Good luck with the board, man. I have the Boosted Plus. It took me a little bit to get comfortable with going beyond eco mode as well. Be careful with the bumps, potholes, rocks, etc. I live in an area with some rough roads too. Keep in mind that potholes will grow over time. I had a pretty bad fall a few months ago because I hit a pothole pretty hard that used to be easier to go over, but it had gotten bigger from cars and weather conditions. With rougher roads, your belts will take more damage than usual. So, you will need to change them slightly more frequently, but it's no biggie. With not being able to turn sharply, that's just something you kinda have to get used to, but once you feel more comfortable, you can try loosening the front truck a quarter turn. If you haven't already, check out the boosted subreddit (r/boosted). There's a lot of good tips, helpful people, and info on group rides. Stay safe out there!

I’m looking into a v1 boosted board in good condition with about 400 miles. He wants $400 but it’s out of warranty and I don’t want it to be a money pit. Is it a good idea?

No! As boosted are no longer support V1, at minimum you need to e looking at V2

This isn’t a v1. This is a V2 dual plus standard range. Pause at 4:49. In the app above the board you can see that it says V2. The motor cables are also indicative that it’s a V2.

Good catch, shows how well I pay attention to detail haha. It was listed on eBay as a V1, but I did not notice the app indicates V2. I may have gotten an even better deal than I thought!
