allies again. Even export our tanks to you guys instead of using them against the very people that actually formed Prussia in the first place more or less. Humans are just strange af sometimes. Not even mentioning the France thing that‘s even more dumb.
@@bananabread2137 i am aware yes xD I sorta drifted away into my perception of how dumb human conflict is and hoe that even gets worse if you look at it over time. That doesn‘t make any war better ofc. I guess my point is that no matter how bad human cultures treat each other most of the time you can either go back a while or look at where they are now and see that there is always some common ground we should use to build bridges instead of bombing them you know ? I for one deeply respect all our neighbors and while I would bever even try to act as if germany never fucked up, we have also done a lot of good things over the centuries and many of those were with all our brother nations around us.
