Do you narrow your legs bc the other arm is occupied with gripping the lapel? Usually from the snatch single I frame around the thigh w 2 arms, drive the head forward to the sternum arm pit ish direction, pivot and drive. I watched it on the wrestling university channel. Also, from a white belt to a black belt, thank-you for the content. Its awesome.
BJJ uses Judo and calls it BJJ. BJJ with a gi is Judo to me. I was a Sankyo in Judo which is a low brown belt. Basically equivalent to a BJJ Purple belt. I did very well basically trashed everyone at Ricksons school in 1994. But now I am into NoGi BJJ, No Gi Judo throws 6 that I am expert at. But why? If I use Boxing with Brass Knuckles I will win 97% of all street fights. There was a BJJ Purple Belt who was beating a guy in a fight and took him to the ground. BJJ guy got Stabbed and died. Moral of story? No Rules In Street. Be sure that if you get in a Street Fight YOU can KILL your enemy and NOT go to prison. Which means try to AVOID the fight. If you are in a self defense situation and your ENEMY DIES. Only an ahole wants to hurt someone. Anyway manslaughter accidentally killing someone will send you to prison. So be in the right if you must fight.
@@TrephiningThe issue is that it is not an easy throw at all. But I think he was just showing one of his favorite takedowns, the easy one for beginners being the single leg that he showed right before drop seoi nage.
And what if he is punching you in the face while do are doing this. Most people can't take much of a punch. That's why striking and grappling should not be separated for self defence. Do, judo, bjj and any striking Marshal art and you will have a good all round appreciation of how you can lose your next real fight.
Yeah… I started doing jui jitsu a little while ago after wrestling for a very long time and I just don’t understand the take downs they teach, any good wrestler is gonna slam your face into the mat. I’m trying to break my wrestling habits but I know what works and doesn’t work after having hundreds of matches in my career. But I guess the theory in jui jitsu for take downs is avoiding strikes and preserving energy
Putting the leg between your legs is a huge mistake. It leaves you open for the scissor sweep. Idgaf about Jiujitsu tournament rules as I only indulge in martial arts for street self defense and in the streets anything goes and doing that is asking for your knee to get blown out by a scissor sweep.
People searching for that kind of knowledge need to search for terms like street fight, self-defense, etc. There are a ton of videos on RU-vid directed at sport BJJ participants, and almost every single video has some guy commenting “this wouldn’t work in a street fight” on it.
