A better way to build in badwater is to build platforms on top of the gears, beavers can walk on the platforms (thus away from badwater) and do their job. Also, the location of decontamination pods were not ideal. Beavers undergoing decontamination still need to eat, drink and sleep, so the pods should be built near houses and storages, which saves the time of the beavers moving around. PS. After setting up a new forest, Matt still forgot to plant trees on mountain top and didn't understand why the forester was not working. Classic Matt.

hay mat, the replant dead trees not marked for cutting option is mainly for stuff like pine where you ant pine resin, but don't want to cut don't he tree etc, otherwise you might as well just tell them to plant whatever trees you want like normal, or tell them to delete dead trees if you don't need them etc

11:54 You can just build platforms over the badwater and then from those platforms, you can safely build the shafts. Recovering the beavers from the badwater exposure takes forever, and it also requires 1) extract, 2) recovery pods, 3) energy. And 1 and 2 also need science points to unlock them.

When you put storage for the necessary material next to the construction site(s) the haulers can keep that filled and your builder are more productive. - For example with the power shafts all your builders constantly have to run back to the centre to get supplies.

The forester option to replant dead trees not marked for cutting is there in case your pine resin trees or fruit trees dry out and need to be replanted. If you're planning to lumberjack them, you need to mark out the planting area and mark them for cutting.

I've had a tour of Hoover Dam and they assured us that no one is buried in the dam itself - they only laid down 18 inches of concrete at a time, so it would be very difficult to conceal a body inside. What *did* happen is that when someone died, all of his coworkers would testify that he died on whichever side of the dam was in the state with the best death benefits for his family.

Build platforms over the Badwater to prevent your beavers from getting contaminated, don't bother with the decontamination pods, they go through your resources fast, and take a lifetime to heal 1 beaver. Plus, the decontamination pods also drain energy that can be used for more important things.

suggestion: instead of having your beavers walk through contaminated water to build underwater powershafts, why not build platforms along the ways and put the shaft ontop? sure it would cost extra logs and planks to build, but your beavers won't have to touch the bad water at all. and another suggestion as alternative for the very expensive bad water discharge valve, or whatever the actual name is, to guarantee power supply, why not build windmills and gravity batteries? the batteries will store enough power to last you through any wind shortage and the windmills are unmanned and will generate power even through the night, to refill the batteries while your hard working beavers sleep. if you have excess battery capacity, a lack of power generation just build a tower in a high spot, for example near the exercise plaza, and put the batteries ontop, then build the powershafts where the stair are, from the top down, and once you reached ground level all you need to do is build windmills and shafts along the path to your production areas. or as alternative or in conjunction to the tower idea, use explosives to dig a deep pit and get your height difference that way. thankfully beavers can build downwards no matter the height difference, so even a 10-deep pit is easy to build.

Boy am I glad I watched at work so I had my hard hat handy! Since beavers can build vertically down with no limit, you could also provide a path of platforms next to the shafts in the badwater lake and have the beavers complete the work from above the water

A few scaffolds and vertical buildings could go long way to cut pathing time. You have all those nice hills to build next to and even taller dams. Planks and logs, they can also be pathed on. Staircases are cheap. So many of those buildings can be stacked by highways built around the main reservoir. Then you can do controlled lowland agriculture and a maintained pump area. Just saying since you could use it to avoid the bad water entirely.

Really need an extra long episode of this series. 20-25mins is just not enough to satisfy my beaver cravings!

Beavers can build down, just put platforms in the badwater so they dont have to walk in it.

You need to put a dam block on your irrigation channel. So that way water can't back flow into your main dam storage area that you draw water from.

So, from my personal testing, you can raise happiness, campfire use, and other activities by lowering the working hours. Don't forget, a beaver needs it's sleep! So out of those free 8 hours of night, they can't party if they must sleep!

Use bridges to cross the badwater! And for the power thingos use platforms! It uses extra resources but it won't endanger your beavers, and will be easier to modify in the future if something needs changing

Beavers absolutely love coffee and the algae. And they love a bit of Mangrove fruit as well.

I've noticed you don't need as many fire places and what not if you work your beavers less hours in a day, gives them more opportunity to actually use them.

When it comes to improving the Social score for your beavers, it's not (necessarily) about the amount of campfires (and other things), it's about the *free time* your beavers have to partake in those activities. If you give them more free time (like a day off once in a while), their Wellbeing will skyrocket due to the improved Social score (though it will go back down relatively quickly).

Before the series ends I'd love a ground level tour of the city

Seems like a very lovely game. I love how Matt was eyeing the endgame for the badwater mechanic, and as he was thinking of how to do it, the game naturally slid him into developing more 'badwater technology'.

Put a floodgate in your farming area and raise it in the dry season. Lower it to fill it in the wet season then shut it to retain the water. That or use a dam for it to happen passively if you're going to forget to move it each time, which, as a veteran of 7 series I know is most likely 😂

You can build platforms over the badwater with the power logs running under them, so you don't have to murder beavers.

In my own recent save I was reduced from 45 beavers to 6 by 3 consecutive bad tides. Those irrigation barriers are definitely needed ASAP

A dam for every larger height-difference would improve planting in droughts on top of the mountain. Making in a pond simply for the trees, with simple dam pieces, would do it.

The Beavers can build three blocks down, even through a raised wooden path. So if you want to build something in badwater just build a raised path over it to protect the builders.

quick tip, you dont need to put a path to the stairs for beavers to use them. if theyre in reach of a building, the beavers working there will still use them with or without a path
